- Breaking a PB, is there a better feeling out there! Im going to have to say no, this fish was a big one for me! First clear musky, first French River musky, first top water and biggest of all time! Enjoy the video and make sure to subscribe to our channel!
Haha I know the cottage! Been paddling canoes there for many years it is kind a marker of: Hey we are back home :) Awesome job, I think I would have gone straight overboard lol
Hahah almost did thanks for watching!
Well done
Awesome bud. Love the French River …good times
Cheers! Amazing spot for sure
Leaving in 3 hours for my first Canadian musky trip headed to the French and Georgian Bay I truly hope for one giant
Good luck, bag a giant!!
Great video! We have a cabin on Ox bay near the French river lodge. Can’t wait to get back up there this summer
Such a special place, thanks for watching!
Great video man. I used to fish musky tournament's on the french with muskies canada. Great fishery
Appreciate that, amazing fishery! Looking to get into musky tournaments, not much around southern Ontario but would be a crazy experience
Great day of fishing. Cheers. Well done
Appreciate that was definitely one for the books!
Amazing video! awesome fish handling, Was done perfectly!
Cheers, appreciate that! Most important part of musky fishing!
Awesome lure! i caught my first and second muskies on that same top water. Both 48's in the Massey area :) Definitely an addicting catch :)
Thats Unreal! Safe to say a couple more have been added to the collection, thanks for checking out the video!
What’s that lure called!?
Keep making these man this was a sweet vid
Really appreciate it and glad you liked it! We will keep the content coming
I've been going to the French River for over 50 years. I've seen 50+ lb'ers near 60" Snapping lines, broken nets, even Lures themselves snapping. I've landed 45" Northerns and blah blah blah. No video but for old film, video tape or pictures. But NOW you guys WEIGH YOUR FREAKIN' CATCH ONLINE!!!
Hey David, thanks for watching! Gonna have to go against your wishes there, way to much stress on a fish to get a weight, with length and girth you can get a proper estimation of weight, no need to be putting the fish under unnecessary pressure, especially in the summer!
Amazing
ya spead the word take very good care of caught fish
Absolutely most important thing!
Very cool
Cheers, appreciate it!!
I finally recognized the elephant's back rock in the Voyageur's Channel ;-) I used to guide up there. I worked at Kamp Kaintuck, French River Lodge, Hartley Bay House, and the now-defunct Bad River Lodge. I'm sure you've seen the musky at Bears Den courtesy of Mr. Ryder? Because he was a small man and apparently only fished musky, he had Geisler Boats make him a custom cedarstrip with shallow gunnels so he could roll the musky into the boat rather than lifting it. Do you go down to the Bad River or stay up top? There are some great places below the rapids.
Hahaha good eyes, such an awesome spot, great scenery and some juicy fishing areas! The cabin we stay at is about a 40 minute trek from down there so we dont get to make the journey as much as we would like to! I can imagine there are countless amazing musky spots around there!
@@backlashangling I know the place. I think Jim and Ginny Rook lived there, or next door. Ginny became the Mayor of Killarney a few years ago. She may still be. A local native I worked with took me night fishing for musky. The sun had just set as we pulled into a small bay off the main French River west of the French RIver Lodge he grabbed a paddle and smacked the water. Ten seconds later he smacked the water again. He whispered, "Listen. Don't move.". Ten seconds later we were startled by a loud splash maybe 20M from the boat as a musky jumped out of the water to mark it's territory. We cast lines but without success. Moments that last a lifetime. Cheers.
Hey I use to go to KK and I own a place now off Ox Bay, known as the old scout camp/tinnerman
@@stephenf3952 You got the deal of the century on that place methinks. That's the the old Tinnerman's Canoe Club?
@@stephenf3952 I know / knew Tinnerman's Canoe Club well. Part of the Boy Scouts of America (Cleveland). It was busy during the 70s but usage dropped during the 80s and by the 90s it was almost never used. What are your plans for the place?
Awesome Lubge👏PB even Insane👌
That Hit on top.. Absolutely Priceless🤙
and ur releases.. 10/10.
Overall: Amazing Video👍😎🤙
Much appreciated, one of our most epic eats for sure!
I lived up their my whole life, further up on the island their is a chimney go 15 feet away and u can catch walleye.
Thats awesome might need to put that knowledge to work!
French river is an amazing place. Usually go there twice a year for a week each but never have caught a musky there! Had a monster pit the buck tail then follow me up to the boat it was a hog! What part were you in? We used to go to wolsely Bay Area but have since started going to the upper French at Dokis
Such a special place, the cottage we stay at is near Hartley Bay we caught our muskies on a bit of a run from camp! Close to Georgian Bay!
Always wanted to try the Wolseley area. Is it charted? Is it any different than the other areas.
@@lookanabeauti9386 there are a couple lodges along the lower French that provide guiding services and accommodations! Targeting, musky, smallies and walleye!
Hey man is that below hartley right before bad river rapids? Awesome video and even better fish haha! Nevermind just double checked the ending again I know those rapids. I always thought about fishing there right before the jump "bad river rapids" the french is beautiful great video hopefully this year I catch my first musky!
