Not sure how many years I have been watching this channel, but every year, watching Zach and his dad work together give me joy. My dad and I never farmed, but we cut a lot of firewood. We spent so many hours cutting wood together, we didn’t even have to talk, just gestures and looks we know what needed to be done. That’s how I see Zach and his dad working, and I love it. Onyx will likely be next up in the process! Keep it going Zach, our country exists in large part for families like yours!

I never thought about a farm being broken up into wide spread fields. I always pictured a farm as a HUGH single plot of land. This is a fascinating channel. It really makes me appreciate farmers. The whole country has been having extreme weather. We’ve had 57 tornadoes so far this year in South Carolina, which is more than what we normally get in 12 months. Back towards the beginning of April we had an outbreak of 15 tornadoes in 2 days which ended up killing 3 people. The last time we had a deadly tornado was 2004. The tornadoes in our state are normally EF0s or EF1s that cause no damage but that storm made EF2s and EF3s.

I learned long ago not to fight Dandelions. They are a friend and seem to love compacted soil. Their big long tap root will aerate and break up the soil and then they will fade away after the soil gets loosened. Also pull up calcium for other plants without as deep a root. Works wonders in orchards to uncompact from picking.

Zach, make lemonade out of lemons - Turn a part of the empty section of grove into a Blueberry or Haskap rows and mulch the rows with the pines, just a thought. Haskap is easier to manage and doesn't need the acidic PH that BB do.
Edit; Kinda wish you could pull the seed cart/truck w/ the planter to the next field to save on commuting time I bet it's a lot of shuffling back and forth.

They do this with fields further from home, this vid is on fields close to home.

Does it ever cause a problem when you take the planter apart and drop a bunch of seeds? I've always wondered that when you do that with seeds or even fertilizer. Also, peanut butter M&M's are pretty darn good too.

Sensor issues aren't so bad when you know to ignore them. I mean that thing also went through a tornado, so I think it being a little wonky is okay.

Until one doesn't let you do anything. Had a hydraulic oil extremely low sensor go bad and wouldn't let me do anything until I unplugged it lol.. but you still have flashing stop machine NOW lights flashing at you

Yes the problem is the sensor issues that shut down the planter and won't let you do anything. Technology is great. When it works.

I'm glad you and the family are safe and well. Glad you are finally able to plant. As always good luck and God Bless.
