My mom treats my dad this way. I didn't know it was called crocodile love.
    Thank you for sharing this!

Thanks for watching. I coined the term to help people understand that some individuals don't have the capacity to truly love others. Love is a verb, which means loving someone is expressed in the way we treat them. Not to say that individuals can't act out with anger or inappropriate behavior at times. But loving someone means their happiness is essential to your own. If you truly loved someone, why would you want to make them miserable?

@@theemotionalabusecounselor I agree with you. The health and happiness of those you love should be of utmost importance to you if you really love them. I learned this by watching my mom do the opposite all of these years, but I'm thankful I can see what true love is and is not because of what she did.
Thank you again for your generosity in sharing it. This is much needed instruction.🤍

You're right - It's also called Narcissism. But Narcissism is on a spectrum and not all Narcissistic individuals are necessarily emotionally abusive. Also, individuals who are emotionally abusive are not necessarily Narcissistic. I'm hoping that the image of a crocodile will help people with abusive partners understand how dangerous it can be.
