Okay I need to mention how much you were literally gushing while describing the desk your husband built. It’s so cute how proud and appreciative you are. , cheers Thanks for the video
Your space is so impressive! We are moving to a new house and I am losing my sewing room, but there is an extra walk in closet with a window which is similar in size to your sewing room. You have inspired me beyond measure! Thank you for sharing!
I would switch places of the desk and folding table (great idea by the way), so you have daylight while sewing and also can reach those drawers. Other than that- chapeau for the tiny but functional space
I love your room! I have sewn in a full range of spaces, from a whole dedicated room to completely makeshift, tiny spaces. I do like the cozy and contained feel of a small space. I always remember this quote: “ Vermeer found a life’s work in the corner of a room.”
great use of a small. pace. I took permanent custody of 4 of my grand children this year. Needless to say my scrapbook room is now my granddaughter's room. I have struggled with organizing and fitting all my scrap stuff into my bedroom. Seeing your room has inspired me to get it together. Thanks for the inspiration.
My mom used to say.."Good things come in small packages". Definitely true of your sweet little sewing space. Thanks for sharing! Great job of making the most of what you have....very inspiring!
"Pressing Ham" so that is what one of those things is. I picked up an old garage sale sewing machine this weekend and that was in the little kit with it. Most computer monitors can be bolted to a wall mount fold out arm or a television wall mount system (Ikea probably has a couple styles) and then you can gain back all that space where the monitor is sitting.
Lol, yes because it looks a bit like a ham. Oh that's a neat idea about the computer, thanks for the suggestion. Not sure what wall I could mount it on though!
My husband was so kind to help me create my little sewing space in our home. So much easier to enjoy my sewing journey ... I like to keep it clean and very organised ... my happy place.
Hi there! I just discovered you today and I'm so glad I did! Your new smaller sewing space looks fabulous with everything organized and laid out beautifully! It's like a perfect jigsaw puzzle! I am new to sewing because i have more time, having retired recently, so my husband put up shelves, etc. to create a sewing space for me. It is in a smallish corner of our upstairs hallway and I love using an area that would typically not be use. You have given me lots of news ideas for this space... I'm very grateful (eg: mirror, folding fabrics in rolls, a fold up table, seated area for ironing, etc., etc.! I watched your video showing the fabrics you ordered from Miss Matatabi and I've spent a couple wonderful hours scrolling her website! I love the fabrics you chose... I too am a lover of pretty florals, stripes and solids. I can't wait to watch more of your videos. I'm wondering if you have ever watched The Last Homely House on UA-cam, from the Northumberland area of England? I'm learning how to quilt from my precious neighbours and by watching Kate Jackson on the LHH. Again, thank you for sharing your passion with us. Happy day to you! Margie
Just as a note to anyone I did buy a used gate leg table but to make it higher for cutting and standing I use bed risers. Table can them be taken off, used outside for patio seating and anything you want!
I am a guy...so workshops and garages are a big deal to me...but trying to figure out how to do some 'sunbrella' canvas work in a small space...and you gave me some very useful ideas...thank you...much appreciated...and I certainly appreciated your husband's carpenter skills.
I completely agree that those of us who have a designated sewing space are very lucky! I am a quilt-maker and love that folding Ikea Norden table! I sew on two Linnmon table tops that have been attached to 2 bookshelves (now unavailable and the name I cannot remember) placed back to back to provide me with lots of storage space. When I am assembling a quilt top, or machine quilting, I do not always have enough space to the left of my sewing machine, so I think that table is in my future, lol! My ironing table is an old flat door on top of 2 Kallax (4 space) shelving units that my dad and I put on castors so that it can be moved around when needed. I have also tucked a pair of Raskog utility carts underneath for extra storage. I am very fortunate to have a dad who is handy and who is always willing and able to help me build what I need to make my sewing room work for me. Thank you for showing us your sewing space!
Oh wow I didn't think such a tiny space could be THAT functional ??? I love it !!! I feel like the effort of getting out the machines from drawers and plugging them each time and also not being able to walk in the room and see my fabric would put me off creatively but apart from that your space is super cool ??? I have more space that you do and somehow I feel like the opposite (well it's not a room just half of my living room so doors and heaters and windows are making it feel like less space)because of how I need to rethink my whole sewing space!! I've been seeing this folding table a lot in sewing space videos and it's kinda growing on me!!
What a fantastic use of space. I just redid my sewing room so I'm seeing a lot of sewing room videos and it's great to see so many great ideas at work. I am going to check your channel now to see if it's changed since May 2019.
Awesome room! Here is one hint : the hole on the left between the ikea table and the wall can be used to slide the scraps into, and the bin underneath would catch them.
Brilliant use of space!! I prefer smaller spaces too, because I’ve found that with a big room, the empty space just fills up with excess stuff, and it’s more to keep track of and manage. A small room forces me to stay organized and only keep things I really need.
Wow great use of space. Just got another idea for your space where the big mirror is if you ever want to replace it. You could replace it with mirrored medicine cabinets great height for your spray starch for pressing and your sewing threads or other things... its just a thought :)
Oh that's a really cool idea, thanks for the suggestion. Hopefully some others will see your comment and be able to put it into practice in their sewing spaces too!
Isn’t it funny how the challenge of a space can make you love it all the more! Love all the hacks and special makes. Nice to involve our partners in our sewing! 😉
Absolutely, the challenge was kinda fun! And yes, it was fun to get him involved - he actually loves a woodwork project and was the one who suggested the desk so I wasn't going to say no! lol
Love your sewing room , I have a small bedroom that I want to change to a craft room but every time I go in I just have to come out again it full of stuff. I would love to get it sorted like yours you and your husband did a great job with it.
This is the most, super duper "small space" sewing room I've ever seen or ever will see! I love it. What a wonderful hubbie too. Wood shop must have been one of his favorite classes. A beautiful job from the both of you. May GOD Bless.
You really help visualize the use of the space. I don’t sew, but I enjoy watching others sew and learning about the craft. Thanks for sharing your space and talent.
I have a very, very small sewing space too; it's amazing how clever one gets when one has to be economical with space. One definite perk is that a small space is much faster to clean up than a larger one!
Well i have a sewing channel and don’t even have a sewing room. I am just sitting underneath the stairs!! Your room looks lovely. Must be great to have a special room where you can close the door when you want to work. With me everyone is walking around me and i cut on the kitchentable so then everyone has to be quit when i have to film.
I have that same table. I’ve noticed it works if you’re to the right of the middle section but not to the left because of the way the leg folds out. Great setup for a small space. My sewing space is about that small but it’s in a section of the living room. Whatever works. My kids are getting close to moving out and I’m looking forward to having everything in a “cat free” room. OMG the fur!!! lol
It’s not the size, its the great storage. I am now in my largest room ever for sewing. I went form a closet in a guest room which was my usual or if in a my own room when younger sharing apartment with sister had a sewing corner but also have sewn in a garage, at top of car and used washer and dryer as my “table”...but now have what was a former 2 car garage made into workshop by former owner builder of this home and I’m less organized! More room doesnt mean organized. Ive opted to keep a lot of my things in the letter size white boxes. There is a full size double door closet and they fit in there but since I upcycle thrift clothing had my partner add more hanging bars. One wall is all open bookcases. Debating trying to origami the boxes into smaller sizes to fit there. One wall is all cabinets and sink that most kitchens dont have. I have 7 machines now and plan on teaching. The bookcases are my pain. They block two outlets so if machines are close cannot access bookcases. I’m debating if dragging off walls and turning would be any better. Ok, thinking out loud. But borrowing some ideas here. You did great!
I love your sewing room. I have a small space like that. I also love the folding table!! Thanks for sharing! So many idea's you have given me! Your husband did a wonderful job building the desk!!
ohhh that’s also you!!! (I just commented on another video from a sewing space you had before I think) you are literally one of the only person on youtube that has a sewing space that has inspired me in my last week of browsing through organizing tips
Love your space! Thank you for sharing. I have that same gateleg table and want to put wheels on it - especially now since I have back issues and cannot move it around like I used to. Can you show the bottom of it so I can show my husband? Thank you so much!
Awesome desk, your husband did a fabulous job! I like the idea of having the sewing table on rolling casters. I have this table and think I'll do the same. The mirror is a great idea, to reflect daylight and to make the room feel larger. I use mirrors a lot to help create more light and space.
Putting castors on the table really helped so much, especially since I move it around so much - as you know, it is HEAVY! Oh yes, the mirror was SUCH a massive help in this small space!
Naughty Bynature good luck! I saw folding tables you can buy and fold up when done which frees up the table but they are about 150-200 dollars I think. 👍
Dude your making me second guess my sewing room plans ahhh!! My sewing room is being combined with my bedroom, and i need enough space for the bed, a desk for gaming and drawing (beautiful laptop that does both), a cutting station, and a sewing station. what i was gonna do is take two ikea cube units 2x3 and put them on their side and put a countertop on it for a cutting table, and leave legroom on one side for the machine, but then everything would be squashed for the desk. I think a colapsable table would work perfect for me.
I'm the same trying to make one room do everything. My ex-husband solved it by moving out. Still small 3 m x 4m. Horn cabinet that folds up life-saver.
Enjoyed seeing your storage methods and tips. Love the Ikea table--it's something that would work well in my sewing/guest room to give me the extra space to cut out patterns; and then tuck it away.
I like your sewing room it gave me ideas with a rm I m thinking of using Now to fix the rm so I ll be able to sew and leave a project in place till I. Can get back to and not have to put it away every time I need to stop
A very nice video. You are well spoken and presented your sewing room very nicely. (Some applause also for your handy husband.) I love the drawers and especially that unfolding sewing table. Thank you for the video, I love to see people's work spaces.
I have that table for my sewing space also and I’m currently looking at casters to add. A video of your husband’s modifications would be great, or if you could share what casters he used, I’d really appreciate it!
I'm going to be filming a really quick vlog with him to chat through what he did. We had to add a panel to the base because we couldn't get small enough casters that would fit on the base of each leg and could lock. Hopefully I'll have the vlog up in the next week or so!
Thanks for making this video. Your room may be tiny but it is organised and tidy. Good for you. I am glad to see someone else keeps their fabric folded in drawers. I see many people with fabric on open shelves because it looks pretty. Yes it does but doesn't it get dusty? I have my fabric folded in drawers and my thread! Thanks for the tour.
My sewing room is about the same size as yours, but a complete mess. I absolutely love your room! I can see a few trips to Ikea coming up as I want to copy from your room as much as I can!
Nice that your husband is so handy! I have that same Ikea table in white and my husband put casters on it as well. I love it for cutting fabric etc. Your videos are amazing and provide me with so much inspiration.
That is a fantastic sewing room. I had a neighbor that had a tiny room off of her dining room that used to be a butlers pantry, she turned it into a sewing room, like you have but I think it was even smaller than yours, it had a great window in it with northern light exposure, it was perfect for her quilt making. My husband is working on my sewing room in the basement it has an escape window that is quite large and lets in a ton of light I found French doors (that’s what we call double doors with glass pains, in the US) that will look out into the rest of the Finished basement that has a fireplace, furniture and TV set. Sounds fantastic doesn’t it, so why am i not super excited about it? I think it’s because it’s spring and all of the flowers are starting to bloom and I’ll be stuck in the basement, (I can always sew at night), in the fall and winter I think I’ll be fine. Any way, I think your sewing room is perfect! You can see outside, you have tons of light coming in, everything fits in perfectly and it’s cute! I’m happy for you and you’re right, a dedicated sewing room is a luxury and I’m glad you have one and your son has a bigger bedroom. I look forward to your videos, Cindy.
Wow, your friends house sounds so interesting! And yes I know what you mean about sewing inside while the world is waking up outside. I absolutely sew more in the Autumn and Winter than the rest of the year. Hope you enjoy your sewing room xxx Thanks for your lovely comment x
My sewing room is also in the basement, with a small window. I have lots of task lighting and that makes it work, but I am so jealous of this gorgeous light and airy room too!
Have you watched Bonnie Hunter on quiltcam.com? She has a huge basement sewing room. Could you add spring colors by framing your escape doors with a vine of silk flowers?
dc in rb : Hi, thanks for the thoughtful idea. I watched a couple of videos by Bonnie Hunter, her basement sewing room has fantastic lighting, I’ll have to put some in like she has, that will make it much brighter. The room that will be my sewing room was a bedroom, so it had one light in the ceiling and lamps on the side tables, so it wasn’t very bright. I was thinking I could put some potted flowers in the window well too, that way I will be able to see them when I’m down there. Michigan winters are long and cold, so when it’s spring and summer I want to enjoy every bit of it outside. I am very great full that I’ll have a dedicated sewing room, no more cleaning off the table so we can eat dinner, yea! Thanks again.
Your sewing space is so well organized! I like the idea of using glass jars to keep sewing notions. The glass jars for example make the rook look so fancy in its organization
Okay I need to mention how much you were literally gushing while describing the desk your husband built. It’s so cute how proud and appreciative you are. , cheers Thanks for the video
That room of yours is amazing! I cannot believe how much extra space that extendable table gives you. 👏 Very well organised 🏆enjoy your space! 🌹
I really like the way you’ve got all the surfaces at the same level to create a big space for cutting out etc. very smart!
Mum's are so selfless! The thought that you had to give up your bigger room for your growing son is so touching!
Your space is so impressive! We are moving to a new house and I am losing my sewing room, but there is an extra walk in closet with a window which is similar in size to your sewing room. You have inspired me beyond measure! Thank you for sharing!
Oh I'm so glad the video was inspiring for your own space!
I would switch places of the desk and folding table (great idea by the way), so you have daylight while sewing and also can reach those drawers. Other than that- chapeau for the tiny but functional space

Thank you x
Hi, what a lovely arrangement. Can you tell me did you do a video on what your husband did to the gate leg table please.
It looks beautiful! You've done a LOT with a small room. Thanks for sharing. It's always fun to see how people organize their sewing spaces.
The thing I love about your space is that it is efficient due to the self limiting size of it. Less opportunities to hoard items etc!!
Glad your husband is so considerate of your needs! That is awesome in it's self! You did very well in such a small space!
I love your sewing room room and those drawers for the sewing machine are genius!
Thanks!
My husband was so kind to help me create my little sewing space in our home. So much easier to enjoy my sewing journey ... I like to keep it clean and very organised ... my happy place.
Ah that's wonderful! Yes, this really is my happy little place too xxx

I love watching Kate, too!❤
Love your tiny space!!❤
Just as a note to anyone I did buy a used gate leg table but to make it higher for cutting and standing I use bed risers. Table can them be taken off, used outside for patio seating and anything you want!
I am a guy...so workshops and garages are a big deal to me...but trying to figure out how to do some 'sunbrella' canvas work in a small space...and you gave me some very useful ideas...thank you...much appreciated...and I certainly appreciated your husband's carpenter skills.
I love how well thought out your space is! Great job! Looks so neat and tidy!
Wow your husband is so supportive of you! Love all the stuff he's built
Don't apologize for your videos... if they are part of your community they should know you ...If they dont let them...
I completely agree that those of us who have a designated sewing space are very lucky! I am a quilt-maker and love that folding Ikea Norden table! Very efficient room! Took me over 30 yrs to get my sewing room! I will never give it up now!!! TFS. Christine
It's definitely very special to have a dedicated sewing room isnt it?!
Your husband did a great job on the folding desk....very nice
Thank you! I've passed your kind message on to him :)
I think it's beautiful you put a lot of thought into this room and your husband did a great job thank you for sharing
What a fantastic use of space. I just redid my sewing room so I'm seeing a lot of sewing room videos and it's great to see so many great ideas at work. I am going to check your channel now to see if it's changed since May 2019.

So true!
Wow this is a wonderful gift that your husband made for you. It is so organized!! Congratulations
Excellent use of space. Reminds me of tiny homes. I am always amazed how they can maximize the use of space that they have.
I'm about to seriously downsize. Your sweet little room is inspiring me. Thank you! God bless 🙏
When I had my child she got my sewing room and I got the guest room closet. I cannot wait to build my dream room in the basement
Isn’t it funny how the challenge of a space can make you love it all the more! Love all the hacks and special makes. Nice to involve our partners in our sewing! 😉
Absolutely, the challenge was kinda fun! And yes, it was fun to get him involved - he actually loves a woodwork project and was the one who suggested the desk so I wasn't going to say no! lol
thank you, there are a lot of great solutions for storing things neatly and gracefully.
will try this in my new apartment.
Love your sewing room , I have a small bedroom that I want to change to a craft room but every time I go in I just have to come out again it full of stuff. I would love to get it sorted like yours you and your husband did a great job with it.
Well I will admit that my room was super tidy for this video...its a little more chaotic on a normal day! lol!
That is such a perfect, organised and inspirational workspace you and your husband have created! Loved how you've used the space so efficiently!
Your husband is amazing. He can do so beautiful furnitures.
This is the most, super duper "small space" sewing room I've ever seen or ever will see! I love it. What a wonderful hubbie too. Wood shop must have been one of his favorite classes.
A beautiful job from the both of you. May GOD Bless.
You are so sweet, thank you so much! And yes, I am so grateful for my husband! xx
Mine is small but, horrible to clean because there is no space to even turn around.
Well i have a sewing channel and don’t even have a sewing room. I am just sitting underneath the stairs!! Your room looks lovely. Very nice 😊 You've done a great job and you are so blest to have a husband who is talented and works with your ideas. Thank you for sharing. Lovely ❣️
I’ll suggest a power strip attached to the table that holds your sewing machine and serger. It’s a very nice, well organized room
Your new room is great. I think it is better utilized than your larger room. Well done and seems to have a lot more working spaces. Bravo.
I agree, the space is working a lot harder than my old room.
this is such a charming space! i love the folding table, what a clever solution
I absolutely loved it, the bigger the room, more stuff we have.
Oh so true!
It’s not the size, its the great storage. I am now in my largest room ever for sewing. Thank you!
@@Threadquarters you're welcome!
My husband made a sewing room for me, too, above our garage. We are very lucky ladies. Great tour. Thank you for sharing.
Lucky lades indeed! Thanks for your lovely comment x
ohhh that’s also you!!! (I just commented on another video from a sewing space you had before I think) you are literally one of the only person on youtube that has a sewing space that has inspired me in my last week of browsing through organizing tips
I love this room! When I get my own house, I'll build a room like this. ♡♡♡
Love your space! Thank you for sharing. I have that same gateleg table and want to put wheels on it - especially now since I have back issues and cannot move it around like I used to. Can you show the bottom of it so I can show my husband? Thank you so much!
I have a space in the garage, small but functional. I'm going to use some of your ideas to upgrade its little!
Your sewing room is amazing! And hubby brilliant for customizing for you! Thank you for sharing and inspiring.
Thank you. Yes, I am so grateful for all the things my husband made for my sewing room, he's a keeper! x
I love the cutting table, your husband did a great job. I plan to have one did for my small Sewing room. Enclosed from porch. Long but narrow.
The natural sun light will be wonderful to sew it. I'm sure all will turn out fine. Enjoy!
Where did you get the cutting table? What height and width and Length?
Your husband is so sweet to do these things for you. Love your room.
He is a sweetheart. Thank you x
Your husband did a fantastic job!! I want to start sewing again, so I need a space to organize and create.
Thank you, he really did didn't he? I'm very grateful.
Really nice. I’m using a corner in my bedroom so space is very limited. Your video is giving me hope. Thanks.
Glad it helps, good luck! 😁
Awesome desk, your husband did a fabulous job! I like the idea of having the sewing table on rolling casters. I have this table and think I'll do the same. The mirror is a great idea, to reflect daylight and to make the room feel larger. I use mirrors a lot to help create more light and space.

Wow! What a great use of space! Props to the hubster....
Ahh thanks, I'll tell him!
👌
Your space so closely resembles a room I have in my home. Thanks for the tour. Right now my sewing is in my dining/living room. 😉
Dianna Leigh mine sewing space is also my living/dining room need to find an inexpensive sewing table hopefully soon happy sewing
Naughty Bynature good luck! I saw folding tables you can buy and fold up when done which frees up the table but they are about 150-200 dollars I think. 👍
Dianna Leigh I know IKEA sells them I just found out for $78 going to check it out but thank you for the tip happy sewing
I love your sewing room, and yes would like to see how your husband added rolling coasters to your sewing table! Thank you
Brilliant use of space. So well organised.
You made great use of your space! I love your wall of drawers, and your cutting table set up fits perfectly. Wow! I love it all! Thanks for sharing
I have a small sewing studio as well and I love it, you find creative ways to make more space. Loved your tour!
Your room is completely cute and clever.
That’s fantastic. I love that room. Your husband did awesome.
Thank you! Yes, I'm so grateful for all the things my husband did for my room!
Dude your making me second guess my sewing room plans ahhh!!

Enjoyed seeing your storage methods and tips. Love the Ikea table--it's something that would work well in my sewing/guest room to give me the extra space to cut out patterns; and then tuck it away.
Well done. Impressed at what you and your husband were able to accomplish in the space available. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!
What a great husband you have, he has done such a fantastic job! 👍👍
Ah thank you, yes, I am so grateful for everything he does for me. I shall tell him your lovely comment! x
Wowwww... it’s so awesome
Thumbs up for ur loving husband..
I was thinking of set up a sewing place.. now i hv a great idea
Thanks!
Beautiful.the way you organized everything! Good job!
it's small but organized and most definitely cozy, i love it!
Yes! Thank you!
I like your sewing room it gave me ideas with a rm I m thinking of using Now to fix the rm so I ll be able to sew and leave a project in place till I. Can get back to and not have to put it away every time I need to stop
Good luck with your room! Glad my video helped
It's a great crafting table isn't it? And thank you so much for your lovely comment! xxx
I love your space. Can you tell more about how you fold your fabric. Mine is stored in a dresser as well, but does not look that organized!
I really loved your sewing area and the way you maximized it's space. Great job!!
You have a room for sewing! I do mine in the corner of our bedroom. Well done hubby for the props
Yes, as I said, super grateful to have a room for my sewing!
Now we need to see some sewing i like to try a quilt as you go without sashing that is a beautiful table i sure did enjoyed that video thanks
Damn, sis. This room is brilliant. I love your use of space, it's like a beautiful 3D puzzle.
Love it..I've got a corner in my lounge I'm using...A dresser and an extending table and needing to use the space wisely..it CAN be done..tfs 😀
I have the same size room as you and nearly same layout , I love my woman cave and as you say they get untidy very quickly
This is a great sewing machine, it's very functional.
I really wish my husband was handy 🙄 It's a good job I am 😁 Thanks for sharing your space.
simply amazing room, you and your husband have brilliant ideas..... thank you for sharing
Your sewing space is so well organized! I like the idea of using glass jars to keep sewing notions. The glass jars for example make the rook look so fancy in its organization
and i love your table and i have ever seen one like it.
Such a cute and perfect little space! Tiny yet useful. Looks like so much fun!
The gift wrap idea is genius. Il try that
