@@emanuelemarchisio3818 I was a little skeptical of Bon Jovi's story at first but the band did in fact finalize the track at the Record Plant in New York, with Bowie and all four members of Queen present. His cousin Tony Bongiovi was working there at the time so it makes sense he would have been present as well. Doesn't mean Jon still isn't full of it (lol) but his tale is at least plausible. Queen's drummer Roger Taylor has said in at least one interview that the track was recorded in Montreux and finished in New York.

I saw Bon Jovi in a battle of the bands at the Beacon Theater in NYC back in the day. The top prize was a recording contract. Lots of talent on the stage that night but the winner was…you got it Bon Jovi! ❤

Jon is mistaken. That song was recorded in Munich, not New York.

Actually it was recorded in Montreaux at Queen’s Mountain Studios it may have been mixed in NYC and perhaps they were adding finishing touches there

@@terrye6853 no, the whole thing was recorded and mixed in Switzerland. Brian May and Roger Taylor did do a remix in a NYC studio, (the RAH mix) but Freddie was gone by then

So many memories of Bon Jovi. I've been along for the ride the whole 40 yrs. A lifetime of memories from the music. He turned in to a charitable man with all he does for the needy. He grew up to be a good dude. The documentary is really good too
Such a class act, he’s been doing the talk show circuit , being asked basically the same questions all the time, and yet, he will answer politely and excitedly as if it was the very first time .

I thought Power Station was his uncle; IIRC there was a lawsuit when Jon started making his own records, the suit alleging Jon acquired proprietary knowledge of recording, music production, and song writing while employed there, and was unjustly enriching himself from that knowledge. I should probably check out the 4 part...
I was 14 when their first album came out and it and the following albums and also Richie's solo stuff was such an integral part of my live until well into my 20s and then I kinda lost sight. Seeing Jon so well and happy just delights me. All the best to him and the rest of the band.
My comment will be crazy here, but thank you Band, for playing Blind Faith. Can't Find My Way Back Home is and has always been in my top 5 songs of forever, and I am almost 63. That made me smile. Thank you!

My 7yo daughter is obsessed with "livin on a prayer"!! She heard some short that used the tune but it said "squidward on a chair" instead of "livin on a prayer". So I showed her the real song and she loves it!!!

If I am not mistaken, "Under Pressure" was recorded in Montreux, not New York. The only album Queen recorded in the US was The Works, and that was in Los Angeles

Bits of Hot Space were also done in New York, including 'Under Pressure' (not the backing track, but some overdubs and the mix), 'Cool Cat' (mix only, and without the band present) and 'Staying Power' (horns added at Atlantic Studios).

I've seen a lot of musicians who have been guests on the show who don't even acknowledge the band. It's pure class that JBJ applauded them.

One of the few times Stephen C. says “I live in New Jersey.” You I’ve been living in New Jersey for decades, and yet never really mentioned it on the show and give the impression that you live in NYC.
We know the show is in NYC but Stephen you could have occasionally said a word or two about living in NJ or some connection in previous shows. It’s nice when you pay homage to birthplace & growing up in South Caroline and mention early years in Second City & Chicago but I’ve rarely heard you speak of NJ, where you chose to settle down and raise a family.
I too chose to raise my family in NJ and appreciate the good things, know of and complain about its downsides, and make fun of the weird things.
Jon Bon Jovi is phenomenal all over the globe and yet NJ all the way - and it took him to come on stage for you to show some affinity to NJ.

The only time Bowie and Mercury ever performed that song together was when they recorded it, so Jon seeing that is an even bigger deal than I think many viewers may realize.

.. Except a quick Google search shows it was actually recorded at Mountain Studios in Montreux Switzerland... And the story when they first came out was that he was a janitor at Power Station.

Re: the photo of Mick & Jon, there might be somebody who could help. (He recently aided Tony Hawk in a search for an individual in an iconic old photo for Life Magazine) Typically they find people in old photographs but finding the photographer is usually part of the process. I messaged the account on IG about this interview, so who knows….🤷♀️

There's very well documented proof of this. It's been discussed in band interviews for decades, both from Queen and from David Bowie.
