- Rebecca Jackson tests the 2015 Toyota Auris to see if this family car has got what it takes to rival the best in class. With a hybrid in the range, it certainly makes a compelling option.

if toyota makes a boring looking car, it's 'dull'. if VW makes one, it's 'classy' or 'conservative'.
Toyota is awesome, VW is shit
Yes. The banana makes a big comeback, thank you Rebecca.
It's a great looking car. Very distinctive and a welcome change from the German makes.
Yea big that's a big fuck to German automakers for robbing poeple with they're reliability problems and expensive services and bad engineered cars
@@nicotang5583 iv owned 3 Toyota cars not one has gone wrong not one burns more than 250 ml in 15 000 km...
Toyota auris 2014 1.8 hsd I still own it
Toyota Corolla 2019 1.2 turbo nothing has gone wrong in abusing it like mad.. Just obeying the service manual oil changes as it should be...
Toyota yaris 1.5 hybrid like clock runs
Toyota Avensis 1.6 2001 just the intake gasket gone wrong at 18 years 25 euro cost to fix I fixed it myself so no laboy on that I'm a mechanic
I only watch Telegraph cars only for Rebecca. Can't get enough of her!
***** get over
Agreed
***** +1
+Vane Naumovski She's hot but she sounds like Trisha Takanawa.
that voice 😅
Finally, it isn't just a facelift. There have been changes to the suspension and engine line up.
I don't know if I'm going to love the car but I definitely love you Rebecca
You know, as a South African citizen, I already love this car. More especially in manual transmission. I would purchase and drive it all the time, every time.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great! I've been looking for a car with decent banana storage.
Toyota never dies. Japan quality, that's why!!
I don't at all understand why she complains about the rear visibility while parking when the car has an excellent reversing camera?
This is an old commend, but I wanted to say it's because of the very small rear window.
Could you do a review on the jeep renegade I'm debating to buy one or not
The best looking front upgrade ever
It's not much use pointing out negative aspects of the car when there's no indication as to why they're bad. You said the touchscreen wasn't the best - why? Rear visibility is poor - why not show us? Understandably you can't prove that a car is or isn't fun to drive, but there are some parts of this review that you could have elaborated on visually. Great otherwise!
Ewen Simpson that's a really good point, i for one could have gone for a quick camera shot of the rear view ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I love the new (or updated...) look!
Me too
She looks the same?
Rebecca, you are always in my mind
I only subscribed to this channel for the girl. Her voice is amazing.
I want that car when I grow up because that is awsome
I'm drooling, did she just talk about a car?! lol. The front of the car looks pretty awesome it's the back of the car that lets it down.
I am japanese.
I have this model. AURIS is a good car!
Does the car has two different types of headlight unit.? Japanese version vs European version, they have different headlight?
@@chuongtrung There is a difference between the early model and the second model. The car in this video is the same as the one in Japan.
well i drive a toyota auris on a 58 plate , love the car except the suspenion is a bit rough when driveing . but looking at the new hybrid toyota , it has great looks perfect wheels nice coloure, as for the dash , well im impressed , it perfect looking in every way, it would be the car for me, even petrel is best as it makes the car very silent, but diesal dose go further.if i had the money yes i would buy the car of my likeing, its the car for me.
There's nothing dull about this car. It has its own character and the interior looks modern and crisp. Don't see how the qualifty could be any better. There's enough soft touch material and it all seems solid. Great car.🚗👍
It looks boring. I prefer Golf. No Golf? Poor. You rich? I’m rich.
@@TFSIChristmas Not rich but a Golf is indeed a great car, however that doesn't make the Toyota dull. It's far more reliable as well
@@Firemarioflower having a car is wealth for anyone else around in a good family and house is rich and that’s the Golf, thenAuris is horrible. Golf all day. I get you though.
Did you know that the Char Aznable drives an auris? The zeonic toyota model which rivals the Zaku
are there any banana storage areas in this vehicle ?
Glad to see the infamous banana test again xD And a great review as always!
I wish they would mention if the car has a full size spare tyre or a space saver. I've had a Golf for three years and just found out it has a shitty space saver tyre when the adverts on Arnold Clark had said it had a full size spare tyre. I was well pissed off when I noticed!
Go to a Toyota dealer and ask or take a look at yourself open the trunk and search for the spare tire.
Only for 5 year warranty and for a great reliability it's quit worth the buy + allot less dull than the golf.i really like the auris in black with tinted windows soooo nice
Is that what we are getting in the U.S. as the Scion iM?
matt k Yes.
What style watch are you wearing in the video? I really like it.
The looks sharper than Focus or Golf. The handling is much better with independence rear suspension and interior quality is similar to Golf but with Toyota reliability. The hybrid is so quiet and easily get 3.5L/100 Km at 100Km/h behind truck/bus. Just pass 100 0000 Km without any glitch besides maintenance (oil change, filters), no repair and pass Tuev in not time. With the wind drag without any car in front of Auris, 4.1 L/100 Km at 100 Km/h, 6L/100 Km at 130 Km/h. So, if you are not in hurry, 100 Km/h is the sweet spot and even better driving behind truck/bus. Less fuel, less wear on tires (smaller traction required), and safe. Truck/Bus cannot brake that fast unlike regular car, we always have enough distance and time to brake. The only problem is possibility of flying object if the bus/truck tires failed. It is unlikely in Europe since Truck only max at 100Km/h not like in USA, many semitruck drive at 130 Km/h.
first time Toyota has caught my attention. must be Rebecca.
2:19 Is it the camera or is the suspension really shaky? She says it's comfortable but i can't imagine it being very fun to drive when it just feels like it's riding waves rather than gliding ove the road.
Makyajlı Auris Türkiye ye eski motorlar ile geldi ,yeni motorları özellikle 1.2 turbo benzinli motoru Türkiye ye bekliyoruz.
They should have a black auris looks wonderful and the lounge edition with leather seats and nice rims :)
Just in case you need 53 bananas with you while you drive.
i would like to know about oil, how much it needs every 1000 kmh.
20000km/1 year.
@@benjaminschmied7998 Benjamin you must b bananas,😂🤣 not the service interval, how much does it burn every 1000 miles
What shes doing with the Bananas? :-O
the only interesting thing about this car is the fact that it brought the bananas back! Yay for BANANAS!
Rebecca WHERE IS THE AUDIO QUALITY?!!!!!!
This Auris is having independent rear suspension?
A lot of nonsense comments here along with Rebecca s review, dull, boring, what else?!
Dull because is Toyota , boring because is reliable and ugly because is modern, please stop complaining and go get a cheated vag car and spend the rest of your days in the dealers forecourts for repairs of you handsome gti or s3
Good luck
S-tech well said at last someone with sense.
All ya stupid dont u know that Toyota makes the most reliable cars! The almighty 2jz Supra, Lexus LFA of all time!!!
Mohapi Tau if not mistaking sadly lots of new cars are made with Reno engines ...I don't thrust french cars I thrust Japanese ....
sorry there's no way you can comfortably fit 3 adults I the back of that car, I also love the way she pulls the hand brake up at 3:26 in the video without pushing the button in, I probably agreed with about 10% of what this video was actually saying.
Test drove the 1.2T + automatic and in normal "eco" mode the computer keeps the revs very very low resulting in a quite sluggish experience. There's no gear indicator in the dashboard which was confusing. In "sport" mode it feels much more lively and accelerates decently. A golf with 1.2TSI+DSG feels much more lively in the standard mode.
The hybrid is the one to get for city driving!
There are no gears in the automatic, Toyota uses CVT.
I think any subcompact would look much spacious with her in it.
from carbuyer?
Auris 1.2 turbo nun Türkiye dede satışını yetkililerden bekliyoruz.
Very very well built
boring car may seem but aftermarket japan tuning parts will blast this car passing an M4 i bet. hahaha
why is it toyota goes out of their way to give their cars the personality of a refrigerator...
fabulousprofound i like it ...
+lalos me too very nice car in black
fabulousprofound Really? It seems like Toyota hasn't really given any of its cars household appliance like personality since 2000s as it started asking its European division to design those newer cars.
I believe that's actually the point of them, they want to be like white goods so people choose them for their reliability and how they sit in the background whilst you go live your life. Sadly the days of Toyota being a serious performance brand seem to have long gone...
bananas in the glove box. yeah. sure. typical day.
It's a joke.
need more pictures of the boot
With all due respect, cars present with Rebecca is a bit of visual trickery. With her length seems every small car an 'SUV'. It doesn't really matter whether they have beautiful face or not (!?) they must have a regular length to have a realistic view of the car. Her voice is beautiful and speaks nicely.
lol, the pre facelift looks better (not good, but better).
Love the music!
Why does she always use bananas? Big bottle of water makes more sense i think:)
how to lanch in india
It looks better than a focus for definite but its nowhere near a Merc
We'll have to say a merc a180 2014 and a auris 2014 hsd version lounge in black with tinted windows is really really close to the a klass.
+you get a great Toyota warranty 5 years + good reliability
I like Toyota Auris 2015 review | TELEGRAPH CARS
Shame about the poor camera angles as far as the car itself is concerned and no look at the touch screen or dials.
Rebbecca is a lovely lady. She speaks real good English for the foreign friends to understand her easily. She does her job very good! But please do not take every time so much bananas to put in the glove box.It is time for a change,e.g have some apples. As for the TOYOTA, i already own an Auris, yes it is a good car so far, but ugly.I have to say that the firm should hire a master designer to design better cars and this the sooner the better!Japanese people like art, and i can not explain how on earth they produce those food cans!
What's with the random music at 0:36 to 0:45
Good very informative
She loves them bananas ! :) Happy to see her , she is real cute.
Yes , reliable boring dull Japanese cars vs good looking well build , good design and mostly reliable German cars... hard choice...will go for the German ones , feel good to get inside the car , not bored to death.
Old bananas new shoes! Ooh Rebecca
Did she say a 1.6 engine FROM BMW?
tbh I completely forgot about the car....everything is going well.😉
Interior not as good as VW Golf? Are you kidding me?? VW interiors look like they're from the 90's
New golfs have good interiors but on the exterior this one is soo beautiful and personally not dall at all but certainly not in silver.this car is best with the lounge version with leather on the dash and on the seats ,moonroof, and tinted windows they are perfect for a black auris
lcpd26 Yeah, the new Auris is a stunner. Toyota has really upped their design game.
I beg to differ, I don't think even the newer Golfs interiors are good. I've driven a couple of them and the infotainment system is really bad.
ballbeam
fully agree actually the auris lounge version looks like a premium german car audi, mercedes or bmw just a bit of lack on the interior but nothing major if you actually think the accessories that toyota gives you in the lounge hybrid version of the auris are enormous list
Heated seats.sunroof.cvt automatic,automatic headlights,automatic wipers,gps,good stereo,fog lights,rear view cam,rear beepers(sensors)+front,key less entry (key in pocket),half leather seats,dashboard with leather,armest lethaer,dual zone ac,Low profile tyres+very nice rims
Amazing accessory list for only 25 000 euros
if you buy a mercedes wich without any of the accessories not even gps costs 24 000 euros baseprice with not even a metallic color.and less horsepower. A180 petrol 125HP,
auris hybrid 136HP.
Forgot the park pilot
lcpd26 I too fully agree. The germans can't compete on pricing with the japanese.
As much as I like that classic VW feel and touch that most of their cars have I just can't help but to think they're simply overpriced for what they are. They're really not as reliable as people seem to think.
We're thought to think that the germans really got this car thing figured out, that they're the most reliable and high quality but that's usually not the case. Often the japanese surpass them in many ways. Not all, but many.
As a Prius owner for several years I can testify that I've never had a single mechanical error with tens of thousands of kilometers driven. Same goes with my current Nissan Leaf, no mechanical error as of yet. (Although that's not so strange, it's fully electric and as such mechanical errors are quite rare.)
Her bananas seem to be reaching some kind of a cult level
Great car!!!
I love this car
Rebecca looks bored doing this review. Looks like she's just reading a script and tried to get this review done as quick as possible. Don't blame her as the car is boring and dull.
Bob Jones or sick
Bob Jones I was about to point the exact same thing. She seems so bored... well as bored as the Auris.
Bob Jones
She has to try and pretend to be enthusiastic about the car. :)
Bob Jones
She should really just review the boxster every week, she could do different models, different colors, different roads, it would be very watchable. :)
Bob Jones i don't think theres a car on earth more boring that a toyota corolla/auris
Why is it that you only use bananas as something to be stored in all of your videos?
I don't think Rebecca was over-impressed with this car. Pity she didn't also drive the Hybrid. Not the usual through review from Rebecca.
It's not a thrilling car but for me it's allot better than a golf 2014-15 which the golf is way uglier outside and more dull allot actually
who the hell leaves bananas in their cars
Rebecca gets beautiful everyday
What is the relationship between review and bananas
nice car i love it!!!
Someone that's 5'5 shouldn't talk about space...
Is this car RWD??? Thanks.
no
no
I prefer the front design of the 2012/prelift version! Auris are stunning in red colour and what I like about Auris is that all colour options are metallic unlike greedy Germans especially VW. I hate VW interiors! Looks like old Mazdas..
I love this auris the front grill didn't need change but I like the bottom part of the bumper I think that it didn't worsen the look but didn't need change that's all though the back is magnificent with the rear lights when lighten have like the Audi tail light design magnificent my dad has the 2014 hsd lounge auris and it's good and very nice to drive the new one interior wise I like it allot German cars make me sick the interior of the golf is so fucking boring this one is different and nice to me :) and exterior wise looks like a Audi but not boring it looks like a premium car really I like it + YOU GET RELIABILITY
+lcpd26 Agreed! Coming from a corolla, I was impressed at how many options this thing has. The doors close with a nice sound, adjustable headlights, touch door handles to unlock/lock, and the cvt gives a smoother ride although I prefer conventional automatic(high revs don't even sound as good as my corolla), but the semiautomatic mode shifts like an F1 with a nice kick. The interior of the A class & Golf are not more premium than the Auris. It's got the best looks for a hatchback in my opinion and since it costs sightly less than the Germans or French, it was an awesome deal. And Toyota has a better brand name and resale value!
+F1JunGT yeah my dad has a auris hsd 2014 he had enough of money to buy a Mercedes's a180 and he really wasn't impressed about the power neither the driving of the merc the auris was very easy to drive and get comfortable with so this is why he bought it he new reliability was great and value for money !! Leather seats panoramic sunroof tinted back windows auto wipers and lights ,heated seats etc
Great car and now my dad says he never regretted to not have bought a Mercedes or Audi the Audi drives better than the auris but value for money + the service cost 300€ rather than 150€ for the Toyota was a enormous difference.
I'm happy that you agree with me I like how new feels like the golf or the Audi A3 looks really similar like the old one the auris doesn't look at all with the old one of 2010 that's what I like japaneese cars start it from the start and
Make new design new chassis new interior they don't look alike German cars are boring and Ifell they don't have a soul like japanes
The dashboard looks better than any golf I've ever seen that's silly talk comparing boot space to golf's as well she's totally biased to vw
At the end of all that all I wanted was a banana
Why the hell are you driving a manual?
If She sells this car each and everyone of you guys are just going to buy it with a nodding head....😂
she looks beautiful , car is average .
Love her figure. Nice car too 👍🏽
1:10 Oh, Jesus. She has great place for bananas.
Pretty driver!!
1.2 Turbo Motorlu Auris i Türkiyeye bekliyoruz.
Not a patch on the Civic
Hybrids in Europe are a waste of Money
Auris Hybrid 20.000 Pounds
Auris Petrol 1.4L it costs Around 14.000 Pounds when will you get your £6000 back ???
Hybrids are useful if you want a good equipped car (leather seats.auto wipers auto lights etc) and a auto transmission car and then they are really worth it and they have allot bigger discounts on dealers on hybrids
Hybrids & optional extras are 2 completely different things , you can have a badly equipped Hybrid or a extremely well equipped non Hybrids , following your ridiculous Logic Toyota Prius are ( All ) premium
+SuperNiceguy60 well I mean my dad wanted to buy a auris but had to be automatic had to have leather seats and some other stuff take a petrol auris (lounge) same equipment auto transmission multidrive and then the hybrid model Toyota offered 3000€ decrease of price on hybrid and petrol only 2000€ so yeah hybrid was better there !! Cheaper ! Now if you want to have a manual car yes hybrid don't worth it !!
Except if you do enormously big mileage like 20 000 miles per year
+lcpd26 correction 30 000 miles per year
lcpd26 even if you did 30.000 Miles per year you would not get your money back
we are talking about 6000 Euros price difference , your father felt like he saved 1.000 Euros in reality he wasted 5000
Bananas everywhere haha
Dat audio doe. Pretty shoddy.
The bananas do make the review more awkwardly fun.
Poor quality video with shaky footage and bad sound, looks like a rush job.
BRING BACK THE TAZZZZZZZZ!!!'
9 bananas, cute chick and an Auris secluded in the jungle. I think we all know what’s going down
Wonderful Car ( At March my Car) and Lady :-)
are those bananas organic ?
Those types of cars don't do much for me, prefer bmw s or Aston Martin's
Yes but you see other price tag way more expensive
Jeep Renegade?
She sure loves bananas......lollll
