In a sick and twisted way, Vader probably loved every second of it. To be on the edge of death yet also knowing full well that he wouldn't fall here.
Plot armor would do that to you.
@@silverslash7276 Force Plot Armor is a skill to both Jedi and a Sith alike, many would consider to be… _unnatural._
@@silverslash7276 Hes the chosen one lol hes not going to lose to some random jedi master
@@silverslash7276In any game Vader is obviously going to win . He dies to luke in the movies lmao. Wouldn’t be canon if he died in some video game
I still think vader was to weak in that fight. I love it when Vader is OP as Hell, I mean he is obviosly much stronger than Cere and easily would demolish her
The worst is when you realise Cal watches it all through his unique force power. So when he touched her body he felt her through the force
yup! It was all a force echo so that must've been awful . Cal really sees a lot of peoples final moments.
No the worst part is that we had to beat this hard ass boss fight just to die at the end
😢😭
“It is delusion to think your actions have had any consequences”
what I loved about that is that Vader wasn’t bragging or being arrogant, he was simply stating a fact, when you’re dealing with one of the most powerful Sith Lords in the galaxy, you really should know better than to think that he would die in a explosion or drowning in an underwater base
But it did have an impact though. The inquisition doesn’t have the list of force-sensitive children, so the amount of inquisitors that are getting trained are not as many as it could have been. Luke and the rebellion won because of all those tiny victories. It left gaps in the empires coverage. Imagine if a squad of inquisitors visited tattoine, the chances that Luke would have gotten found out increase. The inquisitors only need to get lucky once.
How is it a fact when we know The Jedi Win?
Not to mention, that since this takes place at the same time as Kenobi, Vader was probably thinking "yeah, that sucker did it again and even he couldn't do it lol"
Vader watched the movies
Obi Wan, Cere, Ahsoka, none of them aint beating him, that for sure
@@vampirelordx1 and it also explains why the Inquisitors were phased out between 3 BBY - 0 BBY and the ISB eventually took over. They became too expensive and were getting killed off during 'Rebels.'
Cal’s face reaction here is genuinely so heart wrenching
Props to the animators
@@Jjw338it was motion capture, the actors were really there

I started bawling.
I cried. As someone who lost his father as a child and his mother as an adult the parallels to the loss I experienced are there and I can not help but put myself in Cal's place
Cals loss has no bottom even by the end of this game
I'm glad they portrayed Cere as being able to actually fight Vader. She's a Jedi master, so giving him an actual fight should be more than possible. It also helps portray what a badass Vader truly is. One thing I've never liked and never understood why others want it to be so, is seeing a "badass" character, basically, skate over any and everyone that's in their path. A badass is a badass by having an ACTUAL challenge and walking away the victor. Challenges make you awesome. Not having it on easy mode. And Darth Vader proves he can take the tough challenges too. So this fight is beneficial to both parties.
Yeah plus badass needs a struggle that why I like the old darth vader purge comic.
Vader fought Jedi masters on a daily basis, so not really.
@@eho6380 No he didn't. He's gotten fucked up by Jedi Masters in canon.
@@drooskie9525 And he fucked them up in return, Vader defeated a Jedi master without his lightsabre in the Darth Vader comics as an example.
@@eho6380 Who is "Jedi Master" are you referring to exactly?
I'm glad his mask wasn't breached this time.
After Ashoka and Obi-Wan managed that feat, it would have been disappointing if it happened again and again every time Vader fought anyone.
Instead we got him on fire, a pretty cool look.
Don’t forget Starkiller nearly took the whole Mask off when defeated Vader and Vader secret Sith apprentice.
@@jaieregilmore971 It's different because it happened in SW Legends where Vader tended to be everyone's punching bag.
In SW Canon, they made an effort to maintain his aura of invincibility.
@@Paludion Not really the whole aura of invincibility was just in the eyes of the point of view of those weaker than him everyone has a weakness and Vader no exception. Yeah in his early years it justified he was getting used to his current state couldn’t move as Jedi he used to be could never reach his full potential but in every struggle and lost he gets better gain more experience over time and be manipulated his opponents. So yeah Vader can only defeated by an equal, someone the emperor level, Ancient Jedi or Sith or unconventional means. Point is Starkiller earn his victory it because he was trained by Vader personally in his whole life to help vader to overthrow the emperor they were equal and Vader is hell of a good teacher he take things seriously. I don’t consider the whole Obi Wan show canon considering it broke George Lucas canon and Obi wan wouldn’t leave Luke like that it just don’t make sense.
@@jaieregilmore971 that's non canon.

I have to give Cere credit. She gave Darth Vader one hell of a fight.
Well he wasnt trying until she broke the rules of engagment then he killed he pretty quickly by outsmarting her

On my first play through the scene with Cal holding Cere as the music swells made me put down my controller and just think “Damn…” It was a very powerful scene. realizing the whole section with Cere was a Force echo and Cal losing his second master. Honestly makes me get chills
Love that Cere pushed Vader so hard that she effectively forced him to feign in order to land a killing blow. Usually Vader just overpowers his opponent, we never see him resort to a move as desperate as that. Goes to show how good of a fighter Cere was. As Vader put it, she would've made an excellent Inquisitor.
Low I.Q
U think thats normal ? SHE IS NO MATCH FOR HIM. ONLY A FEW JEDI CAN MATCH WITH HIM CERE NO ONE LNOW WHO THE FUCK SHE IS ! You think she can beat ahsoka ?
The way I see it, Vader getting pushed was genuine. When Cere was lunging through the air, Vader moved her lightsaber slightly to the side, so he was able to avoid getting hit while simultaneously stabbing Cere.
This is the saddest Jedi death scene so far. She' had just her lost her Master, along with a few of the followers. She put so much effort into restoring history so they wouldn't be forgotten, only for it to be taken away from Bode and the Empire. She has came far... (I know BD-1 has the data for it, but she won't be there for their new home.)

Vader is arrogant at this point in his life and he doesn’t learn this hard lesson until after Kenobi delivers the absolute smack down on him.
Cere pushed him and that makes it better, Vader tanked it and won.

This alone is way better fight scene than the entire sequel trilogy.
true! I was looking for a comment like that. The moment Cal sees cere dead, is soooo heart wrenching, and there were no moments like that in the sequel trilogy, simply because unlike the sequel trilogy, the characters here are well written and well developed so you feel for them. Dang why didn't the writers of these games write the sequels?
@@vitormenezesdemattos967ikr I haven’t finished it yet but the moment bode betrays cal it’s one of the best stories I’ve seen so far and it feels so much like star wars
If I had a dollar for every time I seen this original comment I’d be rich enough to afford Star Wars myself
*Insert overused quote here*
I have a feeling the trilogy will end with Cal being the one jedi who genuinely almost kills Vader, and then failing in the hardest fight Vader ever has
That’s gonna be sick
it would be awful.... (force unleashed ghost)
Would also be cool if palpatine showed up in the next game
I don't think he's gonna have a full fight against Vader, maybe a short skirmish. Reason for that is, if they gave Cal a final fight where he loses by an inch, they would give him the exact fight Cere had here - with that final dramatic blow seemingly defeating Vader but it was the other way. Now they won't pull the exact fight pattern a second time so Cal has to either do better or worse than Cere. Doing worse and losing by a bigger margin than his master doesn't make sense from a narrative perspective and doing better than Cere would actually mean winning against Vader.. which we know won't happen. So tl;dr, due to this fight of Cere and Vader and how it went, Cal most likely won't fight him seriously in a death duel.
@@hobopizzaguy7400 I hope so....
This was so sad. Cere had come so far and was such a good character.
So she didnt do a Reva and survive being impaled, funny that 🤔
Because she didn't release her anger.
I didn't even watch the vid I just wanted to talk about the scene omg when cals holding her cry I got literal goosebumps Cameron's acting/ graphics people did so good like I could feel the pain in his face
Cere trained to face Vader the moment she encountered him in the first game, she held her own but in the end she was too overconfident when she lunged at him. One of the best moments from the game!
God you can really feel the attention to detail when it comes to referencing the originals. The way Vader turns his whole body with his head as the platform lowers due to the constrains of his suit, the stationary standoff between Vader and Cere as they talk was very similar to Obi Wans final duel as well. It's magnificent.

Rip Jedi cere
I’m really glad that ceres final stand was one of brilliance
She had no fear, no regret or hesitation
And Vader knew that and mistakes it for strength
It’s why when he is faced with an adversary, they feel his hate and anger and they become afraid of Vader and because they are afraid Vader has already won
But when a true adversary has no fear for the dark lord suddenly it’s Vader who’s afraid (even if he never shows it) and the proof is his final blow to cere, as another commenter mentioned, it was a strike of desperation because he’s not used to being overpowered especially from the force, and he didn’t have any words of arrogance because he knew he could have well and truly died.
The proof being how he staggers outside and his breathing is rigid and damaged
Cere was a true Jedi and servant of light.

@@l0rdapophis Yes I know he’s limping but he beat her plus he’s the most powerful character in Star Wars. So it doesn’t make any sense for her to kill him and you know what happened to him in the movie🤨
Damn these devs showed no mercy...
It's made clear several times that Vader is much stronger and more skilled than Cere, more than once he parries or avoids her strikes pretty casually while she's clearly exherting a lot of strength. She's strong enough to stand her grounds against him, which is more than many Jedi could do, including Masters, and he himself acknowledges her skills. But at the same time, the cutscenes show he's still the superior fighter, he's not totally casual but he's not serious either, he puts some minimal efforts (which again is more than many Jedi could make him do at this point) but that's it. He knows he can end her very easily so he plays with his food. And this is what allows Cere to get an advantage. She manages to take Vader by surprise with desperate means and a sudden move that he could have easily avoided or countered but because he underestimates her, he doesn't. The wounds he sustains weaken him and even after that, he doesn't seem to exhert his full strength judging by the cutscene, enabling Cere to wound him and put in a genuinely dangerous position.
And then she makes the same mistake, in a different manner. She makes a risky move to finish Vader, believing what she did to him is enough to leave him unable to react properly or retaliate. She goes for the kill but in a way that is clearly reckless, because she sees him against the wall and wounded. By jumping like she did, she left herself opened for Vader to react, counter her strike and give her a fatal blow she could have avoided had she not been so reckless. Like Vader at the start of their fight, she underestimated him, thought he was now an easy prey and ultimately got killed for it. She still managed to far much better than many others and succeeded in wounding him. She was certainly not strong enough to compare to him, nor skilled enough, but she was still a worthy opponent for Vader.

Part of me believes that Vader let this fight be as drawn out as it was, and the reason is because he wanted to destroy as much of the holobooks as he could. The longer the fight went and the more desperate he made Cere, the more both of them would destroy all of the history and information that was around them. That's what I believe in part. People die way to easily from saber impalement in Star Wars. Unless it was a heart or lung shot realistically stabs from a lightsaber would have a decent survivability rate.
"In theory, yes, but the odds would very much be against you if you were stabbed by something like a lightsaber anywhere but your extremities.
The biggest problem being “stabbed” by something like a lightsaber represents is the fact that the “edge” isn’t a wedge designed to use kinetic force to break up the material it’s hitting, but a rod of plasma as hot if not hotter than the surface of the sun. It penetrates by burning or melting whatever stands in its way. Much of the human body is made up of water, a very good thermal conductor with a relatively low flashpoint, which means that the heat it dumps into you isn’t going to be perfectly confined to the point of impact.
The moment the blade hit skin it would begin to char, weakening it and all the other tissues being supported by it. At the same time the water inside all those cells as well as any bodily fluids in the vicinity would flash boil, producing a large amount of steam. The good thing about this is that thanks to the Leidenfrost Effect this will actually help arrest the spread of heat throughout the rest of the body, because the vapor layer that forms will push the surrounding fluid away and keep it from conducting the heat from the blade. The bad news is that you’ve got a pressurized mass of superheated steam inside your body looking for the nearest exit. It can’t get out through the hole created by the blade, because that’s where the ambient pressure will be the highest, so instead it’ll rush into all the surrounding interstitial spaces within your body containing otherwise healthy tissue. The tissue will rapidly expand, then rupture under the pressure, producing a gout of gore around the point of penetration.
Once the pressure is vented the new (much larger) wound will collapse and begin filling with blood, some of which will end up hitting the blade to produce even more steam and repeat the cycle until the heat source is removed from the body. You could be left with a relatively small and tidy puncture wound on the outside, but on the inside you’d have massive internal hemorrhaging and compartmentalization syndrome which would be working against anyone attempting to render first aid. Cauterization is often cited as a potential remedy against this, but the truth is that this would not be nearly enough to save you. The seals created that process are very fragile and not capable of standing up to repeated stretching or heating, so any cauterization that did take place would be undone by the steam cycle or the victim’s own blood pressure. Realistically the only way to stop the patient from immediately bleeding out would be to apply a tourniquet or excise the affected area to cut down on the number of bleeds that need to be managed, neither of which are guaranteed to be viable options for a chest wound.
This process also isn’t unique to lightsabers. You’d see the same types of injuries from high powered lasers, plasma beams, or a modern day acetylene torch. Heat, ultimately, behaves very consistently regardless of where it comes from".
It absolutely would not. It would boil your insides.
@@thelordofdogs2166 That doesn’t sound to dissimilar from what happens via kinetic force when a large caliber round strikes you. You get ruptured tissues and organs causing hemorrhaging all around the wound channel and a lot of mass blown out the exit wound with regular bullets. I just think a saber impalement would have a survivability rate on par with anything larger then 7.62, maybe like a 30.06. So extremely low but not fatal in all circumstances

I miss James Earl Jones as Vader.. he sounds so flat and robotic now.
I see people complaining, obviously Vader is extremely powerful and could handle the situation quickly, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have difficulties when he goes to kill "Jedi masters", just look at the comics in which he hunts Jedi. As a bonus, just running away from Vader is not what people want like the previous game, quite the contrary, people want to face him for the gameplay factor, but because of the movies, it's kind of obvious that he can't be killed, at most defeated and depending on the situation would still be forced. I think the battle was well done and fits canon well. I still hope we get a game where we play just Vader hunting Jedi.
