In my opinion, for AMD to make any meaningful impact right now with RTX 5000 on the way coupled with Nvidia's continued software improvements with AI and productivity implementations, they need to hit the sub $500 market insanely hard. And with this being the last RDNA set before moving to UDNA, they need marketshare, badly.

wukon is a heavily nvidia friendly game, even the XTX gets beat by the 4080 super by 12% in that game, and usually on average the XTX is 7% ahead of the 80s. if you compare the 9070XT result with Techspot( HUB ) results, the 9070XT is only 6.5% behind the XTX. that would mean in most game its should be VERY close ,if not better than the 4080super in raster on average. Further driver improvements could also bump up the performance even more so im pretty excited for this if its priced below $500
The performance is more than enough for me, the price and idle/desktop power consumption are what really interest me. The 9070XT should be cheaper to manufacture than a 7900XT. I expect 600€-650€ including taxes in Europe. If the 9070XT cost more, customers will opt for the 5070 or 5070TI.

5:50 AMD's name is right, nvidia has the fake name. Or do you really think 50% of the core of the 5090 makes a 80 class card, nvidia started to heavily push down specs in the 4000 series.
I am honestly burnt out with pc hardware. I am tired of excessive prices, no inventory, excessive power draw, overly excessive hardware requirements, and not enough vram.
At least in the highest end AMD has over hyped and fell short since 2013. The last AMD Radeon to actually compete and win overall was the HD7970 GHz Edition over the GTX 680. I don't mind where there performance has been since then long as the prices stay competitive. AMD has had some great value cards.
I still don't get what the big deal is about this card. Until the price comes out you can't determine if its going to a value or not. Its pretty sad that AMD is now a generation and half behind Nvidia, when they use to be only about half a generation.
Those 4080S figures look like its usual benchmarks for Cyberpunk with Ultra settings and no upscaling. However, the 9070XT results are probably underdselling what it can do under those conditions, since there aren't proper release drivers yet.
Get well bud. Personally I'm hoping to replace my 4070ti with one of these new amd cards if reasonable. I've had enough of Nvidias insane prices. 4090s are averaging 2500 to 3k here in Canada. 🤯
Why would you do that? It's basically a side grade except you sign up for slow driver releases, fewer games with the good version of upscaling, nvenc, higher power draw, worse resale value, more inconsistent frametimes (watch Digital Foundry's video, AMD are worse than Nvidia when it comes to stutters)
This makes no sense! You have a very capable GPU and you’re deciding to spend money on a new GPU because you don’t like what Nividia is charging other people? Obviously money isn’t an issue for you than! 😂
Considering this is a tech channel why can't he get his mic audio sorted. Everytime i try to watch his channel i feel as though he has put himself on mute and then dubbed himself speaking english after. The balance is all wrong and makes listening uncomfortable listening to say the least

I think amd might not be a good option by the end of this year because ai is going to become massive and if amd can't run it as fast as Nvidia people will miss out on a lot.

AMD says they are after increasing their market share. If AMD plays it smart, the 9070 is a bit more expensive than or similar priced as the NVIDIA 5070 (at least less than 100 extra) and blows it out of the water when it comes to performance. They should do something similar with the 9080 series and price it the same as the 5080 (while performing slightly better) and make that their flag ship GPU next generation. And then just forget about trying to compete with the 5090 when it comes to the consumer market. It is a ridiculous GPU that won’t win them much market share anyway. I cannot believe AMD would pair their new 9070 name-wise to be compared with a last-gen 4070 GPU from the competition.

LOL I got really bad food poisoning once at CES. I feel your pain.
What did you eat that made you sick?
I believe it was little finger desserts with butter cream frosting that we had in our suite. I didn't make it back to my room unfortunately.
I need to see 9070 xt compaired with 7900xtx with 4080 super with and without Ray Tracing, with and without up scaling and just pure rasterization. So far to me it looks similar performance in rasterization to 7900 xtx + or - 5 percent but increased in Ray Tracing performance which I don't care about.
if its as fast as a xtx then its an amazing buy specially with extra rtx performance. at the 500 mark it be an amazing card shame for the 16g vram dough
Hold your horses partner. If the 9070XT is not sold below $499, they are still not going to have a chance with 5070. Not to mention the 5070 Ti thats coming out soon.
Right, nobody wants a 4080 for $600, that would be horrible, the buyers would kill themselves ...
La 5070 ti va a tener un rendimiento menor que la 4080, así que si es verdad que la 9070xt roza el rendimiento de la 4080 y sale a precio de 5070 estaríamos hablando de la mejor gpu calidad precio de esta generación
Bro don't push yourself if you're unwell
I heard from a CEO of a company in Europe that has data centers with (only) 7900XT in Europe, USA and South America saying that the next generation would be around 50% faster than the 7900XT he doesn't use RT so I believe he's only talking about raster. They guy is also a bit optimistic about everything so I'd bet that if what he's saying is true it should be around 40%. He said this about 6 months ago (?) but I thought it was BS because I heard about it not being that powerful before
I've seen these same leaked benchmark 4 times now, each time (well except for the first time) thinking they are new. Think Daniel Owen posted them first 3-4 days ago (of the ones I've seen), then UFD tech posted them the day before yesterday, then RedGamingTech (or something) posted them yesterday.... and now we have them yet again.
Wait and see but letting your opponent see you as weak, is indeed a strategy.
Thinking about getting an 5080 when they drop but might wait to see what AMD is doing in the mid range GPU market 🤔...
I feel ya, I went to Hawaii about a month ago and got sick with a stomach bug and after a few days of not being able to eat or drink I had to get my stomach pump. Glad you’re feeling better!
It sure seems like food poisoning breakouts happen a lot at events like these (and it kinda makes sense sadly)
Food poisoning is no joke
Ice chips, pieces of bread, and bananas was the only thing I could eat during those first initial days.
I had food poisoning for 2 weeks, I somehow cured it in a day by eating only bananas.
As you already saw the RX 9000s cards; do they have still a VirtualLink port?
wukon is a heavily nvidia friendly game, even the XTX gets beat by the 4080 super by 12% in that game, and usually on average the XTX is 7% ahead of the 80s. if you compare the 9070XT result with Techspot( HUB ) results, the 9070XT is only 6.5% behind the XTX. that would mean in most game its should be VERY close ,if not better than the 4080super in raster on average. Further driver improvements could also bump up the performance even more so im pretty excited for this if its priced below $500
@Gamer Meld 0:35 norovirus bro
What about the leaks that it's gonna beat the 4080 in performance? Are those accurate? I hope it gets better.
Should have waited for a little further in the video...
@@danielhulan3058😂
Cool your jets! Wait for the REAL benchmarks instead of fake testing
Goodness!! Sorry to hear about the ilness, I absolutely hate eating away from home. The food _everywhere_ is such garbage. Glad you're back to normal, Champ!
Glad to hear you're doing better, take care of yourself before you take care of others. Glad to see another video!!!
Waiting for Real World benchmarks.
Tanks for the two days old 9070 news.
and here i thought SF was known for its quality food
I thought there were new leaks. Sucks to then see you are just days late with this leak... 😂
Last two GPUs were AMD going NVIDIA this go round. See what life is like on team green.
5:50 AMD's name is right, nvidia has the fake name. Or do you really think 50% of the core of the 5090 makes a 80 class card, nvidia started to heavily push down specs in the 4000 series.
Love gamer meld and his NWA hip hop appearance spitting pc lyrics, but he don't need to tell us about his pooping issues
How did u get food poisoning? I wonder if someone ever had it from restaurant food
Will they ever manage to lower the TDP or will we have to buy a new PSU every time we want to upgrade an AMD gpu?
I am honestly burnt out with pc hardware. I am tired of excessive prices, no inventory, excessive power draw, overly excessive hardware requirements, and not enough vram.
Cant wait for the 9090 XTX with 24Gb
Is there anything better coming out i want a better xtx or I'm going to the 5080
The 5080 will cost almost twice as much, you can't compare the cards.
The 9070 only needs to be ~$100 less than the 5070 to own the consumer market, IMO
The look on Frank's face says it all-lol He certainly doesn't appear to want to be there. They've got nothing but a smoke screen. :(
If AMD can pull off better raster performance, then the mid range might just belong to AMD this season.
I prefer your "on the road" more natural voice. Sometimes this overcooked up and down tonal rollercoaster is just too much haha
RX 9070 XT seems to have similar performance to RTX 4080.... That implies similar performance to the upcoming 5070!
At least in the highest end AMD has over hyped and fell short since 2013. The last AMD Radeon to actually compete and win overall was the HD7970 GHz Edition over the GTX 680. I don't mind where there performance has been since then long as the prices stay competitive. AMD has had some great value cards.
why just a model name like cars and a year...(edit: typo)
if its not better than previous generation of GPU, it is just not good enough....amd is lagging at least one generation of gpu tech behind nvidia
I got an rx 7700xt, I am really happy with it and even more to not gave my money to Nvidia.
Reminds me of those lil kid shows, where they talk all fake and over enunciate so the children understand.
We already know these rumors, high wait for official benchs 21 january
I still don't get what the big deal is about this card. Until the price comes out you can't determine if its going to a value or not. Its pretty sad that AMD is now a generation and half behind Nvidia, when they use to be only about half a generation.
Are cyberpunk and wilpmg being played at max settings at all resolution?
Those 4080S figures look like its usual benchmarks for Cyberpunk with Ultra settings and no upscaling. However, the 9070XT results are probably underdselling what it can do under those conditions, since there aren't proper release drivers yet.
Get well bud. Personally I'm hoping to replace my 4070ti with one of these new amd cards if reasonable. I've had enough of Nvidias insane prices. 4090s are averaging 2500 to 3k here in Canada. 🤯
3000$ for a 4090 that's insane but having a RTX Trudeau for 10 yrs is a nightmare. Leave this land !!
You don't even need to upgrade though?
Lol are you just doing it "to make a point"? If so that's beyond stupid reasoning.
I wouldn't upgrade. Not this season. both NVIDIA and AMD cards look eh..
what if they had a 9080 that in the "One more thing" portion of the 9000 official announcement
I have a 4090 and play with V-sync enabled, so I get 50fps, and I'm fine with that as long as it keeps my GPU cool, which it does.
Considering this is a tech channel why can't he get his mic audio sorted. Everytime i try to watch his channel i feel as though he has put himself on mute and then dubbed himself speaking english after. The balance is all wrong and makes listening uncomfortable listening to say the least
I had a stomach bug last time I was in Vegas. The food that caused it was agave. (That’s what the tequila was made from!)
Didnt they say a while ago they was making a amd gpu that rivaled the 4080 for half the price ..
6 minutes ago is delectable
So we're just gonna straight up trust him?! Alleluia!!!
AMD should stop the bullsh*t and announced their cards like their competitors
I want to get the 5080, but if this GPU truly is on par with the 4080 Super at raster and ray tracing on par with the 4070 Ti Super then I might just go AMD
As always time will tell and I will not be surprised if AMD announces a 9080XT
If the price is low enough I will go for a 9070. If not 7800xt
9900xt would’ve been a sick product name
are all of 9070 XT gonna have 3 pin connector? cause my PSU only had 2
It should roughly compete with rtx 4080 Super... but, hopefully, for 499 bucks. :)
If it's anywhere near 500$ it won't sell
I think amd might not be a good option by the end of this year because ai is going to become massive and if amd can't run it as fast as Nvidia people will miss out on a lot.
and the price of the 9070 XT?
around $100 less than rtx5070 so probably around $450
@@fatalisth No chance it would be $450. Maybe the normal 9070, the 9070 XT will probably launch at $550 or more likely $600
@@jl3303 no chance its $600, no one will buy it. i can see them being dumb enough to charge $549 at worst. IF they're really serious about marketshare then they need to be at most $499. $600 is extremely unlikely and makes no sense at all lol
@@PCgamingbenchmarktime Why would no one buy a better 7900 XT for cheaper? You aren’t up to date on AMDs financials. They can’t sell that card for $499, they will lose money on it. I’m calling it now, $599 launch for the 9070 XT. There is no way they can make money launching at $499 with the specs that card is going to have.
@@jl3303 better 7900xt? better than what ? the card cost around $250 to make apparently, thats still a 60% margin if they sell it $499, which is not far off nvidias 60 plus margins so i'm sure they can survive... look at the 7800xt, it sell sold for $450 after it dropped from $500. the 9070xt uses the same type and amount of ram as that card, the die size isn't much larger than it either. The card probably cost the same or less as what the 7800xt did when it came out lol. The specs aren't that high wtf are you talking about ? its just way more effiecent which isn't hard to believe since rdna3 had a lot of issues, latency problems etc. it wont be $599. at worst its $549, more likely $479-$499 if they're really going for marketshare
Who the hell wants to game at 26fps with all that lag ?? LOL
I’d think no one. Not sure why we care about Ray Tracing performance when it’s still basically unusable without extreme upscaling and framegen.
@@PneumaticTire If the 9070xt x can only do 26 fps with raytracing then count me out.
Cus 30 fps is still playable and viable. Consoles still aim for 30fps and sometimes dip
@@TexTheMaster ^60fps should be the standard not 30 still.
@@firexallst4rz277 At 4k native with all the RT BS. The point was to show the abyssmal performance of everything which isn't a 4090/5090, at that level. It's like saying, well, here's the results, they are not good across all the board, NVIDIA included, BUT this card isn't even made for that level. RT is bringing everything down without upscaling and framegen. It's that one non-vital gimmick that blackmails the entire industry into ridiculous prices and performance matches.
i still dont understand the name change at this point, why go to 9070, sure it maybe easier to understand which green card its supposed to compete with but where do we go after 90? are we gonna have 10070 next gen? - seems dumb and is definitely gonna need another name change
Glad you're feeling better brother 😌😌 The 9070XT seems like an awesome card to be honest, hopefully it will be priced correctly,
If leaks are true, its better than an xtx at 4k raytracing
I'm so glad you're better after the world was falling out down BELOW.
If AMD matched or gone beyond the 5000 from NVIDIA, then NVIDIA is scared.
If it's better than a 4080 super and a 7900xtx im getting it for sure
Rocking a 7800xt rn
Ugh, food poisoning would definitely explain why you sounded so dead last video.
It as been the same talk since Vega
But will I still get black screen driver timeouts like I do with my 7900xtx?
I pay extra for that
Now run these test utilising AAA games running in VR @ minimum 90 FPS like flight sims or sim racing titles like Assetto corsa EVo or Automobilista 2 with a 40 car grid and see how it really runs instead of these pancake games for once!
Amd next gen will be almost the same of a 2 year old nvidia generation and you are hyped about it? Are you serious?
This news is ancient.
2 days yeah. Like I said, I’ve been sick.
