Beautiful truck. I love mine too, 2008 6.4. I got it when the lights was on due to clogged egr. Engine failed to start after I replaced the fuel filter and accidentally damaged the fuel pump. I also had a leaking radiator that I replaced. I still love the truck and will continue driving it for my building projects.
The '08-10's were an extremely short run but the body style and interior styling made the best looking Ford Super Duty's in my opinion. They look like a bulldog of a truck with an extremely comfortable interior that has a rugged yet elegant look. The 6.4 is a great powerplant without the emmissions on it and if it's built out of it's shortcomings/weaknesses will last a good half million+ before needing a rebuild. There's plenty of owners that will verify that. You've got to take care of it though! Yours is a beautiful truck! Great color! Great paint scheme! Great headlights! Nice stance! Looking good bud! Pay those naysayer's no nevermind! Ride your truck; it's looking good!
I sold my 97 F250 7.3 and moved into a 2001 F350 7.3, now I'm in the middle of negotiations with a diesel shop about buying a 2008 F450 with a tuner, lots of deletes, and a fair bit of engine work done, 148,000 miles, $25k I hope it's worth it, I'm trying to get it for 20k.

And I don't want to baby a truck with a diesel engine, I need it for work to haul equipment. So I would have no choice but to work it

Nice truck just remember Amsoil synthetic or Rotella T6 with arch oil 6.4 run great if they are maintain correctly please don't beat the shit out of it

LOVE my 6.4. its a shame when people just take surface info and think its blanket coverage for all time. If you do the work to correct the issues (yes its a bit but its worth it) and you stay religious with changes on your fluids and filters. Itll run forever. International gave these engines 500k warranty originally. But when they had to make it for the consumer market Ford cut corners to recoup damages on the 6.0 and save greatly on production. ended up being a shit show for em. Im at 240k and im going strooong. She should make it to 1M at this rate.
I've seen a a couple with 300k miles on all original engines with no cab off at all and also completely stock. If I had a good tune and kept my foot out of it the first go round I would have made it further on the first engine and probably still have it but it is what it is
Wheels on you truck look like Diamo 17 karat's I run them on my 2010/ F250 w/ 6.4 , 18 x10 with 35 x 12.5 x 18 TOYO Open Country, Only add front leveling kit for tire clearance (coil spring spacers w/ shock extensions) Did the standard DPF and CAT delete with straight pipe along with EGR delete using H&S mini max turner, I have had zero problems with this engine,:-)
Those 6.4 injector cups....They like to keep your oil reservoir nice and extra full. Lower engine(crank) bearings don't like diesel fuel for their lubrication. But that truck is a down right BEAUTY! I prefer a 7.3l to the 6.4. You get used to the ride after a while anyways haha..

charles murphy lmao there are 6.4s out there with 600k it’s all in how you run them most don’t last cause dumbasses delete them and then think they can tune it super hot without the mods to support running them that hard and they eventually blow them up by eventually I mean quickly guess what you can do that to a Cummins a duramax and any powerstroke when you don’t do any supporting mods to support such a hot tune your going to inevitably blow it up it’s science that’s like if I went and wanted more power out of my 556 and decided well hell let me load some 5.56 with 79 grains of pistol powder it’s burns faster what could go wrong then when it blows up in my face I have no one to blame but myself for the epically amazing stupidity that’s on a full contact window licker level of retardation the same thing applies with idiots that delete these then think they can tune them as hot as they can with no engine work then bitch about the repercussions it’s no different the science behind mechanics is a hell of a eye opener if the ballistics example doesn’t satisfy you then figure this if I go poke a bear or rattlesnake or some kind of wild animal that can kill me or do me serious harm can I really bitch about the repercussions due to my own stupidity

The 7.3s are ok, but by this day in age most ppl are draining more oil than they put in them. they cant hold a candle to the stock power these new diesels are producing to begin with. Throw in the old age blow by and the outdated body styles. They just arent worth it anymore. The 6.7 will grenade every bit as fast as the 6.4. Fuel systems are about the same. Ppl just overdid the 6.4 early on with hot tunes because all the power potential was there. Being the first powerstroke to go without oil fired injection. Tunes are a good bit better these days. The biggest difference is the 6.4 hasnt been around as long as the 6.7. So remanufactured parts are costing more because supply isnt exceeding demand…
Only a matter of time before she shits out another 13k engine. Throw away motor, period. Rebuildable cores are non existent on these engines anymore. When Bill Hewitt says he’s no longer working on them due to parts quality and shortage issues, that’s the writing on the wall.

Mine had 460k last time i seen it. Just wanted a crew cab. I've seen a good bit of 6.7s with a good amount miles. 6.4s are hit and miss

600k probably with major $$ work done. The 7.3 is and always will be the best diesel engine Ford ever put in their trucks.
