God I just love watching a whole new generation appreciate the music that my generation grew up with! To me, I grew up in the perfect time, with the perfect music!
Amen! I kinda feel bad that the new generations don’t get to experience the GREAT artists we did! We had SO many to choose from and they only have one in a blue moon! Unless they do like this guy and go back and explore OUR music.
Yes, I encourage all the reactions channels. How else are the new generations going to find out about all the great music available. The method of storing the playlist changes but not the desire for playlists.
Love this song! Kansas was a great band from the 70's. Their musical style is a fusion of hard rock, southern rock & progressive rock. "Carry On Wayward Son" & "Dust In The Wind" are their 2 biggest hits. But they had other good songs such as "Point Of Know Return", "Hold On", "People Of The South Wind", "Play The Game Tonight", "Fight Fire With Fire", "All I Wanted" etc.
This IS A POWERFUL Song..... lyrics and instruments 🎻. I was waiting for my man to bust out into the Violin solo 🎻🙂. Shon had to have gotten "goosebumps" 🪿 when the violin was going off!!! I did, and I've *"listened"* to this song *HUNDREDS of TIMES!!*
My dad was NO fan of Rock music (although he bought me a few albums for my birthday). But this song, was VERY special to him. This is why. We are Catholic, and we believe “ashes to ashes and dust to dust.” He couldn’t believe that a Rock band would sing about this message. This song always reminds me of him. Nice reaction. Thanks.
It's always fun to see people discovered Kansas. Those guys generally were from about 30 minutes from my hometown. And in fact my first roommate in college was from Topeka Kansas, which is the capital of the state by the way, and he actually had some of their hand-me-down band equipment Incorporated into his massive stereo system.
Kansas is an American rock band that came out of Topeka Kansas in 1970. They are known for their fusion of hard rock, southern rock and progressive rock style, and their magnificent vocals with such power and vocal range. I'm glad you like them here's a music video of another one of their very popular hits "Kansas - Point Of No Return {Official Video}" I hope your enjoying your musical journey Thanks for sharing your experience
Our graduation song 1978. One of the best concerts I attended in the 70's. The 70's, a great time for music. Most of these guys where in there early 20's. 6:25
Bongos are the tiny pair of drums that are physically joined together and have a much higher pitch and much less flexibility and how you utilize them. What you're hearing there are congas which is like their big brother. You can have one or several and a stand-alone and they have much longer bodies so that there's a lot more depth to the sound a lot more resonance, and they are quite flexible in terms of how you can play them.
Kansas was on fire. They had the violin and Jethro Tull had the flute. Yeah I just got out of the hospital yesterday. Dodged one so to speak. I do realize we all are just dust in the wind. I almost made that a reality. Take care young man. Love to see your reactions.
One of my favorite tunes of my youth, brings back great memories. Truly, we are all just dust in the wind, a speck amongst vastness... Collecting dust upon other people's dust as we experience life together... Glad you're enjoying this Classic!!! Life was so much simpler back then
You pick the BEST songs!! I relive my teen and early 20's with these songs! I always love them but back then was when I first heard them. THIS is my anthem! For some reason it always made me feel better. It still works too. Thank you, thank you for reacting to the music you do. I always jump right into your reactions as soon as I see them.
Love the two Kansas songs you've done, but I have a favorite. It's called "Point of no return." I used to sit and memorize every word to every one of their songs. In doing that, Point of no return became my favorite. Please react to it.
👍. I did as well about a month ago. Good recommendation...has to be the music video though. My other Favorite YT Channel is POLO REACTS. These 2 both react to some good songs.
React to Kansas Carry on my Wayward Son too! It’s great! I’ve always loved Dust in the Wind and so many more of their songs. I saw them around 94-95. They were absolutely amazing. The singer was running around stage, playing the keyboard and literally kicking both his legs up in the air behind him doing some acrobatic type moves. Most importantly they sounded perfect, just like studio quality but better cause it’s live.
This is such a good song that the majority of my classmates quoted it in their highschool yearbook blurbs since when we graduated, we were able to put some of our own words/quotes and such.
I have always loved this song as a kid. Sometimes it’ll come on the radio in the evening and it would relax me, or I could go to sleep groups like Kansas, Alabama, the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, the Doobie Brothers - and they always do these kind of guitar torch songs.❤
Firefall is another group I think you would truly enjoy. They had some great hits. My favorite was Cinderella..nice easy listening songs, like Kansas..if you like Kansas, you would definitely like Firefall. Thank you for your great reaction😊
1 of the haunting acoustic ballads from Kansas. Steve Walsh on lead vocals 🎤 RIP Robby Steinhardt, violin 🎻. Suggested video 📹: Kansas performs Play the Game 🎮 Tonight live
Shin I absolutely love your energy. You react to songs like you are excited to be listening to great music and it gets me excited to listen to all these great songs again. Btw, this song has one of my all time favorite lyrics… “it slips away and all your money won’t another minute buy.”
Thanks for another great reaction Shon! I love this song. I grew up listening to this song on the radio and singing along to it and still do today! LOL....
I’m just thinking about the reel with memories of my husband at his memorial with this song in it. Beautiful song but I couldn’t leave the house for 3 years after he died. I just took care of my 6 kids. Life has moved on. The kids are all grown and in partnerships and 10; years later I remarried, but this will be THAT song forever 💔
This song will played at my funeral I’ve alrdy let it be known. Ur not burying me. my soul has raised me. My body is just dust in the wind. This and boc reaper
Those are congas. If you remember in the “Carry on My Wayward Son” video, the lead singer played them as he alternated between the organ and the congas.
Back in the day when this was hot for some reason Kansas NEVER played in Nebraska. I lived there so a buddy and I had to go to Red Rocks, CA (God's Cathedral). Very well worth the trip and a nice ride on a couple of Harleys with our girls. 600 miles round trip with roughly $1.00 gas I've seen them since then with the new band members in Reno (former Harrah's outdoor venue) Still killin' it. I still have this LP./Album. Carry on Wayward Sun. Point of Know Return. "All your money won't another minute buy".
I consider them folk rock. I love folk rock like Jim Croce, Kansas, Gordon Lightfoot, and others. I’d consider some of Jethro Tulls music folk rock too. All amazing artists.
New sub here!! So glad you tube kept showing me ur vids. I Really enjoy your reactions and love seeing people expand their minds ❤ my recommendation would be Shinedown’s song Monsters. Hope everyone has an awesome day!!!
To be honest bro ALL of their sings are classic! My fav hasn't even been reacted to 3 times yet! Could you olease do " Curtain of Iron" its not only a classic its prophetic! & if you love piggy backing & multi harmonies you will love Theocracy " Twist of Fate "! Also bathe your face in rosemary oil! I got that from a barber just Wednesday!
Awesome reactions Mr. Shon! Think you would like Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa "I'd Rather Go Blind" live in Amsterdam. It would be a hit at your family barbeque. 😝
This whole song came to be when Kerry Livgren wife heard him doing this finger exercise on his guitar and told him he needed to write some lyrics to fit.
Dust In The Wind would be a good song anyway, but it's the violin that makes it a great song. Reminds me of Careless Whisper, a song that would be good, but it's the sax that makes it great.
I’ve said to my family and friends I don’t need a funeral when die thru body in the ocean or whatever, maybe a ditch I don’t care. I’m alrdy gone to another place. I what see before you is just dust in the wind. The biggest complement you can, family, or friends can give me is wave goodbye. Because good bye is not forever it’s just a till then.
A song suggestion I have, I've just found this it's Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley singing I will always love you (it's not actually Elvis but it's still good to listen to 😁)
You should check out other Kansas tunes: Play the Game Tonight, Hold On, All I Wanted, Closet Chronicles, Fire With Fire, Portrait, Point of Know Return, Song For America.....really you can listen straight through Kansas albums and not find a bad song.... True Musicians, Singers and Lyricists....from a time before Autotune and Digital Editing, when you HAD to be amazing at your craft.
It my old heart good to see the next generation appreciate this type of magic.
God I just love watching a whole new generation appreciate the music that my generation grew up with! To me, I grew up in the perfect time, with the perfect music!

The violin is such an under appreciated part of this song.
🎵 ‘Nothing last forever. Slips away. And All your money - won’t another minute buy.’ 🎵
Love this song! Kansas was a great band from the 70's. Their musical style is a fusion of hard rock, southern rock & progressive rock. But they had other good songs such as "Point Of Know Return", "Hold On", "People Of The South Wind", "Play The Game Tonight", "Fight Fire With Fire", "All I Wanted" etc.
I agree with you but nobody mentions their folk influence though which is blatantly obvious. Great songs you suggested too!
This part just love so refreshing

"and all your money won't another minute buy" this lyric hits home for me

Dust in the Wind is such a massage for the ears.
I love Shon's enthusiasm. Great reaction.

Songs should tell a story, and this one is a great one!
Seen Kansas in concert way back in 1978! I was 16, they were amazing!!
Great music never dies...They are on their 50th year tour with a few others...still rocking, 2024~!
One of my favorite tunes of my youth, brings back great memories. Truly, we are all just dust in the wind, a speck amongst vastness... Collecting dust upon other people's dust as we experience life together... Glad you're enjoying this Classic!!! Life was so much simpler back then
It sure was there were no cameras to record our mistakes thank heavens!!!😂
I was so much older then, I’m younger than that now.
Nicely put!
Powerful song! ♥ Still remember 1st time hearing. Was at middle school talent show. My girl crush played this with acoustic guitar 😳

DON'T EVER CHANGE Shon! You are top shelf. A clean filter. A ray of sunshine ❤

Great reaction bro, absolutely appreciate the wisdom and enthusiasm.
Excellent SONG 🎵
GOTTA BE ONE OF THE ALL TIME GREATEST EVER SONGS!!!
Love the reaction makes me feel good seeing your honesty
Saw them in 1982! Got to meet the lead singer. First song I ever performed on stage.
Love this song and your reactions! Thank you!!!
This is a great selection and one of their best songs! "Point of No Return" is excellent, highly recommend.
It's not only a beautiful song, but the lyrics really hit home. Don't waste your life, you can't take it with you. Loved your reaction!
Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin is another chill song you will love!
Love the two Kansas songs you've done, but I have a favorite. It's called "Point of no return." I used to sit and memorize every word to every one of their songs. In doing that, Point of no return became my favorite. Please react to it.
Before you even started the song, I KNEW you would LOVE it.
Binged several of your videos and had to sub. I appreciate your analyzation of the songs. My recommendation is Everlast, What It’s Like
👍. I did as well about a month ago. Good recommendation...has to be the music video though. My other Favorite YT Channel is POLO REACTS. These 2 both react to some good songs.
Exquisite song!!!🎵🎼🎶🥁🎤🎸🎙🎹🤘 Happy 4th!!!🇺🇸🥳🇺🇸🥳

It's the violin now
Yup, my generation had the best music❤❤❤😊😊
This is basically the Book of Ecclesiastes in a nutshell. One of the most beautiful songs ever!
One of my fave classic rock bands. This song is iconic. I love it. The seventies had the best classic bands. My fave is Styx.🎸🎸🎸
That violin is everything in this song.
Thank you Shon...great comments...love from us all here in Ireland...

Soo many good songs from them, " Curtaln of Iron "; " Miracles Out of Nowhere "; Chyanne Anthem "; " Relentless " just a few.
I love your enthusiasm
The harmonizing is so on point on this also
I’m just thinking about the reel with memories of my husband at his memorial with this song in it. Beautiful song but I couldn’t leave the house for 3 years after he died. I just took care of my 6 kids. Life has moved on. The kids are all grown and in partnerships and 10; years later I remarried, but this will be THAT song forever 💔
This is one of my all-time favorite tunes. Heavy.

Those are congas. If you remember in the “Carry on My Wayward Son” video, the lead singer played them as he alternated between the organ and the congas.
Your soul is beautiful! Shon.
Back in the day when this was hot for some reason Kansas NEVER played in Nebraska. I lived there so a buddy and I had to go to Red Rocks, CA (God's Cathedral). Very well worth the trip and a nice ride on a couple of Harleys with our girls. 600 miles round trip with roughly $1.00 gas

Ashes to ashes dust to dust and money can't buy your health. We all have an expiration date.
Oh yeah shon
No matter one’s status on this planet, we are nothing but a speck
Waiting for "Crystal" by NEW ORDER, or "LOVE REMOVAL MACHINE' by the CULT or "She Sells Sanctuary" - all of them iconic classics.
To be honest bro ALL of their sings are classic! My fav hasn't even been reacted to 3 times yet! Awesome reactions Mr. Shon! Think you would like Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa "I'd Rather Go Blind" live in Amsterdam. It would be a hit at your family barbeque. 😝
This song came from a finger exercise that was turned into a classic song.
Make the most of the dust.
I would love to see you first time reaction to Lindsey Sterling, "As I wonder" awesome video
Reaction fireeee!!!
This whole song came to be when Kerry Livgren wife heard him doing this finger exercise on his guitar and told him he needed to write some lyrics to fit.
Love it.
Hope you're having a great 4th of July 🎆 🎇
Do Magnum Opus Shown. You'll see how ahead of their time this band was.
Dust In The Wind would be a good song anyway, but it's the violin that makes it a great song.
Reminds me of Careless Whisper, a song that would be good, but it's the sax that makes it great.
Carry on wayward son was morning wake up, dust in the wind was ready for bed song
Drums at the end are Conga's.
