Thanks, nice to see some proper non bullshido explanations and application. I used to box and also do internal arts for over twenty years, I have come to the place where I believe that push hands may well not be a combative art, but a meditative art that ups sensitivity.
Tui shou and Chi sao is like the bridge between boxing and wrestling, something like trapping and clinch fighting, also a good exercise to understand body mechanics. In shaolin weng chun we say, heaven chi sao is long trapping (lower opponent hand to strike him better for example), man chi sao is for example the thai clinch where you can knee and elbow or the judo, shuai jiao, etc grabs, earth chi sao is the clinch like we have in grappling, BJJ, freestyle wrestling etc. If you understand how to use the energies in your opponent you will be able to manipulate him pushing, pulling, upwards, sideways, downwards, forward, backward.... You can do that standing and on ground fighting as well. This is a way to wrestle but also a way to understand how to use our body to avoid strikes by deflecting, continuous footwork, parrying, blocking, head novement, distance control, etc
