I just want to add two personal pros to reading the Lunar Chronicles, with the caveat that I read the series about 5 years ago. I'm Eastern European and this was the first time I read a YA with disability/poc protagonist. I'm sure there are many now, but at that time there weren't many widely available ones. It's also fairly easy to read if English is not your first language, and a great way to improve your language skills :) I don't know how it would hold up if I re-read it now, but back then I was very happy to have found it.
Thank you! I have the series and appreciate your review. Confirms for me my reasons for picking up the series and putting it on my TBR. Now I just need to read it.
Oh I have seen this series before! 🤩 The covers are stunning! And I think I would like to read those books at some point because I like fairytale retellings so much! I liked that you identified them as comfort reads! That's sth to keep in mind because the last book I read left me heartbroken 🤣😭
Marissa Meyer has repeatedly said that her biggest regret of the Lunar Chronicles is the other lack of LGBTQ+ representation. She does a bit better job in her other series!

@@riellereally I’m on book 3 and loving them!

I have only read the first book and had a real fun time with it. So thanks for this vid to remind me to finally move on to book 2 😆
I got really into it after book two so hopefully you can speed through after that!

I just felt like Cinder left on a cliff hanger. I haven't read the rest of the series yet .
I really enjoyed the lunar chronicles first three books but the last book not so much
I'm shocked this came out in 2012, I feel like I vividly remember reading Cinder at school?? But it must have been later!
WIFISCIFI
Also I think The Stars We Steal would be a good, more modern comp - fun YA sci fi retelling of Persuasion, for anyone who doesn't know!
Okay but now I want to know what wi-fi sci-fi might entail 🤔😂
