Welcome back and congratulations on the M11-P. You'll really enjoy the upgraded performance, better metering, easier charging, longer battery life etc etc.
Thanks Ross, yes I have noticed already the M11-P is a big step up from the M10-P. Got a little freaked out with the electronic shutter kicking in... 😉
@@DarrylCarey Haha. You can turn that off thankfully and have it mechanical shutter only.
I hope you know how lucky and happy you are having this camera in your hands :) its my dream for 20 years now…. :(
Nice! :)
It's funny how we try to make certain decisions and as a way to keep our own promises we say it loud or in your case say it publicly a the video to then later in the future upgrade anyway!
The more megapixels offer better large print opportunities so it's a bonus!
Enjoy your summer time and have fun with the m11p!
Soon I can also enjoy some quality light and warm weather instead of this endless darkness and gray skies winter season we have here in Stockholm!
I was offered a good price for the M10-P, so I had to take it 😉 but yes I need to be very careful when I say I do not need to upgrade and then upgrade 😂. Hope you are keeping safe and warm
Man o man... this is for me!! in a year or so... but man she's beautiful good luck with it.
I can tell you now, it’s worth the upgrade. The M11-P has a different look to the files than the M10-P, which I really like
I've never been disappointed by any leica upgrade. The M11 Monochrome and the "p" are the same except for the "Monochrome" and the "P"is the color sensor..Did i get that right? By the time i'm ready the M12 will be out!

Enjoy your new M11P Darryl.
Thanks
Really nice camera, really like the looks of it. I had m cameras in the past but I’m an sl2 sl2s shooter myself. There are metal hot shoe covers available from Leica as you might know in 3 colours or finishes. Enjoy.
Thanks for the info on the hotshoe cover, just found one on BHPhoto . Still love my SL2-S, its great that Leica keep making it better with every firmware update.
Nicely contained in the foam carrier. Smart Leica.
I think all future Leica cameras will be boxed this way. Its still a nice unboxing experience, unlike most other camera brands.
What model of digital M camera did you use before?
This is going to be a long list .. Digital - M8.2 M9 M240 M246 M10 M10-P and M11-P Film - M6 M6TTL 0.58 M7 and MP Black Paint
Congrats my friend!!! I know the feeling 🫢💯🎯📸
Is the M11-P your first Leica M? Really enjoy your videos on the Leica Q2 Monochrom 😀
@DarrylCarey yes! This is my first Leica M. I've always heard that the Q is a gateway to the M and I found that to be true. 💯 the Q2M is such a great camera also, thanks!
I would of kept the m10-p just because it’s the last M10 with the 24mp which will becomes a classic down the line, the digital M6 but congrats on the m11-p once prices goes down a little I will definitely pick one one
I was thinking about keeping the M10-P as its been a great camera, but a good friend was looking for an M10 and worried about spending so much money on a 2nd hand camera and not knowing the history...
The M10-P is a very nice camera, but honestly the best 24MP sensor in a Leica is the SL2-S'...that one is really excellent, it just has really amazing low light performance but I don't think the sensor existed back when the M10 was being developed.
The departure from using brass kinda disappoints me. The weight savings is nice, but I miss that solid feeling you get with the brass top and bottom plates.
Hi Justin, yes I was the same about the brass top place. You can really feel the difference between the M11-P and the MP which now feels like picking up a house brick 🤣
I have a silver m11 (brass) and a m11m (not brass), I like the brass also and silver, but in all honesty I don’t notice the weight difference between the m11 and m11m
Will the body leak , where the charger ingress is at ? Will owners have to be afraid of setting the camera upon a wet ( table spill ) surface ? Just wonder ....
Just checked 😉the battery has a rubber gasket, this will stop any water entering the camera.
Yes there is a USB-C to USB-C cable, you should be able to find one in any Noel Leeming, Harvey Norman, The Warehouse or Jaycar in NZ. One thing I am not sure on though is whether the iPhone will accept a camera connection using that method, Apple can be a bit funny about external devices, but a cable will probably cost you around $20 so worth a crack as we say down here :) John Pouw NZ
How's the import Tax when buying from Hong Kong? cheers
Different countries have different tax codes for imported items. Which country are you in?
I believe you could use any generic usb-c cable for charging and tethering
Yes you are right, any USB-C cable works, I'm using a 1m Apple cable. Would have been nice to have a Leica branded cable 😉
Great video! The M11/P is a really wonderful camera. I want to ask, how does the M11-P feel in terms of weight (with a memory card & battery inside) compared to the MP (with film & battery inside) ? I know I can read specs but I'd like to hear an impression after using it a bit, just the feel in the hand and when out using the camera, having it in a camera bag etc. I'd like to hear your experience, thanks.
My MP feels a little heavier and more solid than the M11-P, will have to give me a little more time with the M11-P and will talk about the feel of the camera in the next M11-P video
👌👏
Thanks 😊
