cyborg is one of those characters you could really look up to no matter what your skin color was. he appeals to African American children because he's their color and given an important roll as being the chief engineer of the titans and basically building every cool gadget the titans get. He also appealed to people in general given that he fights to keep his humanity even though he's mostly synthetic. Cyborg and Static Shock were some of the most influential characters for me growing up because for the most part the super hero's were white.
***** because he's the same as me, you're thinking too much about it and taking things out of context it's not racist to be inspired by someone who is like you, am I racist for thinking martin Luther king jr was inspirational to me? No, how is it raciest to think a character is inspirational to you because they are like you?
***** uh yea sure guy I'm totally white and saying cyborg is inspirational to me because he's my skin color I'm totaly not clearly brown in my picture. you're seeing things as black and white (oddly enough since you're so hung up on this being discriminatory). in the end it doesn't really matter if you think it is discrimination or not cyborg was an inspiration to me as a kid because he was black and I am colored where as most of the heros and main characters I grew up seeing were white and colored heros were always a rarity. (which I bet a lot of people felt that way), I am half white and I'm not saying one race is better than the other (that the definition of being a racist). I mean what's next am I discriminating against Americans because I like the character Reznov from Call of duty more than any of the American characters?? I can be inspired by someone based off their skin color I can not however say that because a hero is black or white that makes them better than anyone else which is not what I was saying at all, I like superman and batman and all the other white superheros just as much as the black ones- however Cyborg and Static shock were inspirational to me as a kid growing up. Plus you're comparing a book to a TV/Comic book series, with books you have to literally visualize everything which means you can make character whatever you want them to be unless the author establishes that they are a certain way (which I bet Spooner was described in detail in the book)
***** Well, considering that a animated cartoon series is usually made for kids and a lot of stuff in the '80s Teen Titans comics is not suitable for kids, what did you expect?. I mean, you wanted the creator of Teen Titans (the 2003-2006 animated series) to put in that Slade (aka Deathstroke), a grown man has sexual relations with a teen girl (Terra). Are you serious?. I watched Teen Titans and it was amazing, as more seasons went along it got more sophisticated, mature but still had great humor and gained a larger audience. More older viewers started watching it (teens and adults). I know a guy, who is 46 that watched Teen Titans when it was on (he was 35-37 when Teen Titans was running).
No conformation about Robin yet, but judging from Ryan Potter's audition tape, I'd say we're most likely to get Tim Drake's Robin. Assuming Ben's Batman allows another Robin to exist after the death of Jason Todd
As much as I like the original Teen Titans cartoon series, I think I prefer the comic origins of Cyborg more than the animated series. And the comic version of the hero as well. It shows more complex of the character seeing his background and what he'd been through. Hopefully we'll see a movie of him sometime in the future. We do need more black superheroes.
You mean we need more black superheroes in other media? There are plenty of black heroes, such as: Storm, Static, Sunspot, Black Lightning, Thunder and Lightning, Rocket, Icon, Black Panther, Luke Cage, Falcon, Bloodwynd, Ultimate Spider-Man, Bumblebee, Mal Duncan(chose your pick with his superhero personas), Tyroc, Star Boy, Mr. Terrific, Firestorm(the Jason Rush version), Bronze Tiger, Vixen, etc. I probably believe that you meant that we need to see these characters on television, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't this impression that there is a limited amount of black heroes. Personally I want to see a Black Panther movie, that guy's awesome!
cimpcimp Yes, yes and more yes to a Black Panther movie. The way Marvel are going about making movies for any of their characters now, I wouldn't be surprised if one for T'Challa turns up sooner rather than later.
Great video, Cyborg's past is quite interesting I never knew its past despite I was a teen titans fans and Cyborg was my fav. I want the Raven/Starfire for the next origins.

Daniel Scott I have to agree with you 2000000000000000% on the fantastic four reboot because what I've been hearing about the movie lately it really sounds like garbage and there's a rumor going around that the so-called fantastic four will be fighting Dr.doom wearing plain regular clothes and not in there iconic costumes
Jeahav Valentin And they won't be the "Fantastic Four" meaning they won't go by that name in the movie!! WTF?!?! Well then its NOT Fantastic Four then, its Chronicle 2!
I hate Cyborg, because he can never have a secret identity, yes I can take in Firestorm, because the origin is not the same at all, and that is a fact! Face it Cyborg stinks, and yes I can handle Wonder Girl, and Super Boy, just not Cyborg!
Victor is one of my all time favorite comic book ( and TV show) characters of all time. You guts did an excellent job of classifying and organizing his history. Did you guys ever do Raven or Kori? (Starfire)
Cyborg deserves his own Live Action Standalone Movie with Zack Snyder as The Director, Zack and Deborah Snyder as Producers, Antoine Fuqua and Ryan Coogler as Co Producers, James Cameron and Steven Spielberg as Executive Producers, and Starring Ray Fisher as Cyborg/ Victor Stone
Cyborg is the one DC character i find of the most interesting in the Justice League. I'm gonna see all the movies, but I'm seriously looking forward to Cyborg's movie the most!
Cyborg's slightly altered origins in The Flashpoint Paradox was the best I've seen. He was literally rebuilt with Apokolyptian technology that he somehow absorbed onto his body. He was the Justice League's trump card in that movie. It was insane. He's awesome.
it was actually called justice league war the sequel to the paradox and yeah if cyborg wasn't around in the comics or movie the justice league might have very well not been able to save the earth
Some of my favorite episodes in Teen Titans were the ones that focused on Cyborg, I loved how he always struggled to push himself past his artificial limits and stay in touch with his humanity!
In the animated movie Justice League at war. Cyborg origins in there was that he was a star Football QuaterBack and he was upset his dad never went to games. He visits the lab where the scientists were experimenting DarkSide portals and Victor took it where it exploded on him and DarkSide radioactive got into him. His dad takes him to machine to cure him where DarkSide radioactive fuses with the machine turning him into cyborg.
*Azrael. His name is Jean-Paul Valley, and he was the last of a group of assassins. I can't quite remember the name of the group, but I remember something about like Saint Dumas. His father gets killed by members of the group, and he seeks revenge, gets captured by Batman, and then works with Alfred to track down the killers. He then wears Batman's suit and kills them. Also, if you read the segment of the Bane era of Batman comics, Batman's back gets broken by Bane, and Jean-Paul takes over the duty of Batman for a while. It's actually very interesting. Read the Knightfall series of Batman comics and it'll explain that part.
DamonM Roger The Sacred Order of Saint Dumas. They used Azrael as an internal safeguard against rogue members. Jean-Paul's first real outing as Azreal pit him against a rogue member of the knights, the arms dealer Lehah.

Cyborg was my favorite in Teen Titans, my favorite cartoon show to date :)
I asked Mojo to do origins of Black hero's last year & rarely seen any, thanks for getting it done! Now...Black Panther, The Falcon, Black Lighting, Power Man, let's get their origins out there.
For everyone saying that they hope Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will be cyborg i hope he isn't. Only because i want a younger person for Cyborg, The Rock is 42 years old and i would be hoping for someone in their early 20's.
***** I'd wager there are plenty of skilled, built young actors who haven't been discovered yet. After all, every famous movie star was unknown at some point, unless they had a famous family.
I have to agree with you MrKJMac92 regarding that matter. Besides I think The Rock is being eyeballed for Lobo (a more appropriate role). If anything, I would've like to have seen Michael B. Jordan play Cyborg. Cyborg has WAY more gravitas and soul than the Human Torch. Not to go off topic, I still don't know what the hell 20th Century Fox is doing with the Fantastic Four. They should just surrender the rights to Marvel. Besides, they're already squeezing every cent they can out of X-Men like a farmer milking a try teat.
***** No, The Rock needs to stay right the hell away from Lobo. They need, I think his name is Chris Bryniarski, to play Lobo, since he already did once in The Lobo Paramilitary Special, a 14 minute short. Chris also played Zangief in the Street Fighter movie.
I only knew about Cyborg, Raven and Starfire ( Beast boy too) only through the Teen Titans show. Then I see Cyborg getting VERY involved with the Justice League in the recent years which is great but confused the shit out of me
Man I frickin love the old Teen Titans cartoon. And I'm really glad that Cyborg's actually becoming a major member of the Justice League now. That's pretty cool.
Yeah, and replacing it with some half-assed version. DC Nation is truly screwed, I wish they move the block up to Saturday night, replacing the Adult Swim block from 9:00 to 11:30 right before Toonami starts. Since Cartoon Network pretty much stops at 9:00, it would be the perfect to air a bunch of DC shows, possibly finally get that 3rd season of Young Justice.
Oh, so he WAS a cyborg by the time he showed up in Smallville! I figured his accident/surgery/transformation happened after the series ended, like Clark donning the tights.
Hells kitchen is an actual block in new York. So its continuity is still in both universes. Actually im suprised its in dc cause they have metropolis and Gotham but I geuss new York still exist...
So I was driving home from work tonight and "Lovin' Every Minute of It" comes on the radio. When I got home I looked it up and I can't believe there are no Cyborg amvs with that song. I mean the very first line is "I'm not a man or machine, I'm just something in-between!" It's freaking ABOUT a Cyborg who's loves life. Sounds like Mr. Stone to me!
Why no scenes from Justice League War and Flashpoint or any mention of New 52 where he enters the big leagues and becomes a founding member of the Justice League.
Cool! Glad to see Cyborg get spotlighted on an origins episode. I loved Cyborg when he was a Teen Titan. I even have his first appearance comic. Hopefully more Titans and the Atom are shown in future videos.
Cyborg is my favourite character out of any superhero. It seems like it would be so cool to have his powers, the ones in the teen titans animated series
Okay please whoever edits these videos the cross eyd robbin picture is too good! In future every time robin is mentiond just that picture full screen. I'm begging you.
you should do Mr. Terrific...not many people know about him but he's kind of a major player in DC...being the second smartest man in the universe and all...also you should do origins of Omega Level mutants, like Franklin Richards and Hope Summers. I think this series would serve better to give origin stories on lesser known but equally prominent figures in the comic universe
When there's trouble you know what to doooooooooo... CALL CYBORG!! He can shoot a rocket from his shoooooooe... CUZ HE'S CYBORG!!! To the tune of something like that, OH YEAH!! Na na na na na, big fluffy cat! THAT'S RIGHT!!!
I dont like how Cyborg is on the JL in the New 52 I prefer him as a Titans member it just fits more to me...probably cuz i grew up watching the CN cartoon
I like that he is on the JL I don't like how he got there however. I always hoped the Cyborg with experience would be the one on the JL. But he's literally the new kid on the block here. Just feels they lost alot of what makes him a great character. And he seems to be the only one on the team whose all the way back to ground zero in development.
If they don't include Cyborg in the Justice League movie then I would to see him in a Teen Titans movie trilogy. It could take place in the same universe as the JL movie universe but maybe 15-20 years after the final JL movie where Bruce Wayne is an old man and is retired as Batman but recruits and assembles an elite team of young superheroes to defend humanity which consists of Robin/Nightwing, Green Arrow, Raven, Sapphire, Beast Boy, and Cyborg!
Batman has actually kinda done something like this in the comics they were called the outsiders (don't ask me why) they were a small group of heroes recruited by batman (in his 30s) to work under his guidance.
stelex13 I think I remember them! In that case, I would like to see an Outsiders movie trilogy where Bruce Wayne is in his late 50's to early 60's where he is retired as Batman and Gotham City is infested with crime since Batman's disappearance and Wayne decides to form an elite team of young superheroes with Robin or Nightwing as the team's field leader and the main protagonist of the movie trilogy without him hogging all the spotlight! Cyborg would be a Great addition to the team!
stelex13 Well, I think Batman would be pick Robin/Nightwing to be in the team as well as to make him the team leader because of the fact that Robin's parents were murdered just like his (Wayne/Batman) and understands where he's coming from and tries to help him control the rage and vengeance in his heart. I have a good idea for a scene in the beginning where Wayne/Batman stops him from killing a mob boss after Robin kicks the s*** out of a bunch of mafia gangsters and a small-time street gang in a abandoned warehouse during a drug-deal when he (Robin) was a lone vigilante. Other members of the team could be Green Arrow, Sapphire, Raven, Beast Boy, Cyborg, Geo-Force, and Black Lightning. Maybe the villains for the first film could be Kobra/Blackadders and Dr. Hugo Strange, Brainwave and Checkmate or Suicide Squad in the second film, and Felix Faust, Gorilla Grodd, and Chang Zu for the third and final film!
You guys forgot his very first animated appearance in The Superpowers Team Galactic Guardians. And the first time he was officially a member of JL in the new 52 JL.
I miss the Cyborg, you told the origin of... Cyborg's origin in the "New52", was lame... Cyborg being a founding member of the Justice League was just ridiculous, just like most of the 'New52" is...
Jim Gorr I pick up DC in trades i actually do like some of their series Batman,Green Arrow as of issue 17, Aquaman from issue like 9. But MOST of the stuff DC is putting out is crap don't even get me started on their lack of diversity in their comics (there's like 8 non Batman or Superman related characters DC actually gave their own series too) and generic art style for basically all the comics. Plus the fact that you don't really get a shared universe feeling like you do with Marvel. But ignoring that stuff Marel is just putting out so much better stuff. So many thing Marvel is putting out is great it's why i pick them up as comics while i can wait for trades of DC because Marvels are soo good i don't want to wait for the trades to read the great comics they have going on.
Oh I agree... Dan DiDio is a blight on the comic book industry...The "New52", for the most part is an unorganized pile, and they make stuff up on the fly... Wally West, is now a 15year old black kid, ridiculous with a side of face palm... My only problem is their never ending parade of events... I even stopped buying any company wide events, but I will be getting Original Sin, because it actually does sound interesting... The Marvel book, I'm eagerly awaiting is Spider-Man 2099... I just wish Cloak & Dagger would get a new series...
I'm a little unclear about the New 52. Is this a new universe with the old one being destroyed or is this like a divergent timeline that's being focused on with the old one staying intact.
"I got the sonic if you got da boom"
Damn that brings back memories. Khary Payton's voice is just too goo, best cyborg ever.
Your comment brought back memories!!
go play injustice he voices cyborg in the game
The Teen Titans was was by far my favorite super hero show and comic book series.
I own injustice
good game i mostly play green arrow and batgirl

He's the reason *Booyah* became my catchphrase from Middle-high school xD
teen titans was a dope show

MrLyndonBJohnson Well said.
Aw, yeah.
The show was great, except for that doppleganger of a man!
dontquestionthisname wish they made a live action movie
now a founding member of the Justice League. Making him the first Titan to make on the big screen.
+J Dawg true, but that doesn't count, since that Robin failed ro make an impression.
+J Dawg also Cyborg is getting a solo film.
can't wait.
What about Robin?
No conformation about Robin yet, but judging from Ryan Potter's audition tape, I'd say we're most likely to get Tim Drake's Robin. Assuming Ben's Batman allows another Robin to exist after the death of Jason Todd
at 0:49, look at robins fucking face
DEEUUUGHHHHUHHH!
cyborg was great in Justice League War
why does CN not bring teen titans back. I ain't watching teen titans go >:(
lol they need to bring young justice back if you ask me :)
Xanxus Dude I love that show too! I don't know why they cancelled it :'(
MaskOfBrutality Because, It is too adult and boring.
yea. I liked the original one better than this cartoony child crap.
Montier Curtus they cancelled young justice because of teen titans go which was a stupid move lol

cimpcimp you missed out spawn, if he counts as an actual 'hero', being a hellspawn and all
cimpcimp What I want to see is a teen titans live action movie or tv show and have Ron Perlman or Manu Benet to play slade
Great video, Cyborg's past is quite interesting I never knew its past despite I was a teen titans fans and Cyborg was my fav. I want the Raven/Starfire for the next origins.

Daniel Scott they're not going to call themselves the Fantastic Four in the new movie? Well that's stupid.
Cyborg should be a much more popular character & should have his own show already smh
You are so right
***** He has his own show in the New 52?? haha
***** It's koo bro lol
+ezthejedi well hes getting a movie right? thats good enough for me! bigger budget, probably a better actor. etc etc.

+Alexis Corrente you are
Its not racist...
+Ivan Pino ITT people who just don't get the joke
Ivan Pino stereotypes
Sweet. Can't wait for Starfire, Raven, and Beast Boy when they are eventually made!
this was an amazing backstory. probably my favorite of all the teen titans :)

Cyborg is the one DC character i find of the most interesting in the Justice League. I'm gonna see all the movies, but I'm seriously looking forward to Cyborg's movie the most!
I hate the fact that almost every superhero has to be a genius.
Or have a dead parent...or be in an accident...
Well would you want a dumb superhero instead?
LitithsClaptrap no, but i'd like to see one...like...THE TICK!
LitithsClaptrap I have to ask you a question. Are you a genius ? Probably not... Does that mean you are dumb ?
Nicore
Well I was kinda making a joke, but whatever.
Next, BEAST BOY!
Better yet, Beast boy, Raven AND Starfire!!!
Robin: Are we cool?
Cyborg: Frosty. *fist bump*
Cyborg taught me how to answer when my friends say, "are we cool?" I'll be like, "frosty."
Damn, no mention of how he is now a member of the justice league and show some clips from Justice League War, Flashpoint paradox, Justice League Doom
I was thinking the same thing
Ray Fisher has been cast to play Victor Stone/Cyborg in the Man of Steel 2. I can't wait to see him on the big screen

0:47 DERP ROBIN!
What exactly did robin say?
oh my god his eyes!!! XD
Cyborgs the best! All the titans are! Hope they get a proper reboot after Teen Titans Go... the original's dynamic was quite a spectacle!
BobaabooPK Screw a reboot: finish the series. The last episode introduced a new villain, brought back two characters and set up a plot. Finish it.
+BobaabooPK They will be DC`s answer to the Avangers.
if a movies would be done right with elements of the original comic and the show it'd be a good summer film
+Nicolas nah thats the leagur
I love the bro chemistry between Cyborg and Beast Boy.
0:49 - Robin's Derp face!
Can we all just take a moment to laugh our asses off at the bottom panel Robin at 0:47 I'm dying right now!
Melancholy2Hell too funny!
See I want to see these origin videos apply to any fiction, not just superheroes. Like maybe do a Star Trek origins or something.
i usually dont watch superhero orgins but this i had to watch because of the old teen titans cartoons from around 2003-2006
I'm surprised you you guys didn't do Falcon yet. You know with the new Captain America movie and all.
Origins of the Question, the Shredder and Azreal.
*Azrael. His name is Jean-Paul Valley, and he was the last of a group of assassins. I can't quite remember the name of the group, but I remember something about like Saint Dumas. u didn't mention his awesome catchphrase "Booya!"
/Kim Possible catchphrase
Yip, he's awesome.
Now do Raven.
I'd do her anytime!
Adrian Rodriguez Hehehe....and Starfire too
I only watched this because Cyborg is in Teen Titans. I love that show.
So the original writer of his origin thought that home-schooled kids never leave their house and don't know what cars are?
a teen titans movie would make guardians of the galaxy look like power rangers
anthony hamlin yes please yessss!!!
Careful what you wish for...

I only knew about Cyborg, Raven and Starfire ( Beast boy too) only through the Teen Titans show. Then I see Cyborg getting VERY involved with the Justice League in the recent years which is great but confused the shit out of me
Lee was great as Cyborg on Smallville. I will miss his wonderful talent
Justice Leage: War (animated movie)
I saw that movie it epic
FINALLY YOU MADE THE ORIGINS OF MY FAVOURITE SUPER HERO!
Wow, i like the original origin the best.
Seriously, that could be a movie right there.
GET ON IT DC/WB
Always my favorite D.C. Character. Can't wait till ray fisher gets his movie in 2020.
RAVEN IS SO HOOOOOT!!!
So much porn of her .... So much
all of it good
Man I frickin love the old Teen Titans cartoon. And I'm really glad that Cyborg's actually becoming a major member of the Justice League now. That's pretty cool.
robin was cross eyed as hell XD lmao 48sec in
0:48 the eyes of a person that has no fucks to give
You guys made me urinate on myself, I sure hope you're happy.
just made my day hahaha
I am not the only one who saw that XD lol yes!!!
"I got the sonic if you got the boom" Man I love that show. It's the reason cyborg is my favorite hero.
Man CN really screwed up by cancelling the teen titans.
Yeah, and replacing it with some half-assed version.
DC Nation is truly screwed, I wish they move the block up to Saturday night, replacing the Adult Swim block from 9:00 to 11:30 right before Toonami starts. Since Cartoon Network pretty much stops at 9:00, it would be the perfect to air a bunch of DC shows, possibly finally get that 3rd season of Young Justice.
dantemustdie00 What they need is a teen titans live action tv show with Ron Perlman or Manu Benet playing Slade
These origins are awesome! Keep em coming!
rip lee thompson young, aka jett jackson
wow the 1980's origins was DEEP I never knew it was so close to home..
Oh, so he WAS a cyborg by the time he showed up in Smallville! I figured his accident/surgery/transformation happened after the series ended, like Clark donning the tights.
wow didn't kno his back story was so good
Nothing was said about Cyborg banging Jinx BOOYAH!
Ah, the memories of Cyborg
What episode is the one at 3:46

*Derp.*
A true hero abd friend to the teen titans and the justice league.Cyborg is truly one of the greatest heroes of all time.
be calm and...
azarath mitrion zinthos
I didn't know about the true origin in the comics because I did watch the show.
Man that's pretty deep.
I only have one thing to say...............BOO YAH!
I'm not only a fan of Cyborg, he's one of my favorite DC heroes
wait "to go live in Hells Kitchen"? isnt that from marvel?
Hells kitchen is an actual block in new York. So its continuity is still in both universes. Actually im suprised its in dc cause they have metropolis and Gotham but I geuss new York still exist...
Zachary Rorvik ah gotcha
So I was driving home from work tonight and "Lovin' Every Minute of It" comes on the radio. When I got home I looked it up and I can't believe there are no Cyborg amvs with that song. I mean the very first line is "I'm not a man or machine, I'm just something in-between!" It's freaking ABOUT a Cyborg who's loves life. Sounds like Mr. Stone to me!
You guys should do Raven! ^-^
Been a fan since the first time I saw him. Wish there was a movie.
don’t worry they’ll make one
Why no scenes from Justice League War and Flashpoint or any mention of New 52 where he enters the big leagues and becomes a founding member of the Justice League.
Because it's stupid he's not a founding member! Only in the new 52
BOO-YAH!
Cool! Glad to see Cyborg get spotlighted on an origins episode. I loved Cyborg when he was a Teen Titan. I even have his first appearance comic. Hopefully more Titans and the Atom are shown in future videos.
This was before Teen Titans Go, where he was a man-child
Cyborg is my favourite character out of any superhero. It seems like it would be so cool to have his powers, the ones in the teen titans animated series
Can we get a superhero origins for raven?
I loved Cyborg from the old series. So hilarious to see him get ticked over BB's pranks.
The Justice League trailer brought me here
same
Okay please whoever edits these videos the cross eyd robbin picture is too good! In future every time robin is mentiond just that picture full screen. I'm begging you.
one word: booyah
you should do Mr.
My favorite character from the animated series of Teen Titans, was really awesome to hear about his origins since I've never read any comics.
How does Cyborg not have a movie? And flashbacks in another movie don’t count
Batman has actually kinda done something like this in the comics they were called the outsiders (don't ask me why) they were a small group of heroes recruited by batman (in his 30s) to work under his guidance.
stelex13
I think I remember them!
Pack man sounds pretty nice but who else would be on the tem remember you got to pick people that would trust/work with batman
stelex13
Well, I think Batman would be pick Robin/Nightwing to be in the team as well as to make him the team leader because of the fact that Robin's parents were murdered just like his (Wayne/Batman) and understands where he's coming from and tries to help him control the rage and vengeance in his heart.
Do the origins of Beast Boy
It's awesome that cyborg is now getting his own solo movie!
I miss the Cyborg, you told the origin of... Cyborg's origin in the "New52", was lame... Cyborg being a founding member of the Justice League was just ridiculous, just like most of the 'New52" is...
Yep Marvle comics where it's at.
I do actually read a few "Ne52" books, Batwoman, Earth2, and World's Finest to name a couple...
I think back in the day cyborg was on of the first real black superheroes that I saw, I didn't count black vulcan cause I never saw him in comics
