@@vinhsannguyen2100 Yes, I do get what you are saying. However, considering AMD is targeting the low-end and midrange segments, it's very unlikely that the RX 9070 XT will have more than 16GB. AMD is expected to return to the high-end and enthusiast class segments with UDNA, which will be the successor to RDNA 4. RDNA 4 is a stopgap. It will mostly be tweaks, optimizations, and fixes over RDNA 3. UDNA is where the major enhancements should happen. However, that doesn't mean substantial performance gains should be ruled out for RDNA 4. RDNA 4 should be way faster in ray-traced games.
@@vinhsannguyen2100RDNA4 is actually mostly optimized for low cost. This is why it is again monolithic and not MCM. It is the reason it has GDDR6, and why power need is still below 300W, as that leads to cheaper components, resistors, cooling solutions etc. By not going super tight on PCB also, makes it cheaper to manufacture. Basically they shrunk the die of RDNA3, squared off a bit of the die to RT/AI, and kept the cheap bus. Hence the 16 GB VRAM. This makes it possible to go really aggressive on pricing if they so wish. I am confident AMD could charge 399$ for the 9070XT and still make good profit. The question is if they want to. Personally I think this is their chance to do it. Just go for it.

If this card is around 500 and beats the 5070 without fake graphics. I'll buy one. End of story. We need to boycott AI cores. Fake graphics are for consoles. Not PC's
So, the 9070 XT might have the edge over the 5070 when it comes to rasterization, though the ray tracing performance will probably be on par. The 9070 XT is in a bit of a tough spot. Sure, it might be overall more powerful than a 5070, which would make a hypothetical $549 price seem fair, especially considering the extra VRAM, but NVIDIA's got that strong brand influence and they're ahead with their AI tech by 1 to 2 generations. For AMD to really shake things up and stop chasing NVIDIA, they need to get aggressive with pricing. At $399, they could steal the spotlight from the 5070 and grab all the gamers who are on the fence. It'd be a no-brainer at that price. But at $499, many people will still lean towards NVIDIA, especially with their new transformer DLSS model and ray reconstruction. That, along with multi-frame generation and nVidia Reflex 2, means 1440p 240hz gaming with ray tracing turned on is completely feasible with minimal artifacts. The 9070 XT just can't touch that. It doesn't have multi-frame generation, it doesn't have a ray reconstruction equivalent (nVidia is on their second iteration), and AMD's ML based upscailing (FSR4), while looking good, is still their first attempt at it and will no doubt look inferior to DLSS 4 upscailing. AMD has to play a lot of catch up.
Literally nobody other than fanboys cares about "AI tech", only reason AMD flopped last time was the atrocious MSRP most of their cards launched at WITHOUT a proper upscaler and RT capability.

They don't mention these 2 GPUs because of their performance, but because they were successfully sold for that price in almost all parts of the world except maybe in the USA (I don't know in the USA). Depends on performance my guess is XT aggressive 499, realistic 549, AMD mode 599, for non-XT aggressive 399, realistic 449, AMD mode 499.
@@veilmontTV What features? DLSS? Fake resolution. Frame Gen? Fake frames. And the 5070 is no faster than a 4070 Ti and nobody cares about RT. Raw rasterization is higher priority.
They'll undercut whichever card it competes with as they normally do. Hopefully it won't just be barely this time though. So if it's on par with a 5070 expect $499 or less. BUT if it's on par with a 5070 ti it has potential to cost more with the none XT costing less. IF it's nearer a 5070 ti in raster, 5070 in RT and costs $449 that would be amazing. But $500 would also be good for that level of performance given Nvidia aren't giving enough vram at that price point.
$350/450 USD would indeed make RX9070/RX9070XT a bestseller no matter how 5070 will perform and will help AMD to acquire aforementioned market share. The problem is that the head of Radeon division already told in an interview that they won't be priced at 400$.
I just want a successor to the RX 480 8 gb. I maxed out games at 1080p for YEARS with it. It was a great value. I LOVED this card. They need to do the same for 1440p, adjusted for inflation, not more.
What calamity? I highly doubt they'd do something as insane as $899 7900XT again. They intentionally delayed the announcement to undercut Ngreedia and that's exactly what will happen.
Im still running my GTX 970 but honestly if this card is low in price enough i might just wait the extra few months to see what the 9060 and 9050 look like
the issue is apparently their going with 479$ for the reference models, $550 for the AIB models sigh they never learn...if they did a pole for a global price of 450$ or 550$ clearly everyone would chose the 450$ not because it's clearly cheaper but because we all know that's what it needs to be...after all they need to realize that Intel hasn't released their B780's etc but w/e I'm gonna wait till June or July I guess for a 9070 XT when it will be worth buying once everything else has calmed down.
DLSS and the other tech that Nvidia uses, and better drivers usually, has always made it an easy choice to spend the extra $50 or maybe even $100 to stay with team green.

They can redeem themselves with this series of GPUs. I'm giving them a chance because the alternative is "nothing changes". I'm not instantly going to call "foul" before they even get a chance for redemption.

7800xt came out at 499, immediately sold out, and the price went up from there. This card seems a fair bit better than that. I would not be surprised at all if AMD comes in at 550 or 600. I would prefer it cheaper, but come on folks…how long will gpus be priced through the roof before we figure out that’s just the way it is until intel can actually come through with a quality product with comparable performance. 🤞🏻
I just wanted to point out that black myth wukong is heavily favoured for nvidia, i think you mentioned that but I want to provide some context...the 7900xtx, which is on average 7% faster than the 4080 super is 12% behind in that game at 4k native cinematic settings ( techspot/hub benchmarks ) so that fact that the 9070xt is within 9% of the 4080 super in this game would actually mean on average it could be beating the 4080 super in raster. It should be within 5% of the xtx on average imo. That's pretty impressive, what's even more impressive is that it is within 1% of the 4070ti super in RT. so the 9070xt should be in par or slightly better than the 5070ti in raster and maybe 15% behind in RT. if they price it right ($499 or less) that would be 40% cheaper than the 5070ti, obviously the 5070 isn't even worth looking at if they pull this off lol. This is just going off leaked benchmarks so they could be fake for all we know, this close to launch though its pretty promising. Now they just need to stick the landing....if they do something dumb and price it at $599 then who cares ? Just buy the 5070ti lol, $549 is the max price they can charge imo but i don't think it's aggressive enough to sway people, plus some people have no idea...they just go on price. $479-$499 the magic price range if the performance pans out
if they offer Radeon 9070 series cards for 399 or somewhere below that, i may jump on this myself. AMD really needs a bang for the buck offering like they did with the Ryzen cpus. hopefully they will be much better at meeting demand than Intel is with their battlemage GPU. for my needs, my old GTX 1080 TI is still serving me well for now.
You know, maybe they should make it free. That would work, right? The crazy thing is, even if it was free, not every gamer would put one in their system. I wouldn't. (I have a 7900XTX, so it would be a downgrade)
Prices are difficult to guess given the state of the economy & trade, especially considering whats coming, these might be among the last "affordable" cards for many years to come.
People are insane!!!!! Expecting AMD to outperform Nvidia and undercut them by hundreds of dollars is unrealistic. Especially while accepting the slop Nvidia throws at them in certain price points.

those were older estimates with older drivers, its actually looking like it will be right on par or even slighly ahead of the 4080 super. so the 5080 will only be 15-20% faster for 70% more lol. the 5080 will have at least a 30-35% advantage in RT though to be fair, but the price difference is pretty insane considering its not all that far off in raster haha
I think AMD should drop the prices as low as possible on the GPU's and take a small hit and use sales from processors/server market to cover the loss...
It'll launch with a minor discount compared to nvidia, and it'll be out of stock day one. Discussions of market share and value are mostly meaningless when production capacity and supply/demand remains imbalanced. We whine about prices but it doesn't matter. The market keeps moving.
You do realize that because of stupid Nvidia you will hav the big choice of a 8gb card (very shit) 12 gb card (shit) 16 gb card (ok) no 20/24/28gb cards and then you can pay 2500 for a 5090 It’s mainly the fault of Nvidia a no this rbrwnd being so bid that amd couldn’t not make any of those cards because I bet you AMD would have made greats cards for VRAM and high performance gaming between 600-1000 but of course they can’t because stupid people buy Nvidia
I find it amazing how so many people expect AMD to be some sort of charity at this point. If the rumours are true and it performs in raster like a 4080 super and has RT at a similar level to a 4070Ti then $649 is still a excellent deal. Anything less is just a bonus, people wanting competition can only get it by supporting the competition. Seems like too many people want AMD to have a dirt cheap card at $399 that performs like a 4080 super just to force the prices of Nvidia's offerings down so they can buy Nvidia. At this point AMD may as well pack up and quit the GPU market leaving nobody to compete with Nvidia so they will rip off people even more with increased prices with less performance each new generation.

Ok i watched the rest of the video. I think the leaked $479 price will be enough, thats 14% cheaper while possibly beating in raster by over 25% and edging it out on RT. That would be over 30% better value overall. Not even factoring the extra vram, i know I'd it for that. The 5070 isnt even worth looking at ( better getting a second hand 4070ti super ) so its the the 9070xt or the 5070ti ( which i actually think the 9070xt will beat in raster by a little bit) but be behind in RT by around 15% or so. But considering it would be a 44% difference in price....the slower RT means nothing when the price gap is that wide
only problem is ...the card only runs on windows while linux does not have ai support to access gpu hardware ai, just like antilag and afmf2 is through driver level. And bigger problem with that, you want to spend money to limited yourself with OS options and exclusives titles support with fsr4 ? However, that doesn't mean substantial performance gains should be ruled out for RDNA 4. RDNA 4 should be way faster in ray-traced games.
raster performance will be 7900xt, although RT perf will be ahead of xtx. No more than $450
@@vinhsannguyen2100RDNA4 is actually mostly optimized for low cost.

Now they just need to stick the landing....if they do something dumb and price it at $599 then who cares ? if they offer Radeon 9070 series cards for 399 or somewhere below that, i may jump on this myself. Ok i watched the rest of the video. I think the leaked $479 price will be enough, thats 14% cheaper while possibly beating in raster by over 25% and edging it out on RT. That would be over 30% better value overall. Not even factoring the extra vram, i know I'd it for that.
