  • I recently walked out to Moku'auia, Goat Island, on the North Shore of Oahu. I picked a time based on the tide charts and you should also.
The tide chart website I used is here - www.tide-forecast.com/locatio...
I mentioned my hiking shoes that drain water very easily and have stiffer rubber soles than reef walkers, you can find them here - amzn.to/3CeR6qW

I was just going to say that. Insane! A local, pro surfer, lifeguard, in movies. The dude knew that area like the back of his hand. He had been surfing there more than 30 years if not mistaken. Very sad. RIP.
Thank you for this video I was really curious if the area.

Locals call Goats “sharky”, referring specifically to Tigers. I have heard there is a nearby freshwater stream that empties into the ocean, and it is also known for being a Tiger shark nursery. (My understanding is that mama Tigers often return to their nurseries every year, not only to give birth, but to mate with males…?) Goat Island is also home to a protected bird sanctuary.
Sadly, I do not think there is much to debate as far as what happened in this particular situation. So tragic. 💔

I'm older now so I don't think I'll be making the journey, but thanks for showing it to me, beautiful place

We did this back in 2013 when we rented an awesome house on Hukilau Beach. It was very cool doing it, but the rocks were slippery even with water shoes, so it took a good while to get over there.

This was really interesting to me. After all my trips to Oahu, I’ve never seen this. Thanks

Gotta watch the tides closely right? Dont want to get trapped on the island until the next low tide which can be 10-12 hrs.
