As a Liverpool fan i’m not inclined to side with Chelski, but that was absolute robbery yesterday. Better side by a mile. What is VAR there for if not to catch stuff like hair pulling. It’s a joke. Too many people in control, who have never played the game.

I as a Spurs fan have to say I agree, we got stomped and I'm not complaining about the fact we pulled of the heist if the century for a point, did it at Leicester, did it at Ajax, did it at Chelsea.
We have had so many times we've been robbed by ref's or VAR but if we don't all hold it to the same standard then we can't expect it to improve. It's purpose is to overturn wrong decisions or to have the referee review previous incidents. If it wasn't doing that then WHAT WAS IT DOING???
Still, believe it or not it wasn't just Spurs getting away with stuff, felt like the ref was almost overcorrecting his bias from the noise of the bridge because so many times he made terrible calls and it happened for both sides. Still I don't want to entirely blame him because once again WHERE IS VAR???

Although I agree Chelsea were the better team by a mile & deserved to win, but VAR doesn't step in to correct all decisions within the game. The hair pulling was checked for violent conduct, which it isn't as per the current law. I think, the Richarlison decision was a definite offside though, because the keeper has to factor in a deflection from Richarlison before diving for the original shot.

You cant blame the ref for missing the hair pulling, if you watch the replay from behind the goal you can see he's looking at the ball at the near post. The blame goes to VAR for not checking it and advising the ref to go over to the monitor. That being said Chelsea did fail to defend the corner. The first goal is a clear offside, Mendy has his weight on his left leg having to look around Richarlason, who's directly in the vision of the keeper, the ball goes to his right which is why hes so slow to dive as he has to redirect his weight to go the oppersite direction. Plus the minute Richarlason moves his body so the ball goes around him he becomes active which is what I thought was the rules of offside.

I don't understand how any of the Spurs goals can be determined to be favours from Anthony Taylor or there's been an Anthony Taylor agenda against Chelsea in this game.
The tackle on Havertz was questionable or a certain foul from the initial tv angle as I wondered how Bentancur had got away with that, however if you see the replays from the referee's angle its not a foul...clearly got the ball hence the play carried on. The Spurs goal that goes in 45 seconds later (if its going to be ruled out) has to be ruled out by the linesman or VAR for interference / obstruction from Richarlison. Neither of which happened so nothing to do with Anthony Taylor.
Likewise the Cucurella / Romero incident is a foul / red card which I can only assume that Taylor hasn't seen as he's probably watching the flight of the ball, so again the referee has to be reliant on VAR. The fact that the replay of that incident was shown multiple times before the next corner was taken would suggest that VAR were checking it but they didn't invite the referee to check it himself via the monitor. Again... ultimately nothing to do with Anthony Taylor.
If there are questions to be answered it's perhaps around VAR
Spurs were fortunate for the point, Chelsea were unlucky not to take all three but that is football. As everybody knows these things tend to even themselves out over a season.

Cucurella was trying the face towards and hold the opponent rather than face the ball. This was outlawed some time ago. This was before Romero pulled him down so if the ref had seen it then it’s a penalty and then possibly then a red card for Romero for retaliation if it was deemed serious enough although Cucurella wasn’t hurt. James foul on Kane late on when already on a yellow was a close call for a second yellow not mentioned and Spurs didn’t make a fuss just got on with it. Chelsea also glossed over the push in the back of Kulu when they won the ball for their second goal and again no whinging from Spurs.

finally someone intelligent here! its shocking how many people actually think he hates chelsea. the reason he gets so many big games involving clubs such as chelsea is because he is such a good referee. that said, the romero incident shouldve been red. also the first spurs goal i honestly think stands. as for the goal (im a spurs fan so im going to be a bit biased) i personally believe should stand. richarlison is too far to have any impact and mendy has a clear line of sight to the ball. as for the foul i personally think its a great tackle and bentancur clearly gets the ball. its too far back to rule out tho.

I think football fans at times (not specifically Chelsea fans I must add) struggle to look at games objectively and likewise the incidents within games in isolation so come to the natural conclusion that there's an agenda in play due to some sort of history with a given referee.
However that's not to say that all referee's are unbiased and honest in each game but I genuinely didn't see anything in this game that suggested Taylor was playing up and favouring Spurs over Chelsea. Should Tuchel be saying and stating the obvious? Of course he should, it’s not first time that Anthony Taylor and probably some other officials have done us wrong. As Tuchel stated it’s clear that every Chelsea fan, Tuchel himself and even the players know something is wrong regards to his decisions and other officials as a matter of fact which shows how bad the situation is. The problem really isn’t just with yesterday’s decision, it’s that things like this happen often and NOT JUST TO CHELSEA let me be clear. I’ve seen videos of him making awful decisions in other games too.

Just so I get this straight, if pulling the hair of another player is not violent conduct, I can just pull the hair of any opposition player whenever I want if the referee isn’t looking at me? According to the rules pulling hair is not a red card offense so VAR cannot do anything about it and neither can they recommend the referee to give a foul or yellow card since that’s not their domain. Every player should now sneakingly pull opposition players’ hair when the referee is looking somewhere else.
    Ridiculous.

Even if Richarlison was not directly in the line of Mendy’s sight he is still very close to the ball as it comes in and Mendy has to anticipate that he could kick the ball and change the direction of the shot therefore has to delay his dive which means that Richarlison is interfering with play so it is 100% an offside goal and shouldn’t have stood.

This morning, sky sports showed Mendy’s position to look at the ball. He had to lean to the left to be able to see the ball, reason it took to much time to lean to the right to make the stop and Richarlison moved to then right to hide the ball as it was going towards goal. Now tell me he wasn’t implied in the play and wasn’t offside. Check the goal from all angles before you make a decision.

Definite media bias against Chelsea before the game. Pundits were rating Conte as the Spurs Oracle and disrespecting Tuchel.
I don't agree that Chelsea need a new striker. A non mobile striker who rarely touches the ball does not suit the way Chelsea play, it was obvious from last season. We remember the media outcry and Tuchel dropping Lukaku after his 7 touches v Palace. Haaland's 8 touches virtually escapes analysis. It looked like Havertz was playing from the right while it was Sterling who was playing the false nine. Give Sterling time to adjust. Havertz had a bad miss but so did Kane. Media darling Haaland missed a bigger sitter in the Charity shield, it happens. Almost every pundit was writing off Chelsea as the lesser team before the game and now look foolish. Chelsea totally outplayed Spurs in every department. If they can keep this level of performance then they should fear no one. Proud!

Therefore he DOES have an impact from an offside position. That is as simple as it gets. Also it is clear some officials have an agenda against Chelsea, and it's more than likely some at the FA are complicit in this as they keep selecting this Referee to give unfair rulings against Chelsea.

I am not deriding our club when I say the teams I mentioned are better , it’s simply my opinion . I still think Spurs will have a good season , how can we not with the emotional , passionate and determined Conte in charge ❓. COYS 💙🫶🏻

What will it take to improve the standards of officiating ? because it can't continue like it is even after all the mistakes season after season there's too much riding on EPL games yeah I know they're only human so can someone please tell exactly what is V.A.R for because it seems to me it only works for certain teams my point is there's way too many inconsistencies.

If they don’t believe there is a ‘vendetta’ against certain clubs ie Anthony Taylor and Mike dean against Chelsea, then those who say that, aren’t looking at the argument and not paying attention because it doesn’t effect their club. Until it does then they might wake up.
