just found your channel ... i lived in southern Oregon for 30yrs and just moved to the midwest... thanks for showing the roads once traveled ... i did flatbed refer dry van and chips all over the I 5 corridor... i have been off the road since 2003 because of ptsd issues seeing one to many die while driving... thank you...
You rolled through Moxee next to where I live in Yakima. At least for a few more weeks until I move to Texas to run hot shot. I was going to run out of here but like you said there’s not much coming out of here plus I’ll have to deal with snow in the winter. My friend in Texas has been doing hot shot there and there’s no shortage of work. I ran a week with him to make sure I’d like doing it and I loved it.
Texas is a very solid place to run out of. It’s incredibly difficult to run steady freight on the west coast, I’ve thought of moving everything to the Midwest myself.
I don't have the sliders, so I had to do that on every one of my straps. It used to bum me out, but I'm so use to it now I can't justify the expense of having them installed after spending $2000 on 2&4inch wrachets.
Again I'm trying to help Tavis (Truckin with Tavis) with his winch/battery setup; Do you know if these type trailers would have the 12v hot wire in the harness even if its not used? I kind of think they should/do......
I’ve heard that some do and some don’t. You would think they all would even if it’s not being used, whether it’s for the compressor for air ride or a winch. I can’t say for certain if they do though, sorry.
@@Blue_Sky_Hotshots No worries. My friend bought a 20' car transport trailer and there was no wire in the harness. I was able to add it and hook it up to his winch battery which was mounted on the tongue of the trailer so it can be done. The 7 wire harnesses are pretty common even in RV trailers so I don't know why the flat deck/hot shot trailer manufacturers would not leave it taped up but accessable.
It’s a 40ft single tandem with 7k axles and mega ramps. However, I fully recommend starting with a 40ft dual tandem with 12k axles and getting a CDL so you’re not as restricted.

I use Internet Truckstop when I need to find a load.

tip for you bud on your wheel straps undo the bolt and flip that strap around on the ratchet.
The short strap on the ratchet? I actually wondered about that so that I could have it on the inside of the rub rail without twisting it.

What size trailer are you running
It’s a 40ft single tandem with 7k axles and mega ramps. However, I fully recommend starting with a 40ft dual tandem with 12k axles and getting a CDL so you’re not as restricted.
But you then need a class A cdl to haul a trailer

Do be a cdl hot shot you need class A license
