Maxing all stats and making a 10 hour video? Truly a Strat thing to do
Yes it is
There are 2 or 3 more of these 10-hour chunks coming soon lol
@@StratPlays Of course there are
Oh no more things to run and die
Question is, how can we make this harder and longer?
pd:that is what she said
I'm about to speedrun a 10 hour video by using the broken "sleeping" strategy
So glad you had the episode recaps and timestamps. I accidentally fell asleep watching this and got back to the right episode in like 5 seconds
It's a lot of extra work, but I think it's worth it since most people don't have time to watch more than 30 - 40 minutes at a time. Thanks for watching! :D
@@StratPlays exactly. I've been coming back to this all week. Can't wait to watch part 2!
Those watch alarms.... I've recently started looting them off corpses via Right Clicking -> Set Alarm, which auto-loots them in to your inventory and allows me to disable the alarm immediately rather than later when it has woken me up 3x over :'D
I do this and they still somehow go off, thankfully I got electrical 1 now so I don't need to keep doing that
@@Moplonn Are you making sure to uncheck the box "alarm?" Also, if you move before unchecking it'll close the window and I'm sure you'll have to repeat the process like normal. But yeah, numerous ways to go about it such as disassembling as you get them. :) I personally wait until I've read the book before I do so though.
You can see if the alarm is set by hovering over with the mouse
@@abbaethon Inception
9:04:00 watching you miss the foraging 5 made me yell at my phone lmao
:(
I honestly wasn't sure whether I would enjoy watching Project Zomboid from the few clips I've seen of it, but your play through and ideas are really interesting. Thank you for the first part of this series, looking forward to more!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! It can be a very slow game to watch, so I generally don't recommend watching full playthroughs, but we edit out about 50 - 60% of everything and only leave in the interesting parts (or hopefully it is lol). I'm working on the next 10 hour chunk tonight and I'm hoping to have it out by tomorrow or more likely Friday.
@@StratPlays I have noticed a lot of the cuts and sped up gameplay so I appreciate the effort put into reducing "down time". I'll be on the lookout for the next part!
It’s a hard game and can get lonely besides that mods and all baby!!! Not so lonely anymore and you can tweak the settings to be as hard or easy as possible
Side note for the beginning if anyone does start in rosewood, you can find a backpack in the top of the firehouse, there’s a locker room in the far corner of the building, can have satchels or duffle bags (: awesome video though! Come back several times to finish it lol
Been recovering from surgery so this is perfect! Thank your blessing us with a long one!
hooo boy, found my binge video to eat food to for the next week and a half. will be fun. thanks strat!
Super cool series. Been watching slowly over the past week. Almost done and hyped part 2 is already out
Like & subbed the second i saw the recap after episode 1. It just makes so much sense and i really enjoyed the concept. 10/10 idea mr sir
I love the re-caps you do after each episode more people should really start doing that too
I think most people don't because it adds A LOT of work lol It doesn't seem like much, but you have to really pay attention when you're watching back to know which notes to take (is this important enough to put in the notes or ignore, etc.) Then you have record voice over for each section and pair it up in the long timeline and I'm not sure if you are familiar with editing, but once your timeline gets past 2 - 3 hours, it starts to lag horrendously lol so even a single change to your timeline (like making the text, adding the voice over, etc.) will take several seconds per change to register. All that to say - you guys are all worth the work to me and I will continue to put the effort in as long as you're enjoying these :D
This is actually insane lmao
Love this! I can tell you have put a lot of work into this series! Much love from Norway
Thanks! Yeah it took a long time to get this one done, but I really learned a lot from it
Love this format. Thank you so much for the content
Glad you're enjoying this! I much prefer the longer videos as well. I'll have the next 10 hours done by Friday at the latest :)
FINALLY .. ive been waiting for this !!
I haven't watched many 10 hours videos but this was one of them, really cool how competent you are at the game. I don't play the game but I picked up tip and tricks along the way that might be useful if I decided to !
Glad you enjoyed it!
I strongly recommend throwing loot in trash bags and dropping them on the floor until you're ready to go, it takes a tenth of a second to pick them up even if it would take a really long time to grab their contents. I use this to save time when throwing ice freezers into cars, to make it easy to come back for loot in the future, etc.
An FYI for anyone foraging, you can also Discard the items and get the XP from picking it up.
Glad I came! Hope it gets into more people’s feeds
Halfway through and I have to commend you on the editing, almost watching this in full flow state.
Thanks! My wife has been helping me edit these playthroughs so I'll let her know :)
@@StratPlays wholesome af. it definitely turned out great
Honestly i love this format, allows me to portion the content as needed. Definitely prefer this to the 30 min schedule.
Ive always been interested in project zomboid, but i worry that although i love the idea of the game i end up not enjoying it when i start playing. Regardless i love waatching your content, i appreciate your dedication
Thanks for the feedback! A lot of people have been mentioning they prefer this format, so I'll probably continue this way a little more so I can get enough data to confirm it's better for the channel as well.
PZ is a very frustrating game to play for sure lol but once you get past that part and just accept that you'll die A LOT, it becomes much more fun :)
subscribed immediately. i love this type of content. 10hrs lmao
There's a rule on UA-cam upload that says nothing more than 12 hours, but I saw someone post a 14 hour last week so I'm doing research... lol. I would much rather post a 30 hours video than 3 separate 10 hours. I'll see what I can do!
Saving this one to watch fully on the weekend kekw 😅
Finally came across these videos and man I realized how wrong I was playing zomboid haha thank you for the content and please keep making videos my man. Love this content.
You'll probably want to watch the next series, because I learned SO much more since this challenge run lol It should be ready in a week or two :)
Through sheer dedication you've conjured up a ten-A TEN HOUR VIDEO. Which is edited nonetheless! Not just a Livestream. (And then possibly a several part series!?) Where's my jaw, subbing and definitely watching this 🗣️‼️ giving this video all my engagement I can, certified banger⁉️
Thanks! Episode 2 is already out as well and I've got 2 more that are done and I just need time to render and upload them. Soon! Also... this run was to prep for the REAL run - 1M zombie kill challenge on insane pop (16x with no respawn). That series will start shortly after this one ends, so keep an eye out :D
Yessss I've been waiting for this one!
That first death was painful! Such a lucky start :(
Yeah I was really looking forward to that great start too lol
This vids got me through tough times and long travels 10/10
I don't know if this makes sense, but your videos scratch the same itch in my brain as a robbaz video.
I have almost finished this video and i have been hooked ever since you featured this game. I hope you release another 10 hour chunk soon so i can dorect inject it into my veins.
The next 10 hour chunk is being rendered tonight while I sleep (it takes about 5 - 6 hours to get 10+ hour videos). I'll get it uploaded tomorrow when I wake up :)
idk what it is about watching videos like this with people so knowledgeable of game mechanics but i'm hooked lmao
Not many people make edited hour + long vids. I appreciate then very much, the longer the better for me.
It's a ton of work so I understand why most people don't do it, but I recently hired some help with the editing (my wife and another person - friend/fellow youtuber). Without their help I wouldn't be able to do these!
I tuned in hoping for a video to get me through my breakfast but u gave a video to get me through the day.
02:46.42 man i admire what you do . thanks. you are like my gaming homunculus who i let loose every now and then, it's nice to see how its going. I check in to catch up.. lots of love man. keep doing what you do.. x
Strat upload? Life good 🎉
This was much more interesting than I thought it would be.
Binged.
Content for DAYS let's go
I didn't see a comment about this so here we go: pressing V next to a vehicle will bring up the menu for siphoning gas and other options not present when right-clicking.
Also selecting the vehicle mechanics will bring up the view where you can also see the amount of gas in the tank.
Maybe you knew this and I'm just an idiot but idk 😅
Damn you parking those cars was hella nice 4:19:11
Lol I used to work in the car business and that's how we had to do it - pack em tight to fit more inventory!
I haven't watched the 2nd part yet but if I recall, the electrical skill leveling works only when constructing full electrical items like Home-made radios. I remember that was a strat I used to level mine to level 5. To which end I believe once you get to level 5, you can convert all standard lamps into battery powered lamps.
I would also try to find a second generator and let it wear itself down quite significantly as that would also help leveling electrical.
i little tip you can also press v next to a car and it will show an icon to take gas if the car has any
I've watched video essays this long before, this will be a piece of cake
Watched the whole thing, onto the next one! :P
This is the kind of a video i would sit and watch for 10h straight
I've watched an hour so far, and I'm actually so mad! You get a Hiking backpack, then immediately get a large backpack?! I started playing zomboid recently, I've played for about 100 hours so far, almost exclusively in Rosewood, and I've gotten ONE bag better than a duffel inside of Rosewood during that time (hiking bag). Damn you and your luck!
Yeah it was a lucky find! If you want a really good shot at a better backpack, I suggest getting to the military base to the west (south and west of the prison) as they always have zombies with military backpacks there. It's a pretty dangerous drive, but probably worth it if you do it before all the woods become overgrown.
@@StratPlays Yea, I've tried going to that place once, died in the forest, though, I like to think I'm much better at the game now, guess time will tell though, lol.
I've successfully raided the army quarters to the south, and the army supply store to the north east before though, I've yet to come across a military backpack yet though, it's kind of my holy grail by this point :P Though I did get a large backpack by a recent survivor on the way to the surplus store :D
That's all we needed😎
The absolute mad man.
Little late now, but for future reference, there CAN be backpacks and gym bags in the lockers in the change rooms on the first floor...
Thanks Strat 🙏🏻❤️
Enjoyed the video
I played this over as i was trying to sleep. woke up on hour 7, great timer.
Lol nice! The algorithm loves the solid watch time
This is hustle. He made us think twice before requesting like simp series.
Oooo~ a very nice video 👌
I watch almost every video on this channel. I was waiting for several weeks for the new PJ video. Why was this not in my feed? 😮 If it wasn’t for the community post I wouldn’t see it at all!
I'm not sure - UA-cam likes to do stuff like this sometimes :(
Hello, loving the vid so far and is currently in the middle of Episode 12. Slowly trying to finish the vid bit by bit since its quite a long one. This vid really made me and my friends to try the game out, which is why I'm commenting. Do you have a list of the QoL mods you have? Thanks a lot!
Hi there, thanks for watching! I've got the rest of this series almost done being edited and once it's done, I'll start the next challenge campaign which is WAY better than this one :) I plan on including a full Mod list in that one since there are a few mods that aren't in this play though that I cannot play without, so I don't want to give you the incomplete list!
@@StratPlays Thanks! Can't wait for the new campaign, but I still have to watch the part 2 of this so it'll probably be up by the time I finish it hahaha
True Gordon freeman gameplay here with all the crowbar action
The madman aims to grind strength and fitness 10. RIP lil bro. Gonna be entertaining though
thank you - i think i grabbed all the mods - :D - side note; add em to the description :)
Good point, I'll try to get to that tonight!

From the Wiki;
"Rémoulade (English: /reɪməˈlɑːd/; French: [ʁemulad])[1] is a cold sauce. Although similar to tartar sauce, it is often more yellowish, sometimes flavored with curry, and often contains chopped pickles or piccalilli. It can also contain horseradish, paprika, anchovies, capers and a host of other items."
It varies a bit from country to country, but is generally a Mayonaise based sweet & sour kind of dipping sauce.
Is great with fried fish or French fries.
It sounds really good actually - I'm a fan of tartar sauce :D
I really thought it was a combination of ramune and lemonade lol
I’ve never seen or heard of project zomboid but man am I going to have a good sleep
It's such a fun game!!
you know its real when the speed run is 10 hours
ten hour video! Holy crap!
I wish I could watch this from work, but it is apparently restricted for some reason. I can see it at home but at work they have all the computers set for restricted mode.
I find it interesting that the computer itself can be set to force YT into restricted across multiple browsers.
Watching you play brings back so many frustrating memories of this darned iso view. I hate it. Love the game, wish I could play it in 1st person.
Not enough comments about how well done the editing is. Was this recorded while streaming? I really appreciate splicing the audio over the sped up sections to still have relevant commentary and sound effects (most notable during driving segments). It was so seamless that I at first wondered if you had some sort of mod that altered vehicle speeds, or that allowed you to fast forward time while still in control.
Looking forward to the next installment!
Thanks! The first few episodes were on stream, but it transitions into offline after that. My wife has been editing this series, so I'll let her know :D
Cool video
This is peak gamer form
7:34:04 --> You can't sew with dirty rags for whatever reason, it has to be clean
Not sure if the clothing item has to be clean but it might of helped in that sitauation
09:04:13 the foraging vol 5 book you missed it.Just reached this episode and im so captivated by it.
Honestly i hope you survive until you get them all maxed.Keep it up!
Edit: 09:14:06 once again..
took me around 4days to watch it, cant wait for the next one
It went live this morning actually! Time to start chipping away at the next 10 hours lol
Oh shit bro 😂😂😂 this is distracting me so much from my mids
at the end of the video he sounds so exhausted and hoarse. xD but heyyy thanks for the 10hour run
Lol yeah it was rough! These are petty heavily edited too, so a 10 hour video usually means that was 20 - 25 hours of recording :)
oh boy it seems like I know what I'll be doing in my next flight
I love it!
not sure if its been mentioned already but if you move all your watches to your personal inventory and click the top right alarm bell symbol twice you'll set all watches on an off again
I didn't know that! Great tip
Getting maxxed out stats on a character and taking 10 hours to do so with only spending 2 seconds of that time customizing it is nuts. 0:20
This is an edited down version btw - It took me over 100 hours to finish this (minus reloading, sprinting and nimble - those take literal IRL days/weeks to max out as I found out later lol)
You can make all ripped sheets in the crafting menu.
woppaaaaaaaaaaa and oh lord when am i ever gonna finish this
Oh God finally it’s really ready
I've got another 10 hour chunk almost ready - I'll try to release the whole thing soon because I need to make room for the REAL PZ video (1 million kill challenge, max zombies from day 1, no fire, etc.).
"I like his red underwear, that's kinda nice. It's probably satin, and very comfortable." 😂
I know a guy...
Is he Geeek
1:47:36 This is awkward...
Me: Watching this at 4:47am and NOT sleeping 😂
Strat is definitely a Grindr 😈
0:18 replace yo smoke detector battery homes
Haha that's my bird actually! He copies all of those kinds of noises. His name is Newton (African Grey Parrot)
Newton the smoke detector is going to live rent free in my head from now on 😂
I'm pretty sure zombies outside the garage or an the adjacent house can also have a key for the garage but I'm not 100% sure
wow... according to steam i played this game last time in 2014. had no clue the game was still going strong. wonder how much it changed
I only started playing it last year, so I'm not sure but from what I've seen in other videos it's a huge difference! It got really popular 2 years ago when some big UA-cam channels started playing it. Now it's got more monthly players than Bannerlord, CK3, Rimworld, etc.
@@StratPlays cool, gonna reinstall tonight
Just a thought,
Changing the title card colours to suit the game or series, different thems.
Hell yeah
now thats dedication
ok theres a part two im done
Part 3 and 4 are being edited right now lol it took a lot longer than I anticipated! I started the next challenge run too - insane population (no respawn), 1M zombie kills, no fire and no running from the starting town
You can rip all the sheets for the entire stack via the crafting window, you don't need a mod for that!
Can we all agree about first guy? Definetely had a name Dimitry and probably only man in town nothing was wrong about.
Lol He also makes great money and is great in bed
It's such a shame that different towns don't offer different unique rewards in this game
A little late to the comments here, really enjoying this playthrough but wanted to let you know. Calories and hunger are totally decoupled in project zomboid. You lose weight at a consistent rate as long as you have one down arrow, whether or not you are starving or hungry or whatever that Moodle says. So, ideally to lose weight, you want to stay full on low calorie foods like vegetables, maintaining your down arrow while also avoiding the starvation moodles. Yes, it's kind of silly, but so are so many other things in this beautiful mess of a game
I know i heard a smoke alarm chirp at like 0:18 .
Replace your batteries, my dude. It's a short trip to Home Depot/Lowes. Get the recommended battery for your smoke detector. Takes like 15 minutes, maybe less, depending on how close you live to a store.
Funny story - I have an African grey parrot named Newton who can copy sounds perfectly. He loves extremely loud noises, so the smoke alarm is one of his favorites lol it's definitely the bird. I have small kids, so I check the smoke alarms once per year, it's definitely not that :)
Great video but if you ever do this again in PZ then a good mod is called "Out of gas?" and it allows you to Push a car too move it out the way, i use it and i just Roleplay that i got in the front and released the handbreak.
Holy crap that would be so useful!! I hate unhitching my trailer, moving the car, hooking up the busted one, moving it, unhitching, etc. etc. lol that would be so cool, thanks!!
There is certainly room for optimization in the run, but well done!
Agreed! I learned so much from this run
Goodness! 10 hrs of inventory management,eh? I'm in
Lol I told the wife to cut all of that out so hopefully not :)
Genuine question, since I have never played this game and most likely never will. Why wouldn't you grab the guns early on? For example, in episode 5, the M14. Why not bring it back with some other loot and make a gun stash for later?
The biggest issue with guns is low accuracy at low levels. It's hard to do much damage with them unless you're using a shotgun at close range, which is actually the best way to level that skill up anyhow. You also attract a massive amount of zombies to you, so unless you're trying to clear the whole area quickly OR you're trying to push through an area quickly, then guns are usually a death trap. Once you get a high level in shooting AND you have lots of ammo, then you're fine to use them anywhere :)
I noticed when you get in a car, you usually drive away before the door closing sound. The game considers the door open if you don't hear the door slam shut, so zombies can bite you like if the window is open. I lost a few lives to this before I found out. Stay safe out there.
Oh damn I didnt know that, thanks for the heads up! I'm about 400 hours into my current challenge (killing 1M zombies on max population) and I still do this all the time lol
@@StratPlays No problem. There's a mod called "car door open indicator" by Aoiley. It makes a chime noise and flashes the light on the dash when you leave it open and it lets you close the door in the vehicle menu. Unfortunately, it also chimes when the hood or trunk are open and you need to get out to close them. I don't use this mod because I don't always close those, so I just listen for the door closing noise before driving off. But it's a highly rated mod so I thought let you know about it. Looking forward to seeing the challenge you're working on. Stay safe
was unsure if this is a compilation or just one large video released at once, but just wanted to give you a tip. adhesive bandages are actually not worth grabbing. according to the wiki they only have 0.8 healing power compared to 1.0 from ripped sheets. regular bandages are the best at 1.2 healing power.
Interesting, I didn't know it affected the healing power!
@@StratPlays yeah it doesnt sound like much, but i still end up grabbing every banadage i see because of it lol
Great content! Why do you never bathe? I am constantly washing with my character LOL!
Thanks for watching!! I don't usually bathe unless I have that negative perk where it causes stress to have blood on you. It doesn't seem to make much difference to be clean and it takes a lot of water and time so I just ignore it. In the next campaign that I'm editing, I've got somewhere around 130,000 zombie kills without showering once... imagine the stink LOL
Three lots of 10 hours to watch, one down, two to go.
Hello I was wondering if you would ever make a baldurs gate gameplay? Idk if it is your style
Thanks for watching! I've got BG3 on my list, but it's probably not going to happen for a while since there's more games coming out later this year I need to prepare for. I'm a huge fan of BG though - played most of the franchise as a kid!
