Good evening everyone! Thank you for joining me for this week’s recipe video. I’ll be down in the comments for a while :) come and say Hello! Consider subscribing if you’re new…and give the video a wee like please :)
@@WhatsForTea Hi Cheryl I will remember I made your steak bake a couple of days ago It was yummy and had some steak and onions mix leftover so I made it again today it was so good on a cold wet and windy day here in tea gardens in NSW Australia. Hope you have a nice week .💐💜
Hi David from Wales here. I am housebound and 74 year old suffering from arthritis in both arms. I follow this recipe in great detail and....... It was perfect exactly as described. Delicious. I'm going to subscribe now. 🏴
Hi Cheryl, Greetings from downunder. Made this a couple of weeks ago and it was fantastic. It's on the menu again tonight. Thanks for such a great recipe. Cheers 😋😋
What a brilliant idea! Definitely going to do this one. Note though.... Onions will NOT, repeat NOT caramelise in 10-15 mins. This is a worldwide misconception that has been promoted by the mainstream food publishing press for years, unfortunately as a deliberate lie! They just can't bring themselves to say 30 to 40 mins as they fear people won't use their recipes.
I've made French onion soup plenty of times and I agree, I'd say it takes a good hour to get that real caramelised texture and flavour. Well worth the time, though!
Love your accent very relaxing to listen to and definitely going to make this and the bake beans are a nice addition it’s a shame my wife hates baked beans I guess more for me than
Absolutely beautiful! I have never thought of trying this in a casserole type form. I normally cook each ingredient separate but I would definitely like to give this a try
First time I’ve watched you. Love the Scottish accent, which I miss from relations that have passed away now. Thank you for the sausage pie. Will have a go at that one sometime soon.
This looks delicious. When i make mashed potatoes for a cottage or Shepherd's pie, i use sour cream rather than milk. A little parmesan cheese as well. The tatties brown beautifully.
This is such a good recipe to make sausages and mash more exciting. Will have to try it. Love your accent and sense of humour. You made me laugh with it being volcanic hot coming out of the oven. Always enjoy seeing what's for tea in your house.
I could listen to you alllll day long....loving that lovely accent. 👍 I'm going to make this asap, it just made my stomach growl and my mouth water! Can't wait....🥰
Cottage pie is similar but made with minced beef and onions and Shepherd's pie with minced lamb and peas, carrots and sweet corn or diced yellow bell pepper. They're all different.

When I was a wee child growing up in Aust, I had Arrowroot and milk for brekky very very often. In hindsight i think my loving mum was trying her best on limited finances to look after the family. Take care of her God and love her please.
Hello Cheryl! I really like this recipe! It's a subversion of traditional bangers and mash that looks amazing. I honestly thought from the thumbnail you had put the baked beans in the gravy! I hope you had a lovely tea with this and I'll see you on Saturday for the grocery unbagging!
Seattle is having a warm spell right now! It was between 24 and 25°C and no rain. Unfortunately the temperature will dip this weekend but we're used to swings like this so we'll survive!
WOW. That looks so tasty and delicious like the sort of proper food we had as kids in the 60's. Will definitely try this. Not expensive to make either.
This looks absolutely yummy. Think I'll try making it for myself and freeze the leftovers for quick meals I can stick into the microwave. I live in Ontario, Canada and there is a grocery store that sells Scottish-style bangers that are made in my home province that might do the trick.
Yummm! You had me at Bangers n Mash but won me over when you used Sage! I love sage and am always looking for ways to use it. I'll be trying this for sure! Thank you!
Cheryl a master class ..looks amazing I just sit here drooling at your videos …thanks for making a Scottish expat in Thailand very happy have a great day and thanks again 🏴💪🏴💪🏴🙏🙏🙏
Ninja pots, you're getting fancy! My OG Ninja Foodi is still going strong, but I do get a bit jealous when I see some of the newer air fryers in different formats with way more cooking space. Ah well, they don't double up as a pressure cooker like my one does.
I found your channel by accident. It's winter here in South Africa, I shall be making your recipe, I've made sausage and mash loads of times but your recipe looks the best I've seen.
Good evening Cheryl, hope you’re keeping well too! This sausage & mash pie looks delicious 😋, thanks for sharing 🙏. Will give this a go next time I’m doing links & Tatties! Have you been treating yourself to some new pots & pans? Looking very professional, let us know what you think of them. I’m still using my blue swan ones, which are ok for me, but have to be ever so careful not to scratch them with spoons & my potato masher!😬 Take care & enjoy the rest of your week! xx 👩🏻🍳🍲👌💕💞💖

I’ve found warming the milk and butter before you add to the potato easy to blend and keeps the potato warm.
This is a fine tip. I have used it as well.
sausage&mashtastic!
the beans just make it
👍
Love the salt tip with the potatoes, thanks!
Ive just had my breakfast and I'm hungry again after watching this!

My Dad was Scottish (Arbroath) he always put really finely diced onion in his Mashies.
Cheers for the great recipes and well presented Vid's.

Beans are a must with any mash topped pie! ❤
Shepherd’s pie, yes! Fish pie, no 😉

Just made this for my family, first time! It is in the oven as I write. Thank you for the recipe.

You can also add Sour Cream and Chives in-to the mashed-potatoes, too. :);)
Always sour cream and a bit of parmesan.

It's jolly cold in Australia at the moment (my friend in Canberra reports -5C). I reckon a LOT of us will be doing this one :)
Hope you're wrapping up warm! 🥶
I heard that, being that chilly there. We're having a rainier than usual spring here in SE South Dakota, we've been hot then chilly, then hot again...

The Cumberland sausages make this dish for me. I just made the potato, onion, cabbage, and slivered ham hock one. This dish has more flavor appeal.
