There are only two constants in the Galaxy…
Force wars between Jedi and Sith,
and the Republic military *downsizing* to the point they leave themselves vulnerable and impotent.
This is a great question to be answered, because nobody really focuses on the random common people living in this world that we only know about from the perspective of the elites, or just a few random commoners.

What about folks like Jensaarai01, Matt Wilkins, Manda-LORE, or Corey's datapad? They don't do stuff like that and make unique content.
Acccording what I remember from "The golden age of the Sith" and "The fall of the Sith" the Sith did not prepare 2.000 years for the Great Hyperspace War. Most of the lords at the time the war started did not know about the Republic, and they were not that keen on starting it. Not because they loved peace but they were neither untied (Naga Sadow had his enemies) and because they saw that as risky. It was Naga Sadow who tricked them into joining the war by using a republic-made weapon to murder a important Sith, using this "attack" to rally the lords to his cause and start the attac.
By the way in legends a "few" years (compared about the times we speak here) before the Mandalorian Wars there was also the Exar Kun Revolte, which saw a huge amount of destruction, the order almost getting destroyed.

And the difference between malachor v and malastare is important. Because if memory serves me right malastare was a prison ship that also had a major battle on it

Was revan converted? I though he found the empire and came back to conquer the jedi because he knew they were ill prepared to take on the sith smpire and hoped to take over the republic so they had a standing chance against the sith empire. But then malack turned on him and the rest is history. Least that's what I remember

all in copy of the myth of Mandalore the Ultimate... As he led Mandalore against the Jedi... after he realized the fallen jedi and jedi council worked together to maintain control.
Considering all the xenophobic Human Empires throughout Galactic history, it's suprising and fortunate for Humanity that most of the other species haven't banned together as a balance wheel to take on Humanity.
A charismatic/messianic Alien leader or council of major non Human races could have gone on a crusade at some point when Humanity didn't have the upper hand, or even as a reaction in self defense.
Or a advanced species could have engineered a highly transmissible virus that has a high fatality rate among Humans. It would have taken out the Empire, or even the Republic during the Clone Wars (most of the CIS being Alien).
And what if in addition to space whales, there are space dolphins?
They're called the Ratak, they glassed Tattoien, ruled all of the know universe,Star maps, the Star forge, any of this ringing a bell?

It's just fortunate that Humans haven't gotten the same treatment, sort of like in Star Trek in the Mirror Universes where the Terran Empire collapsed, Humans become slave species instead of just losing dominion over others.
It's probably because xenophobic Human Empires in Star Wars also tend to oppress other Humans as well, so not all Humanity gets blamed.
But what if a space dolphin with a gift of oratory unites *different alien races* against Humanity?

First, the Rakatan Infinite Empire of the ancient Old Republic and two, and probably what you are actually describing happened in the Young Jedi Knight novels where groups of alien species and worlds banded together to use a special biological agent specifically targetting the human genome to challenge the New Republic but were ultimately defeated.

And I like it because it separates Star Wars from generic Sci-Fis with a united humanity fighting evil aliens.
Amazing how the Jedi had all this history and yet, by the time of Luke, many people in the Galaxy believed that the Jedi were just a legend and may have never even existed.

realize it was the Jedi that led the armies of the republic that wiped out Mandalore and Dothamere. With both cultures aware of the chancellor and then Emperor.. yet still serving as they new this wold overthrow the self crowned masters of the force.... while compounding they negative energy... leading to the end of there hegemony.

is it me or are the Jedi more like Liberals and the Sith are like the far Right Wing? I know Lucas used a lot of history to make his factions and most are based on Communism and Nazism but look at today. Both sides are at each others throats and want a 3rd Civil War (Yes we have had 3 not 2, as the Revolution is actually a Civil War dressed up to look different.)

It was lightly mentioned a few times. Once either in KotOR or KotOR2. The people in some areas began to see no real difference between Jedi and Sith and many Sith had once been Jedi. All that they knew was that they were trouble and where they went, war followed.
But that was during war time, on remote worlds
