- In this video I remove concrete hip tiles and replace them for lead ones. There was a few surprises along the way. One of them being every slate was screwed. I definitely didn't want to break any slates on this one.
I hope you enjoy. - Навчання та стиль
The Flat Roof system looks knackered !! So much bubbling
It was fine before it had to be peeled back to remove the old lead. After 10 years I was amazed how well it was still bonded onto the lead. It’s now all being replaced.
Thanks for watching.
Hey Stuart. Great work as always 🙂👍
Thank you. I really enjoyed this. Thanks for watching.
Very nice work indeed!
Can ridges be done the same, or is it just for hips?
Thank you.
Yes it’s exactly the same principle for ridges too.
Thanks for watching.
Hello, lovely work. What is the advantage of using lead for the hips instead of concrete tiles? Is it just appearance or are there other benefits?
Hi, thank you. The advantage is it being maintenance free and it also has a longer life span. Also the mortar kept falling out and I think it was only a matter of time before the wind had them off.
I bought some lead a few weeks back and I was shocked at the price. 😮
Yes it’s not cheap. But it does work out the cheapest in the long run if it’s done right.
Thanks for watching.
Great video mate
I was watching your set up video earlier and was just wondering does the oxygen run out before the acetylene gas 👍
Thank you and thanks for watching.
Yes generally I use to oxygen to one acetylene.
Mate… I think it’s time to let go of that chalk line. If not, just slap some Patination oil on it
I know lol🤦🏻♂️😂😂. I’ve made another vid using it and it really is screaming in that one 😂. Going live next Sunday.
Very good Stuart as someone has just asked advantage of lead over concrete ?
Thank you. The advantages are that’s it’s maintenance free. It has a longer life span. Also the mortar kept falling out. And I think it was only a matter of time before the wind had the concrete tiles off. Thanks for watching.
