- Counter drive rush using drive reversal in street fighter 6! sf6 drive rush is a very strong tool in street fighter 6. It allows you opponent to keep attacking you. Problem is, that’s easily countered with Drive Rush LP into Block. It requires a hit to go off, so hit, test for reversal, if no reversal throw.
Yeah it really best used against drive rush cancels
On drive rush cancel it works even if they hold block after the cancel . There's simply not enough time to recover from the drive rush itself.
I use a parry first, then attempt a reversal immediately after. You'd be surprised how well that works.

True the drive animation freeze frames can be a hassle

The problem with Drive reversal is if your opponent has good enough reactions can react with a super which beats the drive reversal
There are a lot of cons for drive reversal so only use it if your opponent is mid drive rush cancel
@FGCCentral the mechanic is kinda bad especially at higher levels 😅 not worth 2 bars at all, especially if you play a character with an OD reversal

This is a move you have to use in the right situation. If your opponent game plan is to DR and can't get in any other way, it forces them to rethink their game plan which might cause them to lose the match. But if you abuse it because you're defensive game is lacking, ie. Anti airs, wiff punishments or bad parring, then they will block your Drive reversal and punish the living shit out of you. Use wisely 👍

Master rank here, is incredible how many core mechanics this game has, i never use drive reversal and that's one of the reason i don't get better at the game, it's hard when you have an habit to not use it

What's driver reversal? is it just you performing a drive rush back at them? kind of like when someone does DI and you hit back with DI to counter it?
The input for drive reversal js forward + DI (HP+HK) during block stun. It's like push block

That's expensive. It might be better to just block in most cases. Because you lose 2 bars plus the bar/bars you lost from blocking.
Can't you just grab out of dr and grab the counter?
Drive gage drive impact fighters? The worst thing to happen to street fighter and I've been playing for 30 plus years 😂
Game is evolving. Fighting games try to reward more offensive gameplay for it to be more entertaining to watch haha
@@FGCCentral drive rush maybe, but a one button perry? Or drive impact reverse? I don't use those mechanics and I'm in burn out over a meter burn fire ball? I'm really trying to see your point but I've absolutely pointed out defensive mechanics that drive gage is involved in the only offensive it gives you is drive rush and I'm good with that but using it to negate chip damage is also defensive because chip was just a natural thing now you have to have your aponent in burn out before that happens. Whats so offensive about any of that please help me understand this evolution.
@@jacobmcconner6537 drive rush allows you to skip neutral. Drive impact can armor through attack and can wall splat opponents. Drive rush cancel allows you to do longer combos. Drive gauge allows you to use more ex moves when you compare it to other titles where you have to build up the meter first. In sf6, drive gauge is always full at the start of the round.

It only uses 2. You can check the movelist
false, see the snake eye zangief vs jp fight ... using blocking and parry you can beat ... the question is to guess or risk to get the advantage ...
Zangief does not benefit from drive reversal since you want your opponent up close
Can't your opponent just block and punish the drive reversal if they get a read?
If they are mid drive rush cancel, they cannot block. The only way they can block is if they immediately mash jab to stop the drive rush and recover to block
Reversal uses too many bars up.
I think its balanced enough. Make it one bar and players will be spamming reversals everytime they block
