3. The Inflation Reduction Act. 💙Thanks to Kamala, meal prices in fast-food restaurants are going down, for the first time in 3 years.
Only one Problem: None of it worked.
Inflation, High Taxes and a Border out of Control.
I dont eat much fast food but I really see a difference in grocery costs. Past few months, price of bacon in my area has dropped considerably. Price of sirloin and other meats have gone down, too. We don't eat as much meat as we did before Covid but I'm able to take advantage of lower prices and add variety to our meals. Being able to purchase a small cut of beef to thinly slice and sautee with fresh veg seems more satisfying & healthier than cheaper/processed meats like hotdogs, sodium packed lunch meats and canned shredded chicken or the like. (I don't recommend can meat but there are ways to prep it when included with a donated holiday food bank box; wont turn away so long as I can find a recipe to help make it palletable.) Bacon is far from fresh/healthy but it's OK to have a small guilty pleasure. Past few months bacon went from $6-$8 down to $3 for store brand and $4-$5 for some name brands. Having access to quality, fresh food has always been important in my household as it is in most others. It's nice being able to steer further away from store brand Hamburger Helpers, frozen pizzas and canned soups or using Prego type can sauces for pasta nights. I'm able to afford ingredients needed to make homemade sauces. Cooking has become a joy again. Sure, analyzing the stock market to determine economical strength is great but most people in my area don't have spare money for investments. Grocery, gas & pharmaceutical prices is how I gage the economy.
Are you crazy? Look at gas prices and mortgage rates. After 4 years they just now are lowering them for the election. FOR THE ELECTION. Food too. Then when they get back in up the prices will go again.
