STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN can play so damn great no one can jam the way STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN AND DOUBLE TROUBLE BAND AND KEYBOARDIST play ever. Got there own style and it's bad to the bone.🤠🔥🤠
Perhaps Stevie had an "off" day, but nearly every clip of him has me listening to the entire thing. Then, I need to come back to it, but I continue to discover new clips. Angelmeyers, you mentioned it well. We all have faults, and Stevie did as well. But, from everything I've read and heard, he was the person you would want as your neighbor. He treated others with respect, was humble and had a softness to his personality. But, man, could he play the Strat. That #1 got a lot of wear in his short time here. Its incredibly sad he left us in August 1990, in his mid-30's, finally clean and really discovering new things within the guitar. He had a "rawness" about his playing in the earlier days (late 70's, early-mid 80's) that is practically untouchable. But, amazingly, his playing still evolves after his treatment. Above all, he'd be the type of guy you'd be glad to call as a friend. Ok, off my SRV soapbox. Miss the music and impact he would still have today should he not have taken that helicopter. Thank goodness we have his brother, extended family and his bandmates from Double Trouble to continue his legacy.
I still tear up, knowing what a great person who happened to be the best guitarist bar none, this world lost on August 27, 1990. Stevie was, is, the kind of talent that a person like me is blessed to see, and only comes around one in a lifetime. Thank you Stevie, for getting on stage and sharing your God given gift with the world! Thank you to all the people who had the insight to film and record this beautiful man who never held back, who always gave 100% of his heart and soul on and off the stage. What a tragedy that Stevie is not still with us today!
I always show up late to my improv class because of SRV. Once you start a vid, you just can't stop. My professor always asks me why I'm late, and I tell him, "Stevie put me in a trance." He seems to understand...
LOVE ALL STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN'S MUSIC AN INTERNATIONAL ICON GUITARIST, PLAYED HIS GUITARS SO FUCKING HOT, HIS FINGERS WERE A MOVING. A GREAT FUCKING SINGER FOREVER AND HE OWNED HIS OWN STYLE OF MUSIC @ HOW HE PLAYED THE GUITAR AS THE MASTER CAN.🤠🔥🤠
Usually when he had his amp/amps on 10 he would keep the drive on the TS at 0-2 and just pump up the level. You're probably right here. You don't need much drive from the TS when you have your amp pushed.

Always brilliant...
That was EPIC!
I can relate to that completely!
I hate heliocopters
💓💓💓
When I play along here it sounds like the play back of the recording has him in E flat tuning............
he played in e flat dude
Let's see............SRV is not in the Rock and Roll hall of fame but Madonna is?
Its not about the music............its about knee pads.........
Sadly no real raw talent in current or future music
Yes, he is in the hall
Pretty much just a boost pedal when you use it like that.
that's a snarling guitar there. snarl and growl. that's when stevie is at his best.
Where dis recorded ? Chicagofest Country Stage? Aragon?
I guess.
