Just to clarify the difference between UP Diliman and the University of the Philippines System.
The UP System is the ONLY national university in the country entirely funded by the State. UP Diliman is the premier constituent university of the System, the others being UP Los Banos, UP Manila, UP Visayas, UP Open University, UP Mindanao, UP Baguio, and UP Cebu.
The UP System is governed by a Board of Regents while each constituent university is headed by a Chancellor, like UP Diliman.
College education in any of the constituent universities is for free, thus the student monicker "Iskolar ng Bayan." To gain the privilege of becoming an "Isko" or an "Iska," one has to pass the UPCAT, which many say a very difficult hurdle to make.
More than 100,000 high school seniors nationwide (from the poorest to the richest, and anyone in between) take the UPCAT every year hoping to be one of the few who would receive the best and well-rounded education that you can have in the Philippines, bar none.

#2 kung matalino ka talaga at gusto mo sa sikat na university at mayaman ka....sa ATENEO ka.
#3 kung hindi ka masyado matalino at gusto mo mag aral sa sikat na university at mayaman ka..sa DLSU ka.

DLSU at number 2? No way.. Wala kayo maloloko dito. Correct order is UP, Ateneo/UST,..some other schools and DLSU far behind. Criteria is board exam performance, CHED Center of Excellence and Devt Certifications and lastly Student Selectivity.

ranking should be based on the ched's list of universities according to their centers of excellence and centers of development. and you you'll be surprised that there are deserving universities in Mindanao not lsted here. MSU-IIT and Xavier University should have been here.

I don't know what are your parameters about the best schools, But for me MSU-IIT must be included in the list because we have many center of excellence awards compared to Universities mentioned here and our school offers quality education at affordable cause.

Yes, may factor din n nanggaling k sa mga top universities para makakuha k ng magandang work. Pero for me, Nsa diskarte din ng student kung Paano magiging successful in life. Kahit sabihin mo p n galing kng Ateneo o La Salle, pero kung puro bagsak naman ang grades mo, wala din yun. Good scholastic records, good communication and interpersonal skills and good, positive attitude are the key essentials for success!

Dito sa manila, UP, DLSU, UST and Ateneo... the big 4 kung tawagin ang nasa top para sakin kasi mahirap pumasok sa mga universities na yan salang sala ung kumukuha ng entrance exam unlike sa ibang universities na for formality sake lang un entrance exam... except for other state universities na salang sala rin naman yung mga estudyante dahil para sa scholarship. Hindi ko lang po alam sa province.

I'm Korean. But I studied in UP for student exchange program. When I was in there, most of the UP students said "this college is the best of everything in the Philippines."
But in this video, UP is only a 3rd between Philippines Universities.

What and where is MSU?
Is it a question or a sarcasm? Anyway. it is in Mindanao. MSU stands for Mindanao State University if you really don't know. It is one of the two biggest state universities in the Philippines.the other one is of course UP. And it is the first state university that bears the word STATE in its name. The other state universities in Luzon, Visayas and other parts of the country are just copycat and have small budget. That's why there are a lot of state scholars in the MSU system not to mention the other scholarship grants that students there enjoy such as DOST scholarship and a lot others. Like UP, it is also a system, meaning it has many campuses all over Mindanao. the main campus is in Marawi with a breathtaking view, and the biggest external unit - MSU-IIT in Iligan City which has a lot of Center of Excellence and Center of Developmen, there is also MSU in Gensan, also a big external unit and a lot more. The MSU system has billions of pesos in endowment- that if you its meaning, just like UP. It was even said that if all state universities were closed , only two will remain. UP and MSU! This happened during the previous administration when the budget of state universities and colleges were slashed. Now, did I explain it very well to you? This is a proud product of the MSU System specifically that of MSU-IIT. That is why we were asking why MSU-IIT was not part of the Top Ten universities in the country because we know it deserves to be there. It has a standard of instruction that could equal to that of the top universities in Manila.

Agree. MSU system is just amazing. Currently studying to MSU Gensan. And there were about 20,000 applicants last 2018 and only 2,000 were accepted and thank Allah, I was one of it.

I do not believe that UST is only #5. Even in USA when I came here, they accept you right away when you are a graduate of architecture- engineering . That was during my time.

Pinoy Parin You know during my time, the only 3 accredited schools in USA for Engineering and Architecture are UP, UST, and Mapua. What it meant was you can take board exam right away, you do not have to have lots of American experienced. UP, UST, and Mapua, were equal to American university in college standard according to US board of examiners. I guess it is the same in other degrees too. I do not know now, if other schools are accredited right away. Ignoranting Pinoy.
