I remember back that everyone hated Morrison's run and it was the reason for New 52. He is the reason why I didn’t read a single Batman book since 2006, except for Court Of Owls.
I love this development for Damian. I think it was genius for him to have possession of Thomas Wayne’s journal and is actually learning from it and applying himself out there for the betterment of himself. To see people side with Batman on this and get angry over Damian even just existing at this point is just so annoying to see.
Damian is my favorite robin and he has so much room to grow as a character hopefully one day he'll get an identity of his own like dick when he became Nightwing
I mean, Damian Wayne's origin is already bad and disrespectful towards every writer, pre Diddy Morrison. Talia Al Ghul has a way better concept and was a good human being until Morrison let out all the anti-Arab stereotypes from the Middle Ages. Morrison is sales-wise and, as a human being, awful.
@Vader_25 You do not bloody know Grant so stop fucking talking like u do! They are eccentric but not awful. They write 1 bad comic and you think it is the end of the world bloody grow up!!@@
@@mayotango1317 Talia used to feel conflicted between Ra's and Batman. Morrison came in and wanted to make her more villainous. im fine with how he wants to make readers see her as a villain. But he took her to the point of being a completely heartless villain who was willing to kill her own son once he is out of his usefulness to her. So what we have in modern days is other writers trying to give her redeeming quality like her wanting to be a better mother to Damien. But it isnt convincing because there are certain acts of cruelty that people would not forget (like being willing to kill your own son). Damien should not even come close to Talia anymore.
Great video Wes. It's always nice to see a positive reaction video. I'm enjoying Batman and Robin too, especially the relationship with Damian. I really don't get what people's issue with Damian is. He's brought in a lot of great character development for Batman
I’m indifferent about Damian. I don’t think they need to expand the Batfamily. They introduced him poorly and they started redeeming him on Supersons but then they screwed that up.
Not saying this is a good idea but one way they could take this story is: Maybe they do ship Damian off to medical school as a way to give him a break before the James Gunn movie. Maybe they leave on bad terms (like Nightwing year one) and then maybe Tim Drake fills in while Damian is away (this could solve the what do we do with Tim problem)
I really enjoy the Morrison Batman and Robin run. I find the exploration of broken family dynamics interesting and wish that element had been explored by others. I think the current run is well written, but I can't figure out how old Damian is supposed to be. At time he acts like a 10 year old, but in the next issue an older teen. I wish they'd clarify if he's been deaged like Tim or is a teen. That said, I am enjoying the run. I am not as confident that DC isn't moving Damian out of the Robin role in order to push Tim in the role. With Gunn having announced a B&R movie based on a run featuring Damian, it is obviously the perfect time to move Damian out of the role to feature Tim. If the movie were to be a hit and possibly attract readers, it only makes sense for the "current" run to be as far from that run as possible in order to confuse as many potential readers as possible.
One of my main issues with Damians character is that he just doesn't have a connection with Gotham. Which is why it's hard to get behind him becoming Batman if he ever replaced his father.
Grant Morrison, despite me enjoying maybe a third of each run, permanently destroyed both X-Men and Batman. (Morrison up until 2000 was one of my favorite writers. After 2000 he got high on his own supply/read his own press clippings, and has largely been terrible with a few standouts like All Star Superman and We 3.)
DC had the evergreen, the can't miss character, Batman. Between the movies, the animated series, the games, so many beloved, successful stories, they had a perfect blueprint, to a new writer, that illustrates why fans love this character. YET, they keep hiring people that either hate him, hate comics, and generally don't understand why this character is so important. Burying Batman isn't going to win you any points, with the audience that matters. I'm not a Damien hater, but his arc meant ruining Talia, as a character, and complicating the timeline. So, yet again, DC misses me, with whatever they're hyping up. Don't want to see Damian, don't want to see another Batman burial, and don't want to see any of these people still have jobs. To the back issues, I go.
Entiendo todo lo que dices , pero damian no tiene la culpa literalmete a arruinado a batman y a damian con decisiones estúpida no es la culpa del personaje es la culpa del escritor .

Damian is already the biggest disgrace to us Batman fans. I just don't get how you like a character that is the reason for the destruction of other characters.
De nuevo es culpa del escritor batman y damian son grandes personajes .la gente tiene un problema enorme odiando personajes y no buscan soluciones sensatas, por dios .
You obviously don’t understand the character then. I’m a Batman fan and I love Damian. His character is a kid who grew up raised to be bad is trying to change to be a hero. If you don’t get that then idk what to tell you.
I really enjoy Damien where he is in a way Bruce as kid where he’s obsessed and forgetting he’s a child and how other characters are bringing him to a somewhat normal life making him compassionate. For him to be leaving to work in the medical field is like him seeing he doesn’t have to be an assassin or even hurt ppl as a vigilante.
Thanks to 180+ issues of Chuck Dixon comic, Tim Drake was my Robin. And he's been wrecked for eternity. Now you want me to care what they're doing with this Damian Robin? Doesn't work that way.
I mean he should've asked permission to volunteer at the hospital instead of forging his father's signature and skipping school. Any parent would be livid if they forged it no matter what it was for.
Now this is the type of batman book I’ll subscribe to in a heartbeat so far! As a Damian fan I’m happy we’re getting real emotional development for him in something we haven’t seen yet for him, and best of all is making classic Batman a badass again at Arkham tower.
Ehh. But how long before it gets rebooted? Damian has been in this cycle of repeating the same character arc with a different shade of colour ever since Morrison's Batman and being Dick's Robin because outside of Supersons, that has been really his only worthwhile and memorable arc. I see people always complain about how Tim lacks iconic arcs that he's an important part outside of the Lonely Place of Dying that is his introduction. But really it's mostly the case for Damian too. For example his time with the Titans really sucked. Both pre 52 and Rebirth.
Yeah disagree, Williamson's Batman and Robin did more with Damian than anyone else has in a couple years. Between him being in school, expanding his relationship with Bruce and his awkardness around Flatline bc he likes her... all good stuff
Damian is easily my favorite - yes, even when he was blood thirsty nut - and this run is really good for his character. I love what the author is doing. I just hope DC doesn't revert him again, but knowing DC, they probably will.
@Vader_25 I don't get it, was Morrison on that list? If not, the joke falls flat. I'm also not a fan of Grant Morrison; only thing he's written that I like is Arkham Asylum. I just find it funny how people are still bitching about something that was 20 years ago.
I always really liked Damian, there was also another comic run set in the future where he’s grown up, I cannot remember what run it is. I think he was the leader of the League of Shadows, I can’t remember, but I do remember really liking him in that run.
Arhh, just the slop i expect of DC. Oddly Jason Todd robin already did this, turning down the final charage in a titan attack on brother bloods compound, so that he could carry someone to safety instead. Even told Donna he "found his calling".
Damian needs go independent and get his own name like Grayson. I feel wird the reaction on Batman. I think he will be happy if his son give up the vigilant life and become a doctor like his Thomas Wayne closing the circle. healing that generational skar.
This latest issue of batman and Robin absolutely blew me away. This series genuinely has a chance of overtaking Jeremy Adams GL as the best book at DC imo

Wes, please stop talking about Damian because damn Dion and his fake accounts are going crazy, seriously the guy needs to go to therapy and so much so that even after your fight with him. And he has so little self-esteem that he keeps paying you hahaha, good for you because he keeps making money, but the boy is a double-edged sword

I don't remember Ra's really being a doctor. The most I'd say is that he was like Rasputin in terms of his position.
In Robin #10, at least, he was said to be the Sultan's physician, though I'm sure that didn't mean an M.D.
Love the character assassination lmao
For all the smooth brained DC fans out there.

I love that "Damian fans" feel what every Batman fan feels since Epstein Morrison wrote his fanfiction.

I don't think uplifting Damian by making Batman a jerk is good way of doing this.
I hate Damian. I hope he gets removed forever. He is basically Mark Waid as a kiddo.
