Hello Folks!
So I’ve been asked for more slow cooker, or Crockpot recipes :) As I haven’t done one for a while…I thought I’d show you how I make my Indian takeaway style chicken curry in the slow cooker (or Crockpot)
This one is made with Indian style spices, but if you prefer a Chinese style curry…just swap out the spices for things like Chinese 5 spice, ginger and yellow curry powder, and use brown onions instead of red.

What I used (serves 4-5 adults)
Olive oil for frying - 1 tablespoon
1 Red onion - finely chopped
4 Cloves of garlic - minced or chopped
6 or 7 Baby potatoes - diced or sliced in half
600g /21 oz) Chicken thighs (skinless and boneless) - cut into 1 inch pieces
1 Teaspoon each of black pepper & salt
3 Whole cloves or 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

2 - 3 Bay leaves (remember to remove at the end of the cooking time)

Evening folks! Hope I find you all very well ☺ Curry on the menu tonight! Thanks for stopping by 😘
I can’t find the recipe or ingredients
@@jenruby-nz1rs If you click on the 'show more' or 'more' box under the video title...the ingredients will be there :) I don't have a written recipe though. I am working on a website just now x
That curry looks great and it's even greater that it's a slow cooker recipe. It makes it so easy to cook low and slow for the tenderest most tasty of curries.
Looks great, I'd have chucked some frozen peas in at the end just to wind up those people.
Side note - I'm pretty sure that our Cousins over the pond only use 'cilantro' to refer to the leafy kind, the seeds are always coriander.
So 'tis in the US
Correct 🇨🇦
Yep. Dumb Canadian language. You cant buy corriander leafs you have to buy cilantro, but if you want to grow cilantro you have to buy corriander seeds. Dont even get me started on aubergines and courgettes.
This curry was FABULOUS!!! Just enough heat and great spice. Delicious!!
Thanks so much... love the thought of having a solid slow-cooker curry. I’ll end up putting a few servings in the freezer to have for other meals on other days. Living single, these recipes allow for plenty of meals all in one fell-swoop.
Absolutely! 🙂👍
That's a great idea it sounds wonderful 👍
My saying= Eat one, Freeze one.
@@sparsh415. Hah !!! Not my saying, but definitely my style. Confessing here that I plan on adopting your saying as my own. but I promise you, I’ll credit it to you.

This looks so yummy that I can almost smell it here in the US! THANK YOU!!
Definitely going to try this! Have all the spices and herbs. Thank you Cheryl.
I know a good curry, both authentic and restaurant style, im Bangladeshi and i can say that looks delicious. Great work
many moons have passed since I last ordered Indian takeaway, methinks I will try this. 👍
Made this with lentils instead of chicken in my dutch oven and it tastes delicious!
Hi Cheryl,
It looks delicious!
Thank you so much for sharing the recipe!❤
Thank you for watching! 🤗
Just made it last night and it’s great. I made a double batch with half the recommended cayenne pepper and it still had a nice kick.
Also, I like my food saltier so if you do too I’d add a bit more salt.
Cheryl, thanks for sharing, that looked delicious and a really easy prep and forget recipe. Much ❤🙂😋😎
This looks delicious! You do like your spicy food 😮🌶 It is strange, but here in America, we call the fresh herb cilantro, but the dried form we call coriander.
Thank you! I'll need to try and remember that 💙
Good evening Cheryl, this looks and sounds utterly delicious 😋, definitely going to be giving this one a go in my fairly new slow cooker, may add in some cubed dice peppers 🫑 as well. Have all the dried spices at home, but will have to get some fresh limes & fresh corriander. I’ll probably buy a couple of potted ones as well as some basil in the supermarket, divide them up & transplant them into pots in the garden to keep me supplied over the coming summer months!👩🏻🌾 As always thank you for sharing & enjoy the rest of your week. xx 👩🏻🍳 🥘 🍚👌😋💕💞🩷
Just made this today- really nice and so easy to make. I mixed in a bit of mango chutney on my plate, which really took the dish to a whole new level- I'll definitely add some in the pot next time 😅
Looks good! Will definitely try soon. ❤
Good to see another slow cooker recipe ❤
Looks absolutely delicious 😋 will be making this 👍 😀
Please do! It's delicious 🙂
Added to my growing 'whats for tea' must try list - looks really nice to have with a Naan bread.
Aha, Chicken Curry, I have been waiting for this. I do not have a slow cooker but I'm sure I could manage it on the stove top. Thank you. See ya Saturday, love the nail colour.
Hello Cheryl!
This recipe is cooking away in my slow cooker right now.
In the video, you say you used a tea spoon of ground coriander, but it would seem you put a tablespoon in. What should I use?
Thankyou
This curry looks so good and easy to make thanks for sharing ❤
This looks delicious and something DIFFERENT from the usual slow cooker pot roast
Hi. Can you use less cayenne pepper if you don't want it too spicy.. i like it about medium also can this be frozen as leftovers even with the potato in it or will it go mushy.also you don't have to brown off chicken thighs before slowcooking? Will this go well with naan bread?
Looks really delicious, will try this, thank you.
Definitely going to try this. Thanks for the recipe Cheryl.😋👍
Looks delicious,I’m going to try thank you for sharing
Looks delicious 😋 Cheryl. Thank you for the recipe ❤
Mmmm! I love curry! Thank you Cheryl🙂
Looks great plz tell me if can I cook it in normal pot on stove on slow flame 🔥?
Looks delicious .I love my slow cooker particularly in the cooler weather......It's nearly winter here in Australia
Have always wanted to try a chicken curry. I don’t have gram masala. Is curry powder a good substitute? Thanks so much!
DEFINTELY making this!!
That looks fantastic, definitely doing that!
Wow Cheryl , right up my street , yum 😊❤
Looks very nice & easy to do !! Thank you 😊
Can I get your opinion ? I have a lot of chicken drumsticks in the freezer (it’s what I can get for cheapest) would that work? And would that change the cook time since it has the bone?
Please and thank you ❤
Hi from New Zealand Cheryl 🇳🇿. Just found your channel ❤looking forward to cooking up a feast ❤
It really looks wonderful😊
Looks delicious!
Really brilliant! Thanks.
Could you make this without the potato? Xx
Absolutely! The sauce may not end up as thick though...the potato helps to thicken it a bit 🙂 if the sauce ends up too watery...you could stir through a little cornflour (or arrowroot) and water though!
Looks smashing Cheryl 👌
This looks 😋 definitely going yo give it a try! TFS xx
That looks good!
That looks delicious
That looks so tasty! BTW, I hope you get your nails done like that again…I really like them! Cheers!
They make a red, too
Looks wonderful! I love curry but not quite as spicy as you.
On a cold Winter`s day it`s so cosy when your home smells of slow cooker Curry. Another good one is Chickpea ,Spinach and Potato=Cheap, filling and tasty. You can also buy ready made curry powder from the supermarkets if you haven`t got all the spices etc and use tins of chopped tomatoes as a base for your sauce. 🙂
Teacher why do you need to take the edge off the taste of the onion and garlic? Will it not cook out in slow cooking?
🍽👩🍳Wow, it's looks so yummy and tempting 🤤
I'll be trying this out 😊
What a great dish!
I couldn't find the ingredients list though, but I'm sure that I can get it from the transcript.
Thanks, Cheryl
Ah! Found it. 😂
Can I use double the ingredients for double the amount 😊 xx
Good work👍👍👍👍
Looks very nice and easy to do! Thank u so much dear & STAY CONNECTED ❤
Looks delicious! But, I could not take my eyes off your gorgeous nails, absolutely love love that color 😍

looks lovely
very nice.
I love hot curries my favorite meal🎉🎉
I like to add a tin of coconut cream to mine to richen it and make it creamier
Mmmmm thank you 😊😊😊❤❤❤
yummy
Hi Cheryl looks delicious😂
I can’t find the recipe or list of ingredients.
Hiya Cheryl, looks delish!!! Was it blow your socks off hot? 🥵🥵🤣
It was quite spicy! Not TOO spicy for me though 😄👍
Sorry, Highland lassie, the holy grail is GOG garlic, onion ginger. You didn't add any ginger. Also, my wife would add homegrown hot chilli's. Now that's spicy hot.😂❤
I like to make my rice yellow when I make curry by adding turmeric powder to the rice.
Is there a written script for this recipe??
