But Souness stated facts, which Jordan tried to make Souness seem like a hypocrite. But Souness said he didn’t know anything about Turkish football, and then couldn’t work with an ego centric chairman (just like Jordan, 10 managers in 10 years or something) at Southampton and got offered a job in Italy, where he had played. Soon as Souness pushed back, Jordan became petty and accused Souness of making it about himself....you know you’ve won when the red herring answers come back to you 😊. Good double act these two

And that's the context that Souness at the very least, should have paid attention to.
If a guy starts at the bottom then gets poached by clubs from higher up the chain, it shows not only is he good but he does actually have longevity because he is only leaving to challenge himself more and more.
If his record was job to job in and around the same leagues like plenty of ex Premier League managers, then Souness would have a valid point.
The guys CV says he is no more of a risk than any other manager, in fact, I'd say, how CV makes him more attractive because the same failed managers keep getting job after job despite being failures.

Trust Simon to pick the extreme to win an argument.
Souness managed for 20 years and that small 5 year period was a blip in the middle of his 20 year management career.
De Zarbi does look like a good manager but his entire Managemet career to date is as Souness said, 1 season, another season elsewhere and so on. If he turns out good hopefully he stays for longer at Brighton.

@@jacksonbow2766 De Zerbi has mostly left jobs to take up a better opportunity. Who doesn't do that in all walks of life not just football management? Souness was handed jobs at big clubs because he was a decent player unlike De Zerbi who has had to build up his reputation. Obviously he isn't going to stay at tiny clubs for 5 years if he actually wants to achieve anything.

@@Unknown-ol2uh De Zerbis 3rd job was in Serie A with Palermo I believe, then he went down to Benevento (not sure I spelt that right), then sideways to Sassualo (again not sure I spelt that right)
Not sure why it is relevant though.
The key part is whether Brighton fans are happy knowing that in 6 months, maybe 12 months he will be gone. Basically, are they happy being a stepping stone, if so then it doesn't matter what you and me think unless you are a Brighton fan lol.
As for achieving anything, he also won't be acheiving anything by staying only a season at clubs, no one can 'build' anything in just 1 or 2 seasons, let alone be credited for having an impact.
I see people saying he left Shaktar because of the war with Russia, yet the Ukrainian league has been back up and running for a number of weeks now, playing in Poland I believe and De Zarbi has been out of work the whole time.
I just wouldn't want him or anyone like him near my club, how can anyone feel settled with someone like that in charge. Just my opinion and my opinion doesn't count because I am not a Brighton fan. Only there's count.

Italians are really disappointed with these embarrassing and unfair statements by Souness. I remember perfectly when he came to Italy, he was paid handsomely, no one insulted him or took the liberty of questioning him. Why is Souness now doing the phenomenon and treating De Zerbi like this? Luckily De Zerbi symbolically slapped him, showing that he is an excellent coach. Were Souness a decent person, a gentleman, he would apologize for these foolish, biased, spiteful statements against a foreign professional. It's not the foreigners' fault that English managers are bad, and have never won a Premier League.

The main facts and evidence to draw on are that De Zerbi did a really good job at Sassuolo for 3-4 years, moved on to Shakhtar for Champions League football and ended up a in a war torn country. So he moved over to the Premier League. Would Souness have stayed on in Ukraine in the middle of a warzone with all of the Brazilian players he'd inherited now gone, just to prove his longevity as a manager?
