    I make a mixture of scallions, fresh ginger, and fresh garlic that store in ice cube molds in the freezer. I level up with garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. Whenever I make a Chinese dish, those cubes are always ready to use. They would be useful in this dish. Cheers!

    Just as a point of Asian cooking, sesame seed oil always goes on last, actually after you're done cooking and you have removed it from the heat. That is because it is a delicate flavor that the heat will ruin. Think of it like putting pepper on a salad or parmesan on spaghetti. You should try cooking it like that sometime and see if you can notice a difference.

      For sure.

    • @TSinRM
      @TSinRM 3 місяці тому +21

      Personally, I don't think the slow cooker will reach a temperature hot enough to degrade the sesame oil. In this case, I might add a teaspoon before and a splash after cooking.

    • @soneotk5332
      @soneotk5332 2 місяці тому +7

      Yes and no, lots of traditional Asian recipes has sesame oil go in at the same time as miran and other oils, as well as the amount he put in I’m sure you can taste it 😂

    Good video! As a pre-diabetic individual who has to limit his "great dishes" to once a week, this is one I'll be trying! Corn starch and orange marmalade are not great for blood sugar, but the proteins of the chicken will help offset it. Put some healthy veggies with this and it will be great! Thanks for the video!

    Just made this for dinner and it's a keeper. The only thing I changed was the orange marmalade. I used Bonne Maman because the 1st ingredient in the Smuckers is high fructose corn syrup. The Bonne Maman uses sugar. Everyone loved it. I will definitely make this again. I may double the sauce ingredients because I had chicken left over but no sauce.

    The cornstarch is totally gangstah. I used to make corry cheeken with diced chicken breast, and when cooking long enough to get the onions soft, the chicken would end up tough and "overcooked". Coating everything in starch and then browning them, I could cook everything forever and the chicken would stay soooooooooo tender and delicious.
