- Houlton, Maine, is expected to double in population April 8 when the eclipse blocks out the sun. Johanna Johnston, event coordinator for "Maine Eclipse," says the town could use it after a slow winter for tourism.

Houlton did a great job! The only problem was the strong gusts of winds that blew sand into the air periodically. The sand was probably put on roads from the last snow storm this past week.
There's only 2 hotels in houlton. Nowhere near enough for what might be coming. There is a decent Chinese restaurant near the center of town going towards walmart. Would suggest not parking on people's property or pitching tents unless you have permission also.
The hype is building up. I heard wormwood would be visible.
