I found this really stupid too! Don’t do what I did get the day pass each day. Absolutely ridiculous rules in Italy sometimes. It’s an amazing city tho! Love it, enjoy

If I'm not mistaken, an ordinary ticket (after being stamped) is valid for 1h30. During this time you can change lines and (before or after the metro ride) even use all surface transport.
However, once you exit the metro station, you will not be able to reenter with the same ticket.
Hello, it's valid for the amount of time. You can use it anyway you want during the time limit. I would recommend the day pass. Cheers
