I think this video will have convinced anyone who watched it: if you're getting married, get a coordinator.
You were solving problems and thinking about things.. that I wouldn't even have imagined could actually happen, you know?
And that makes you think 'what if something like that would happen and I didn't have someone there to fix it??'

Sindisiwe Sithole aww girl so sorry 😩 I have one problem bridesmaid and she is driving me nuts. I should’ve known before I asked her!! She’s not making the financial responsibilities of being a bridesmaid a priority and it’s very upsetting.
Tilar Williams the blog 'a practical wedding' has a lot of great bridesmaid advice and the comment section is very honest but kind. What do you mean by "bridesmaid financial responsibilities" and did you communicate your expectations when you asked her to be a bridesmaid? Today in the US the standard is that a bridesmaid will pay for their dress and shoes (possibly accessories) as well as the travel, hotel, and gift expectations of a regular guest. Professional hair/makeup/nails is not a requirement and if the bride dictates it she should pay. A bachelorette party or shower are not requirements, they are gifts, and as such the budget should be set by those hosting (i.e. not the bride).
Hilary S thank you, I will have to totally check out that blog! And what I mean is I’ve talked to her a handful of times about ordering her dress and she just keeps ignoring me. I actually work at the bridal shop we’re ordering the BM dresses from and she was supposed to come try on the dress while I was working Monday night and she never showed up. The reason I say “financial responsibilities” is because we’ve obviously spoken about who pays for what and deadlines and what have you. She knows that she needs to order her dress like, now. I’m frustrated because I’m seeing her blow her money on things like eyelash extensions, her nails and her hair and I’m thinking in my head “Okay really? Being in my wedding is less important than that stuff? That’s great.” Her lack of communication towards me is just making me feel like she isn’t taking this seriously and it hurts me not just as “the bride” but her long time friend.
@@tilarfifield2407 that sounds really frustrating, I am sorry that is happening to you! From sort of similar scenarios I have seen on the blog I mentioned the advice is usually that something else might be going on in your friends life (rather than a financial issue). Have you checked in with her about non-wedding related things? Starting a conversation with a genuine "how are you doing/what is going on in your life" and then addressing that you are hurt that she committed to being a bridesmaid but has been ignoring you and not following through.
My fiancé and I would love more behind the scenes content!! It's great to have the added insight

Elizabeth Penton yeah honestly flights aren’t really all the expensive but when coordination in general didn’t really fit into the budget adding the costs of all the traveling fees and everything just didn’t work out :( as much as I totally agree with Jamie’s advise on getting a coordinator we had to just stick with our venue coordinator and weren’t able to get a weddding coordinator because of the budget

Question: what are some songs that you hear all the time at weddings. Like for the procession and first dance?
It makes sense what you say. I went to a wedding this past April and they had started packing up the decor from the tables while guests were still sitting there. I thought it was strange.

If you loved Hawaii you should definitely try and do a wedding in New Zealand. I'm not a fan of living here but it definitely has perfect wedding scenery.

Even tho we are engaged we won’t be getting married for quite a few years for money and personal life reasons. But down the line like 5-7 years from now it would be so cool to have you come help us with our fall camping wedding here in Michigan. We actually already found the venue, and it’s gorgeous. Plus lots of vlog content for you. 😉 everywhere you look, looks like something off Pinterest. It’s a private lot with a private lake and I’m so excited for when we can finally start putting more actual planning into action.

These videos just convince me every time to hire a wedding coordinator! So many things can happen the day of the wedding and there’s no way a friend-vendor can handle it this professionally! Thanks so much for posting this! My wedding is less than 2 months away, and I was worried that hiring a day/month-of coordinator was overkill since our venue has an onsite planner for the reception . . . I hired a personal planner to "be me" and make sure everything is set up and organized . . . after seeing this, I am very happy we did this.

I've been having problems finding a venue here b/c we're looking for only indoor. hawaii is beautiful but it's way too hot sometimes :D
It sucks because the venue we wanted to get another couple put the deposit up first. My fiance wants to go to a specific church and they are very strict about booking, one year exactly to the day. I just hired a wedding coordinator which I'm a little worried about but there's not too many wedding planners that want "locals" as clients. Since destination weddings are much easier for them.
