I love the song. I should not mention it, but Amy Lee's voice, although pretty and perfectly on tune, is too delicate. She is overwhelmed by her own piano playing, and the band is even more dominating. Whet we need here is a Grace Slick or Patsy Cline to really sing this.

She's singing out the deep pain in her heart. The best artists release passion creatively like this. In heaven there will be no crying, no pain. I understand what you're saying. We have to be holy so we can make heaven.
I loved that moment when Amy playing the piano and the crowd just screamed their hearts out loud and she whisphered "wow.." like she still does not realize how great of an artist she is!
Interestingly, when I saw them live a while before this recording was made, she struggled with this song. This setup however really works, and the song is beautifull. Involving the crowd really adds to the song, and it helps her turning it from something difficult into something stunningly beautifull.
fun fact, this song was written by Ben the original guitarist and her ex - friend, and Amy actually said she hates this song, wasn't one of her favourites.
Isn't it wonderful seeing people with lighters instead of fucking cellphones in the video? And people who are actually ENJOYING the concert and singing along, as opposed to seeing all the audience recording with their phone camera. Sweet 2004, when life was still normal in so many ways. This song brings tears to my eyes every single time I listen to it, even all these years later. Amy Lee is THE rock goddess. No one even comes close in comparison. Looks like a Victoria's Secret model. Sings like an angel. God's greatest gift to the world of music.

There are those special vocalists that there will never be another of. They are irreplaceable. Freddie Mercury, Aretha Franklin, Robert Plant, Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston to name some of the very few. I think Amy Lee will be one of those. Her voice is just so stunningly and hauntingly beautiful. It’s iconic and it will go down in history.
The way you described her voice is what I was searching for all this time. It is indeed "Hauntingly beautiful" Nothing else described better than it. 👍
I have watched this video so many times. I love when the crowd sings and roars. When she says wow you can just imagine how powerful a moment that is for her. You can feel the magic from here.
When you're in the recording studio it's easy to sweeten the mix to make someone sound better than they really are. When you're live there's no safety net. She really is that good.
I need help in trying to find a video with Amy Lee on David Letterman's Show done many years ago! when he asks her why she's paying the band for 30 secs of kicking in because it's all Her! and she's the boss, I have never seen an Amy Lee & Evanescence in Concert and would love it in Canada, I'm sure! especially Toronto

Evanescence, with their haunting melodies and powerful lyrics, captivates the soul with each note. Amy Lee's ethereal vocals soar through the depths of emotion, weaving tales of love, loss, and resilience. Their music is a symphony of darkness and light, a testament to the beauty found in the shadows. Evanescence, a band that touches hearts and leaves an indelible mark on the very fabric of music.
All we see nowadays are phones! Can't people just enjoy things instead of taking pitcures or videos the whole time? Lol! If you want, take a couple then enjoy the rest of the experience!
The ever humble Amy, seen looking back at her band at around 1.33 on the video can be seen looking back an mouthing “WOW”. Seems she underestimated how much her music and lyrics touch us all.
I've had the privilege of seeing them perform this song live in New Zealand. It was pitch black except her and the piano, and when the band came in and the stage lit up, you could feel it under your feet and you could feel it in your soul. Gives me goosebumps every time I think about it

When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears
I held your hand through all of these years
You still have all of me ah, me ah, me ah
Holy shit 3:06 the voice when she is singing the 'alone' really is giving goosepumps to me... and then band comes on, great moment..
Anyone else feeling this song in 2020?
🙏🏻💔🇨🇴 Just in covid19 times, this song is my company
She didn't reach tone like her at studio record
agree, such an epic moment
Agree
She sounds like joe rogan
Still gives me goosebumps when the whole band cuts in.
man that crowd has such a treasure of a memory, there is simply no such concerts like this
My god, her voice has actually gotten better with time.
But this is from 2004
One of the most underrated voices in music period
True
solar2k6 she's probably rated about right
she's many things... but not underrated... anyone who knows music knows Amy Lee.
She's one of best female vocalist on 2000-2010 era
Lol... The hell is music period? Is that menstruation music? In music industry everybody knows Amy Lee... All rock and metal fans knows Amy Lee...
3:07 mark still yanks my heart strings right out of my chest
Song is so beautiful and a banger all rolled into one
1:32 is fun: She discreetly mouths "wow!" to her band, cause even she's amazed at the audience response.
mano a mano excellently spotted, lovely moment! 😘
Lol spot on good call u rock
mano a mano so sharp man.. haha
Her voice control is crazy. It sounds like the recorded version
Im 16 and grew up with this song. Truly can't believe I was 3 when this was posted and when this concert happened
This is talent from God! Extremely high quality music, voice, etc - amazing drums and bass guitars! well done Evanescence! Very rare nowadays
This makes me cry like a baby. God bless her ability to transmute pain, grief and trauma into her signing and music for us to resonate with.
she's so talented. this song always makes me cry too. it's heavenly. Hope you're doing okay. stay safe!❤️
Look at all of those free hands up in the air! You don't see that anymore :'(
Agreed. Haven't seen that much since Journey
At festivals like Splendour in the grass you don't see many mobiles
All we see nowadays are phones! Can't people just enjoy things instead of taking pitcures or videos the whole time? Lol! If you want, take a couple then enjoy the rest of the experience!
and those lighters up, you don't see those anymore too :(
cameras and phones up... nowadays hahah so stupid
Pure talent no auto tune just pure power ❤
Amy Lee is one of the best most talented singers of all time. Everything from her solo stuff to her collaborations with other artists is amazing.
One of the most beautiful songs of all time.
When Amy looks back and says wow just makes her even more endearing
This is such an amazing performance, what a hauntingly beautiful voice
Amy and her voice are an absolute gift to the world. Incredible talent.
Still crushing on her after 11 Years.

You’re great! Remain yourself.

Absolutely beautiful. This song inspired a playlist for only music you belt out as loud as humanly possible. 100%
The emotions that Amy Lee's voice can stir are just amazing. A true legend.
I am pretty sure Amy's voice is the most emotional voice in this world
Naah.😔
Wargo89 I love her voice want to see her in concert but need money😂 plus only 16
Gerard Way, Oli Sykes, Ronnie Radke
Yep
@@TheMusicMOA Oli Sykes? Nah, not even close in my opinion.
Timeless Track...Timeless Band...Still gives me goosebumps!
Nice to see the band coming in in the right key. Voice of an angel
so beautiful making me cry with the audience singing
i know, wish i had this natural voice
The ever humble Amy, seen looking back at her band at around 1.33 on the video can be seen looking back an mouthing “WOW”. Seems she underestimated how much her music and lyrics touch us all.
steve marshek 😭😭😭
Back when music actually was made with instruments! God I feel old!!! But thankfull this was part of my youth!!! 🤟
Her voice is on another level.
her surprise with how much people liked this song 1:32
She’s an artist who sounds JUST as good live, if not better, as on record- most cannot say the same
Amy with Sharon (within temptation)... :D .
I've had the privilege of seeing them perform this song live in New Zealand. It was pitch black except her and the piano, and when the band came in and the stage lit up, you could feel it under your feet and you could feel it in your soul. Gives me goosebumps every time I think about it
My Immortal will always be immortal. This amazingly beautiful masterpiece came out this day and month in 2004. It will continue to live in the hearts and minds of music connoisseurs worldwide for the next twenty years and beyond!
One of the only songs that you can listen too a million times and still get chills like it's the first time u heard it!
now this is real talent. people today have no idea what music is
+busy mind little mix are doing the best music in these days....just listen Secret love song and love me or leave me
busy mind which “people” are you talking about?
People have said that for the last 60 years.
busy mind you're right people today using only popularity, appeal and beauty but their music not good, only auto tune.,,,but here in Philippines people can sing well without auto tune
@@virgoboy_3115 Thats just wrong, there were these "mainstream artists" back then in 2004 just like there are now. Look Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Ariana Grande just to mention a view names. If u want to tell me these guys aint talented then u have no idea about music :P
2024 and listening to this amazing song after my love came back to me. I couldn't hear this song for years, it was just too painful, but now she's back with me and I'm complete again. I have tears in my eyes but they are tears of joy, it doesn't hurt anymore to hear this song... ❤❤️❤️
Back in about 2008, I had the privilege of seeing Finger Eleven and Chevelle open for Evanescence, and it is still my favorite concert. Amy Lee definitely does not lip sync, and her energy on the stage is amazing. Would love to see Amy, Pretty Reckless, and Halestorm, that would be my dream concert. 🥰
So many young people in the crowd that had no idea how these lyrics would effect them once they got older. Once they experienced loss.
some of them have already experienced loss. Loss and tragedy are sadly not tied with age.
Wonder what the writer was going through. He wrote a truly haunting song
Mohammad is right. I lost my dad to suicide when I was just at the ripe age of 11 years old. I’m 19 now. Being older doesn’t make you exclusive to loss and pain.
@@queen_dawg I wish you the best in your life. Much strength, precious.
Being young does not shield you from loss. Everyone can relate to the feeling of loss and sadness in some form.
