Carol Burnett was THE show to watch esp for a kid! Hillarious each week. The best; no one could do it better. Then came Mamas Family! Double the laughs for young and old! I STILL find myself watching mama if she’s on! So much funny stuff I forgot; and, have a good laugh again today! Ya just can’t get enough laughs today. Thank you Carol and Vicki!

I can't stand interviewers who are so in love with their own voices that they never let the guest talk.

Love how she found Vicki, or vice versa. Vicki is talented. She was so funny with her characters, loved it when she did the ditzy girl and the flip side of doing a rich snobby woman.
I love them all, we all do. Harvey and Tim, dear God, Harvey unable to hide his laughter was funnier than the skit. Carol, a total lunatic! No one acts like her. When she played Charo's mother! Charo!! One skit as Charo, carol walks over to make a drink for Tim Conway and as she starts shaking the drink, the drums started beating in rhythm, I still can't breathe it was so funny. Ever since I was 10-12?

Finding Vickie was like finding a needle in a haystack, but the people of the past were so very talented in hunting down and pinpointing true talent. BTW, Carol's eyes move like a doll's eyes, appearing younger than that of even the other two ladies. Back in the day people were getting more essential fatty acids.

I caught this show during it's second or third run in the mid 80's( i was like 13 or 14) , and it would come on 10pm to 11pm (in Newark, N J) and i remember my mother (on a school night mind you) used to yell to me to turn the tv off and lay down..........................i didn't ,LOL. So i remember watching these shows and seeing that cartoon version of Carol at the end of the show and i just loved that, it was also super when someone in the audience would ask her to do the Tarzan yell !!!

Just ask a quick question and let Carol elaborate. Instead, the interviewers have to explain their question so that they can be the ones talking. I hate that but I love Carol Burnett.

She left out the part that she was very pregnant when she went to see Vicki, and asked Vicki to get her seats in the back so nobody noticed her. However, when Vicki asked for tickets, and told the head of the show that they were for Carol, he didn't believe her. The guy however couldn't keep his mouth shut when Carol actually showed up and asked her to come up, or I should say waddle up, and present the trophy to Vicki. Atleast that how Vicki tells the story. Vicki also went to see Carol a few weeks later, when she gave birth, by walking into the hospital and pretending to be her sister. Actually, she knew Carol's married name and the nurse "assumed" she was Carol's sister and Vicki didn't deny it.

Vicki's version of this story is slightly different, and I believe probably more accurate.

the DVD's, the "vault" releases, the books, the Kennedy/Twain honors, the reunions, the TV anniversary specials - all over one show from the 70's?? Is it about money or attention or what? Listen, I lived it, I loved it, it became a part of me but jesus do we have to do this every year??
