      @@jazbeck because this is late in batmans career, Pattinson’s batman takes place in year two. It makes sense that he’d use a wingsuit in place of a traditional glider. Said scene is probably what inspires him to work a gliding function into his cape.

    • @jazbeck
      @jazbeck 2 роки тому +2

      @@Zug8415 I get that, but we're talking about a comic book movie about a millionaire that dresses up as a bat, so it doesn't need to make *that* kind of sense. I mean, the Nolan ones already did the 'realistic' approach and even in those Batman happens to look like a Bat.

    • @Zug8415
      @Zug8415 2 роки тому +5

      @@jazbeck realism and logic are two different things. Nolan’s batman had the glider, but he was condensed into an active time of 1 year, as apposed to the usual decade or multi-decade carrier of batman in the comics, and what I’d assume Pattinson will have. It was neccacery for him to get these things quickly. If you look at year one and the long Halloween (year two) his cape doesn’t turn into a glider in them, so it doesn’t need to in the movie set in year two either. This scene is setting up him getting the glider in the sequel, that’s logical

    This movie brings back so many good childhood memories. And while I did love this movie as a child, and honestly I still do, this could have been a GREAT Batman movie had it been a little more mature and the villains more serious. Val was splendid as both Bruce Wayne and Batman, still the best cinematic Batman voice to this day. Schaumacher is a competent enough director, his resume speaks for itself, and there are some GREAT scenes in there (Bruce and Dick finally teaming up, Bruce facing his inner demons) which proves this could have been a great Batman movie but it was the movie studios who pushed for a more campy and commercial Batman.

    • @codyt821
      @codyt821 Рік тому +2

      According to multiple reports, the original cut of this film was much darker, and there are many dark scenes that were shot and deleted in the final cut, by the studio. There is apparently a near complete cut of this film in the archives somewhere that has an altogether different tone, a much darker one. Schumacher and multiple producers have talked about it. Apparently it played up Bruce’s mental health problems much more, showed him as much darker and flawed, etc. there are hints of it still in the final film, but most of it was scrapped. I would love to get my hands on that cut of the film.

      @@thenoirknight5729 True but let's say *Two-Face goons* didn't place that tube there, from that height to the sewer opening there would've been nothing *Batman* could have done to save himself.
      Even if he had shot off one of his grabbling lines the moment he reached the sewer opening, the centrical force alone would have ripped his arm off and he would've bleed to death within minutes in sewage.
      Two-face and his gang would've been better off allowing him to drop to his death, problem solved by the Bat himself.

No explanation, no foreshadowing, just a Deus Ex Machina on Val Kilmer's utility belt that somehow blocks extreme temperatures and flame from harming the wearer of the Batsuit.
