Hope it goes well, I’m going to look at a bike exactly like this. If everything checks out I’ll be buying it for my first bike too! Did you buy yours yet?
I have an 82 750 Maxim that I've spent a few Year's making into a Cafe Racer. A lot of People said I wouldn't get much Power outta it, but I have the 0-60 down to around 3.6 which I feel is pretty Respectable.
If I had to guess I'd say it's making right around 100hp and probably 60 or so ft/lbs. I lowered the Front about 3 inch's and I'm Running 110 front 140 Rear which really improved Cornering Stability. Its come a long way from the 400 Dollar Junker I bought in 2020.
Torque monster. Great ride if your not 6'6. I helped the new owner set up new handle bars & had the carb rack professionally rejetted, my air box was missing. Great bike over all.
@@ts-vu3dd I'm not stating that it the best ever, compared to modern motorcycles the 1982 Seca is a wet fart. But 80hp @ 7,000rpm was very impressive 41 years ago.
I'm Running a Mac 4 into 1 into a Trumpet style Straight Pipe. It's Jetted out to #130, and I installed Pod Filter's onto the Rubber Boot's from the Factory Airbox because I found Standard Pod's Killed Intake Velocity. @@amatureskater15 Just a Cheepy set that actually came with the Bike. Previous Owner couldn't get them to work right. I ended up using a Die Grinder to open the inlet hole's up between 5 and 10 thou each so they would fit right.

What exhaust does it have? It might just be the video but at first it almost sounded like a v-twin instead of an i4. I just got my wife an XJ 650 but you can barely hear it idle.
It's curious that even 1982 yamaha still got that engine sound which sound similar in most of yamaha's motorcycles even nowadays. But yeah, nice bike. :)

I'd never ride my bike dressed like this, all that bare skin. Always remember what an old timer bike guy told me years ago, just imagine your skin/flesh is like cheese and the road is one giant cheese grater. One of my buddies got hit off his bike wearing jeans and a sleeveless jacket, he was having skin grafts for 18 months and was having to attend hospital appointments for 3 years.
you'll be fine, its heavy but no heavier than a HD. Very easy to balance and maintain.. Just check the carbs and make sure the brakes are solid. Otherwise they are bulletproof and fast as hell. Cheap parts and very good for modding and cafe racer builds. I have 2 of them. Ride slow and easy until you get a good feel and youll be fine. I learned on a giant VMAX so anybody with a calm mindset will be fine.
110-120mph. Rode various times with a fellow rider with an R6 and at about that speed is when he started to pull away despite my wrist turning the accelerator all the way. RPMs were maxing out as well.

What mirrors?
What kind of exhaust
4 -2-1 factory set up to be "track ready"
I have the same bike how do I make it sounds this good?? What did you do with your exhaust?
I've got an 85 xj750 and its sounds similar. I have no mufflers
The Seca had options for a 4 to 2 into 1 exhaust set up. There are still a bunch around.
