One bench to rule them all! I Pre-ordered this at the beginning of March. I received it last week. I absolutely love it. Its the last bench I will ever own. It does everything you could ever want. I am hoping they will come out with a leg extension attachment at some point. This bench is a tank, but the weight isn’t an issue for me and I am 54 years old. It rolls around my gym super easy. Thanks for the great review Coop! Love it.
Saw another review... this bench looks like the king of all benches. Saw Rep put out a message about coming out with more attachments. Got the bench... def going to get more attachments when they drop.
@@tonya7699 I used the FlyBird adjustable bench for almost three years. It was a cheap Amazon purchase. I saw the BlackWing showcased at the Arnold and knew that was the bench for me. I too am looking for REP to come out with some cool attachments for this bench. I will be first in line when they do.
@@BassAnywhere I have the leg attachment but that isn’t what I am asking for. I am hoping they make an attachment that will allow you to do leg extensions and hamstring curls.
Not sure if Coop kept using that shot over and over again as a low key warning for the audience since he’s not actually going to call Rep out on such a concerning issue if he wants them to keep supporting the channel (sending stuff + whatever the commission / affiliate link is ) ..
Great review! I had ordered the AB-4100 a few days ago, but decided I wanted the BW after this review. Called Rep this morning and they were able to switch it! Great customer service on their end, by the way. I'm excited to receive it. Went with wide pad and the "Army Green" color, BTW.
Coop! I just got my black wing bench and noticed the nick in the side of the pad, mine has the same exact nick in the same spot. Probably a QC callout for Rep manufacturing. Other than the two cheap knobs for the leg attachment and the OCD symmetry between the pop pin rail and the ladder this is a very nice bench!
So I received my Rep Blackwing ("Army Green"), assembled it, and just used it for the first time. Wow! This think is a tank. Beautifully made, super solid. Nothing at all negative to say, at this point. Super impressive, to say the least! I got the wide pad and like it. I guess the ONLY negative is that it's heavy, so you have to be careful bending down to lift it to stand it up. But that weight also makes it rock solid. When people hear "made in China", they might shy away. I'll just say that every little detail is perfect on mine, and the level of quality is obvious. For $620 shipped, I think the Blackwing is an excellent value.
I absolutely love my blue Black Wing. It is a beast! I sold my Rogue AB-3 to get this and it feels as stable as that Rogue. The fact it can stand is why I sold the Rogue to get this. I used my Rep FB-5000 in the interim and sold it after getting the Black Wing. I no longer needed a flat bench in addition to an adjustable bench. It does wonders for the floor space in my smaller gym having just one bench.
Hi Mark. What avenue did you use to sell your Rogue AB-3? I'm planning to sell mine to upgrade to the Black Wing or the Manta Ray. But I don't see many (any) postings in eBay or Marketplace for an AB-3; trying the determine how to get the most for my existing bench, and ensure that it winds up in the hands of someone who can appreciate a good solid bench. TIA!
I was wondering when you were going to do the Manta Ray bench, there has only been one review of it for the past couple months - can't wait to see the comparison between these two.
Ordered a few weeks ago, but it doesn't ship until June 30 I think. Glad to see a good review. ordered the wide pad and attachment, hoping to do Nordics with it too, hopefully it's not too bad.
Rep did their thing with this bench! I like it more and more every time I see it. I recently bought the OG AB-5200 at a discount, and I did that knowing they would release new and improved models. With that said, I don't have any regrets because the AB-5200 is a beast!
Great review as always. Couple of questions: 1) Why say “imported”? From China? Mexico? Just say the country please. 2) Is the bench already showing wear and tear in the lower corner of the back pad? Reference 09:18 left side of screen, 12:37-12:48 same place. Keep up the great reviews. Thanks!
I really hope REP does a decent Black Friday sale this year that includes this bench. It’s a lot of cash but I’ve been in the market for a new multi-purpose bench for a little over a year. Last year’s Black Friday deals kinda sucked compared to the 2021 deals.
I sold my AB-3000 FID and my AB-3100 adjustable bench and then purchased the Blackwing. I've had it for a few weeks and it's a terrific value for the money. I wish I would have kept my AB-3100 as well because the Blackwing is too heavy for my wife to use! Looks like I'll be buying another one for her....
@9:26 and @12:36 you can tell how thin by that slit on the vinyl!!! I know this because we bought a bench from GETXD and it has that same slit, don't know how it happened but you can tell how thin the material is. A must pay attention!
Firstly, Great videos. Super informative, constructive pros and cons, and really nicely edited to highlight the good, the bad and the ugly. I’m in the market for an adjustable FID bench. I really like ur solo review and head to head on the BLACKWING by REP. However, and here’s the million dollar question, towards the end of the solo video u highlight my biggest concern, the weight. I def want a bench I can store vertically safeIy, and it also being super study and also FID. So what other benches should I consider with a rouge manta ray budget as an absolute max, to get a bench with less weight, but all the blackwing features. The zero gap is awesome, but not a deal breaker if the gap is small. I want to do decline work, nordics are not a must have .. I thought I’d call on ur expert knowledge in this field of ur expertise. And maybe I suck up the 131 lb weight of the blackwing .. I’m concerned it’s super heavy to not only left up but then move around . Therefore, before I pulled the trigger I thought I’d ask. Appreciate ur reply comment in advance, amd thank you again for brilliant videos. Cheers
Did REP pay extra to have you showcase the tear in the vinyl? I had a similar cut/tear, in a similar location, in their wide pad. They happily replaced it, but I wonder if there is something up with the manufacturing process that increases the likelihood. I agree with you on the leg roller. I've never owned/used it, but it has always looked like an afterthought. The manufacturer needs to up their foot catch game.
The upholstery on them is for sure the weak link. I recommend buying a black roll of already stitched upholstery and put a "slip cover" on the back and seat pads. Just staple it to the back side of the bench pad and then re-bolt it down. It makes a huge difference for wear. It's just certainly not the best quality of vinyl material is the issue for sure.
I love this bench, especially since it worked out with my Bolt Fitness Venom leg curl/extension attachment, as well as the preacher curl attachment and my Powertec pec fly. Now trying to find out if the Ironmaster Hypercore will fit, aka a hyperextension attachment.
Coop, next time you do another general bench review (from low to high cost) include the XMARK XM-9010 FID bench. I just bought it for $198 shipped and it's rock solid, no rocking, the padding is top notch, and assembles quickly. Definately an underdog in the universe of weight benches. Thanks.
Looks like you could easily do chest supported barbell rows with angles 90 grips on it. You can’t do that on a lot of benches because of the ladder system that gets in the way. Looks great
Awesome review Coop! However my leg roller from REP is all steel, no plastic. Also mine came w/ four collars to hold the pads......? Regardless once again ya nailed it.
Would love to see a review of Adjustable Benches that have Leg Curl / Extension attachments, I have the Powertec about 10 years, weld has disintegrated so I'm in the market to upgrade
Looks enticing! I was all ready to buy the Rep 4100 and then saw this review. Is it worth the extra $200? One thing I noticed, which is not a good look for Rep, is that the bench shown appears to have a small tear in the corner.
I agree with finding a way to secure your legs for lat pull downs! I want the AB 3000 2.0 for that. Even if they had a simple anchor area with the custom strap or belt. I have been trying to find an over sized cheap belt that will fit on my crap titan bench for now bit can't find one to fit.

Coop! I think a ton of us would love a to see you that new banger you're working on featuring the ROGUE MANTA RAY ADJUSTABLE BENCH and a side by side comparison against the REP Blackwing FID Adjustable Bench would be sick! I think it's these 2 FID benches that a lot of us at home are looking at and trying to figure out which one to go with. Tough to beat Rogue's bar that they have set. Has REP passed them on the FID bench?

AB-4100 is my personal favorite REP bench. Have tried all of them, I may get a Blackwing just being an equipment junkie, but the 4100 is the best middle of the road. Basically a scaled down AB-5200. Stable enough to do benching with, and very easy to maneuver around the gym.
I have the same question for every incline bench. I have limited space, i have a rogue RML 390 rack, it’s backed up against a wall. Would this fit to incline bench inside my rack? Thinking the length of this one might not work?
