    Best 1.2 turbo on the market.
    Cooling system for turbo and intercooler is unique.

      it takes 10 years later for Toyota to deliver its own Turbo gasoline engine to the main market vs others. Toyota does not experiment on people and fix it later like what VW, GM, and Ford do.

      @Jack S I chose Hybrid 2.0 L, the best for most driving condition and proven reliable system since 1998. 1.2 T will have less problems than VW or Ford but it is direct injections only. The 2.0L has direct and ports injectors, no carbon build up on the valves. If you choose hybrid, gets after 2015, cylinder rings is revised and zero oil consumption. 2013 also not bad but avoid 2010-2012 (head gasket) and oil consumption. 1.8 L has good torque below 2000 rpm, but less torque than any Turbo. 2.0L has good HP and torque but at high rpm. 2.0L hybrid is still faster than 1.2 T but not 1.8L

      @Jack S Expensive/cheap is calculated by: Buy-resale values +repair cost and maintenance + Fuel Cost. In 5 years, we save £4000 from fuel difference if we drive 10k miles per year, the resale value after 6 years probably still £7000 more than 1.2T at 60k miles. HV battery has 15 years warranty (last more than 17 years/500k miles), and we only need to change the transmission fluid every 60-100k miles. That's it for the maintenance, brake hardly ever wear out, no periodic intake valves cleaning needed. The range in hybrid is more than 600 miles and still cheaper than any EV these days for fuel/electricity.

      @Jack S I'm just sharing my own experience. I had 2006 prius, pass 221k miles without any major problem when selling it in 2017. Now I drive auris 1.8 L hybrid at 100k miles. Transmission fluid is the only one I need and sparkplugs at 120k miles. The rubber on rear stabilizer bar links need replacement because I drive in mountain often. It cost £45 parts and 10 mins job with only one 14 mm nuts removal. Aftermarket parts from Febest cost only £12 but I prefer Toyota parts.

      @@rondhole So the choice between Hybri (1.8L) (2016) and 1.2L Turbo (2016) would be 1.2L Turbo I guess?

      Wer allerdings kein Auto für die Autobahn sucht, wird mit dem Hybrid gut hinkommen.

      Richtig, das muß man sich bewusst sein. Der Hybrid macht aber erstaunlich viel Spaß wenn man langsamer fährt. Ein sehr seltsames Feeling, muss man selbst mal erlebt haben.

      Actually redline at 5500 it's not really surprising in the Audi A3 1.4 Tfsi pretty much the same its a turbo car and not naturally aspirated so no need to have allot of Rpms

    • @Jenicek25
      @Jenicek25 7 років тому +4

      Diesel is D-4D. This is D-4T what is direct injected turbo charged petrol engine, so title is correct. It is 1.2 Turbo petrol engine
      @furkanugur - it is normal for turbocharged engines (both petrol and diesel) that they have red line starting at lower rpm compared to atmospheric petrol engines. It doesn't make any sense to run turbocharged engine it to the max rpm anyway since the max power and torque are available from cca. 1500 - 4000 rpm only, then the power reduces. It is very different from old atmospheric engines, where max power/torque is available in high rpm (usually 5500-6000 rpm).

      Mine is currently at 6.1 liters/100 km and I have been driving it for roughly 3 months. I drive a mixture of short distance routes, city and Autobahn, so i guess 6.1 L/100km it is a good overall estimate. I am sure that I will bring average consumption even lower in the future though. I still have to brake to much ;)
