About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

Man, their friendship was an example at such a critical time in America. Now, despite sustained race problems, such a relationship seems ironically taken for granted. I loved their friendship then as I do now.
The Soul Train.
Thankyou Louise for sparing a bit of your precious, rich time to visit Edith in your fur coat and fancy clothes and hairstyle and bragging about George's 7 cleaning stores, to ask Edith to show your old house for rent!😮 Oh, and George's secretary too, let's not forget!
"Sustained" in the minds of fools like you.
The Bunkers are TIMELESS
I wish Edith guest-starred on
“The Jeffersons”.
She wasn't up to "their" status.
Opportunistic, and cheap!
Not Louise rockin' the Gucci bag - moved on up indeed! 😄
I clocked that too 😂
And I thought I'd saw every episode 😮
That is what I was thinking too
I don’t this episode is shown with the same frequency as all the others. And wasn’t this one from “Archie Bunker’s Place..?”
That was a very nice reunion, great friends like them are rare nowadays!
Really good friends reunited ..... I remember Edith standing in Louise's kitchen with a water melon ... that was meant for " on the way " , during their move , when the Jeffersons were moving ...
They told eachother , they loved eachother when they parted ... Edith not saying " goodbye " , but " So Long Irene " ... ❤❤❤
Very realistic in that even though they lived in the same city, Edith and Louise may as well have been in different parts of the country. It is not easy when friends move away from more immediate surroundings to stay in personal contact. Life and all of its complications just has a way of doing that, most regrettably.
I always thought their disappearance in each other’s lives was odd. Louise could’ve just as easily invited Edith over to her sprawling deluxe apartment for lunch, but that probably would’ve presented its own set of problems: Does Louise invite Archie? How do The Bunkers translate or function in The Jefferson’s new environment? Etc.
@@hotgritz4sho Well, Edith interacted pretty well with her prosperous relatives (Walter and Maude, Russell and Amelia, Ralph and Estelle). With Archie, it was not about wealth, he just didn't like any of Edith's relatives. He actually got along better with the Jeffersons.
❤ ❤Sweet!❤ ❤
I just saw this Sunday night on MeTV!
That was a great episode‼️♥️♥️♥️♥️
This show was great and still is!
Unzip them! Hahahaha
I'm glad I dont hear "verses" in my head
George and Louise visit Archie and Edith
❤
I can't understand why it took so long for them to be reunited. Louise became a snob with her wealth. True, she wasn't as bad as her. husband George. But she changed so much. Why didn't Edith go visit Louise:s big shot house?
Why didn't Edith visit Louise?
Her character died in the first season of Archie Bunker's Place.
@@queenfedorathemagnificent WHY?
@@queenfedorathemagnificent thanks for the non answer
@@queenfedorathemagnificent It’s not about age. Louise probably distanced herself from her old neighborhood because of Archie. He was a bigot. And George wasn’t fond of him. Edith would’ve been welcome but that would always beg the question, where’s At hue? Why can’t Archie be around? Etc.
Why didn't Louise show the house herself? Too racist???
Jeffersons last saw the Bunkers was 1975
Louise Jefferson shows up here, but how come she did not show up to Edith Bunker's funeral in Archie Bunker's Place?
There was no funeral scene for Edith.
The show had 'jumped the shark' for me about 8 seasons earlier. Edith is way too shrill & Archie is now almost slurring his speech.
Edith's "shrill" reflected her endearing simple naive nature from the very first episode as did Archie's "slurred" working-class vowel reductions and abbreviations. Both manners of speaking were critical to the presentation of their respective characters.
I believe Carroll O'Connor was going through a health issue in these later years.
Perhaps but he lived way beyond the series
And Edith became increasingly incredibly dumb!
