- Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker with 7.0L 426 v8 Hemi cammed & twin turbo hits up the dyno. The Hellephant 426 makes 1000 hp, this twin turbo 426 makes close to that! This Challenger RT has a 392 Scatpack SRT engine that was bored & stroked to 426 with cam & twin turbos after. This Challenger RT is making some amazing power & visits the dyno to show how much power it's making. Today I received my pedal commander, after 8 months of watching reviews, your channel and others, I finally decided to get one. Installed it a couple hours ago, and holy crap, it does make a difference throughout the levels, to each mode, sport with +1 is perfect for my daily, spirited driving. It does feel like an old muscle car cable type setup, and I should know cause I own a 66 Chevy 2, 350 bored .030 over, tubbed, weiand blower running 9lbs at 650 horse, great cruiser to obviously getting on it.
Other then that thanks for helping my decision and to other Mopar brothers, we live on!!!!

Thanks for the video, really appreciate your videos, I'm a charger fan, my dad had a 72 se, Olive green, white vinyl top, but engine was weak 318, hard to kill 318. I'm thinking of 2017 Daytona, 5.7 or 6.4, I will stroker it, 5.7 to 392, and keep it until I'm ready for blower treatment. I'm looking to c what's out here that's available. Keep the videos going, it helps my decision.

I just wanted to respond to your answer about supercharger. No matter if you tourbo or supercharge your motor, you will never use the power on the street . Don't get me wrong you will love it when you hit the gas, but on the street you will shut down before you hit the real power. You will find the speeds you hit so fast are insane . Make sure you have good brakes. A time will come when you need them. Best of luck on your build

It isnt street legal for emissions. It is supposed to be only in vehicles for pre 1976.

Dragracin 95 the problem is though that a shop wont spend money to build a crazy car that is supposed to go in a classic. There were only 50 released for now.

The Edlebrock on that 5.7 couldn’t get it past 500 lol. Damn good pull, but it ain’t competing with a Whipple.
Yah I've seen other 5.7 forced air setups doing 530+whp - he's not pushing that thing though. Very low boost so he has no issues
What is your opinion on gearing and open dif vs lsd? Can’t find any comparisons or mention of this mod on your channel.
3.09 vs 3.70 vs 3.90. Seems lsd would offer a performance upgrade for many rt owners unless I am missing something.

No it didn't hit 500whp. It has a magnason & long tubes on there. he's probably only running 4-5lbs

Hey I know this is the wrong video to make this comment on but I digress. I’m looking to buy a 5.7 challenger or an older 6.17 Challenger. I’ve heard that both engines can have issues with lifters and the cams. From what I’ve been able to tell is this pretty much the only big issue with these motors. Is there any other large issue that plays these engines? I would like to get a manual trans but I am very rusty and wouldnt want to screw anything up re learning. It would also be a daily driver so maybe an auto would be better. If I do not get an automatic trans, would it not have the MDS, and I wont have the lifter issue? Hopefully that makes sense. I really haven't had any major issues to report back on my end - but my RT has been modded up pretty good in phases. I'm sure others could weigh in & provide better feedback on negatives.
I have a 2010 R/T 6SPD. It's my daily and also my first car and the only cars with lifter issues are MDS cars that are either high mileage or modded. If it is a manual it doesn't have MDS. Lmk any other questions you have cuz I can answer them all, I've torn the whole car down 3 times now and I'm a mechanical engineering student so I have some good advice when it comes to these hemis.
Thanks for the reply man! As soon as i graduate and my degree, Ima buy a nice challenger. For the price range of 15-20k lost of the 5.7 challengers I see are right around 40k miles. Is that lifter/cam issue really the only big thing that’ll come up in the engines lifetime?
@@dannygallagher9290 I got mine for $17k, 30k miles R/T classic(highest trim of 2010 R/T). If the car is maintained properly there's no reason it shouldn't last 200k+. And like I said the only weak lifters are the MDS lifters which are autos only and even then I've seen a ton of them in trucks last 250k miles

These motors are not real hemis they are wedge motors called Hemis.

The first one gave 780 hp, which is not 1000 hp to the crank
I don't think that was the final dyno run - the shaker owner had the finalized dyno sheet that showed 1000hp

Imagine spending well over 25k on top of a 45k car, to only make 700whp. This is why the Hemi engine is garbage. Sold my widebody scatpack yesterday, ordered my stage 2 whipple, headers, and on E85 I'll be over 800whp on a STOCK bottom end for under 10k. Dodge cant even come close to the performance perdollar that Ford or Chevy can.
If someone comes in and argues that a hellcat only requires a few mods to be over 700whp just remember, my car BRAND NEW 10 speed GT was 35k. A new Hellcat is well over 65k. Buying a used one for 45k with 30,000 miles that's been beat the shit out of doesnt make sense.
Also fastest stock bottom end gen 3 coyote has gone 8.30's in a 3600lb car. Not one and I mean not ONE gen 3 hemi has gone that fast on a stock bottom end.
