I've been fishing this area since I was 2 years old. I worked at Kamp Kaintuck as a fishing guide when I was 13, guided and laboured at French River Lodge at 14 & 15, guided at Bad River Lodge (now defunct) below the Crooked Rapids for a couple of years, and at the HB Marina as well. I also knew the people who owned the camp you flew over - the wife of the couple was the Mayor of Killarney for 2 or 3 years. My father was a member of the HB Club, the place on the point near the marina, and in the mid-80s bought a camp in Ox Bay. Unfortunately, his wife sold it. I haven't been up in several years but I'm heading there soon and was glad to hear the fish are plentiful. Have you fished the Bad River below the rapids? It's spectacular. I hope to get some night fishing done down there as that's when the bay fish come in to the shallower waters to feed. Then head back to HB Marina from Georgian Bay around midnight. Hope the rocks haven't moved ;-) Also hoping to see the Perseid Meteor Shower peak the night of August 13/23. Thanks,,, I enjoyed your video. Be well. PS: I'm 60 now!
Thanks for sharing, you sure know the area extremely well! Love when people know all the names of the spots throughout the river, we have fished the Bad River below the Voyageur, struck out but man does it ever look great for musky! The fish are definitely plentiful we just got back from our annual trip and had our best numbers ever and one big one (video will be coming soon), good luck when you get up there!
@@backlashangling Thanks! There was a man named Ryder who came up to Bear's Den Lodge each year for 3 weeks and he fished only muskie. He was a small guy and fished alone I understand so he had a custom cedar strip boat built with crazy shallow sides so he could roll the muskies in by leaning to one side or the other. Stop into the Bear's Den as they likely have photos or even mounts of his fish. I believe he may have had the Ontario record years ago. I await your next video.
Been into bears Den a few times, some absolute crazy mounts and pictures there, thats a hilarious story, who needs a net when ya can just slide them in haha@@scottheywood6502

how deep are you fishing for walleye in? and how deep to target muskie? thanks
We are fishing walleye from 26-29 feet! Musky are more held on structure and current so the depths vary, they can be anywhere from 7-30 feet in the summer months!

The cottage we stay at is 10 minutes down river from the Hartley Bay Marina!
@@backlashangling I spent two weeks there in June. I figured that area looked familiar. Your statement of fish being better closer to Georgian was interesting. We found better fishing north area :)
