Today I tried out a reverse coloring book! I've never seen anything like this before but I was shocked at how fun it was! You basically draw the lines yourself, it's very creative and a unique spin on traditional coloring books and pages. This reverse coloring book totally sold out last I checked but it is still available to buy for a later ship date! This is one of amazons best selling books ever (in the top 600 books right now) and is so unique.

Hi
@@gregoryalders3276 hate
I found out that lefty coloring books have the print on the left side page instead of the right. As a fellow lefty, I might try that out! I like adult coloring books (I tend to use watercolor brush markers and put a blotting page behind the work just in case), and I find myself turning them upside down with the 'righty' books.
@@victoriaeads6126 xd same 💀😅
❤ 👍✨
I think this concept could become the basis of a really fun art collaboration with friends. Get someone to paint or color a page, then swap and add lines to complete the work.
It's so cool to see how different your first page turned out from mine! I love the variation of line thickness as well as how flowy you are with the pen strokes.
I saw an iguana with its nose pointing up in place of where your adorable goldfish was drawn. The Simpson's character haha I'm glad you tried this!!
‼️
I loved your channel when I was a nine year old kid.
I saw a pile of orange kittens.....
For the goldfish page I instantly saw 2 different scenes simultaneously, one of them was basically what you ended up drawing. The other scene was a cluster of volcanoes erupting where the blue was the sky, red/orange/yellow was lava, brown was the volcano/mountain, green was a jungle in the foreground, and pink was either fires or buildings (hadn't figured out pink entirely yet after only seeing it for like 3 seconds).
I saw a volcano as well!!! Had to come see if I was the only one 😂
I saw volcanos also! As well as a field of sunflowers!
I agree on the vulcano!
And the pink look like Flying birds to me
Same! And the pink looked like plants to me
Nobody says that any of them is "right side up"....
For my final year in college I had several works of art where I basically took rubbings of concrete and traced around the dark spots on the paper with black ink. They looked like black and white maps. Super fun!
I've gone through old cemeteries and done tombstone rubbings. We used crayon instead of charcoal though because it's less messy
I could see this being a really good exercise with people who wanted to practice fine motor skills and line confidence! I know I have pretty wobbly lines when I draw because my hands shake and I always use digital stabiliser, this is an amazing idea, absolute respect to Kendra for making this!
For me, those orange things on the page made me think of flames in the sky. The kind of flames a dragon might create. Anyone with me on this idea? Love your channel Chloe, I realised that I missed this video when you posted it. So now I am binge watching the two videos I missed! Yay! Seriously tho Chloe, I missed seeing your video a few days ago when it came out. Don't know how that happened? I might get myself a book like that. It looks more interesting than simple colouring in books which I find really boring. I love both the pictures you did. They came out really well. God bless you and all those you love Chloe.
The second page looked like flowers in front of a tomb stone 😅
I was definitely a sceptic about this but it actually looks really fun... I rarely do art but I might have to buy it anyway 😂
I'd love to see a part 2 and 3 and 4 where you do more - particularly the more abstract ones! Your goldfish looked really good ☺️
You are so talented...they looked like blobs to me but you brought them to life. I actually bought one of your Starry Night bear prints a while back and had it hanging on the wall by my desk at work. I have since changed jobs but my bear came along with me and is now on a different wall. I always got so many compliments on that bear and made sure to tell them about your channel.
That’s so lovely!! Thank you so much for your kind words and support!
This is very intriguing. I am a person whose talents are mainly musical. I’ve always wanted to be better in art but from an early age though all my attempts were so bad that I just started saying as a teen- I can’t draw a circle- and gave up. Fast forward nearly 50 years and I had a very vague but determined 2023 resolution-explore and use your creativity. I have started with watercolors and am trying to just enjoy the process, not to be judgy. This looks like a really different approach- I would really like to see you do more in this Reverse coloring book. Thank you for sharing!
By the way I love your videos because I have CFS and when I'm doing exercises or stretching I listen to your videos and it helps so much and you got me into drawing and art and doing art help take my mind off things so thank you so much for making content ❤️
I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with that! It makes me glad to hear that it helps to take your mind off of things. Thank you for such a lovely comment! ✨take care 💕
Thank you for making this content hope you have a wonderful week ❤️
I have this book! The more abstract pink and orange one you showed at 1:40 I personally did as lines of like, goldfish, amd the first page I sort of made it into a big cat hiding in the flowers and weeds (that teal triangle blotch pointing down made me think of cat noses) but like, kinda made of the flowers and weeds too, kinda like a kelpie except feline. It was fun!
What I loved about the video :
How creative you are
How cool the book is
How relaxing it was
This looks so relaxing and fun! It really makes me want to try it. That pen...if you could show a freeze frame of it, or if you know where to get one, I'm obsessed already!
I love the Chubby princess facing the teddy bear giving it a smooch. She's got long curly hair and a bubble seaweed crown. :-)
This is so exciting!!! This is my friends coloring book! I have a signed copy of it and it's so fun!
Okay I love this because there's not just one answer. With a normal coloring book, besides color differences, yours will basically look like everyone else's. With this ones, every one can be different and unique.
When it comes to how I do my line art I find that it’s very hard for me as a beginner to control pens with flexible or brush nibs so I just use various tip thicknesses and then I’ll also go back and thicken up some lines or just make it look sketchy and intentional
This is genius, it's much more up my alley than colouring books, I've always enjoyed drawing lines than colouring 😍
Sarah's video popped up in my feed last week and I loved it! I thought it was so cool I promptly went to find reverse coloring books on Amazon. My bestie is a fan of zentangling and I knew this was a perfect surprise to send. Ordered it Friday, it was delivered Saturday and was an instant hit. Loved seeing your take on this! I agree with you - new trend!
This inspired me to get my watercolors out again and do this for myself. And I added your fav pen to my Amazon cart!
Why did I think that this would be just erasing everything when I hear the reverse coloring book
On the goldfish page I saw dragons flying around, also this video was so cool! ❤❤
This is so cool. I tend to do this on alot of things (notes, hand outs etc.) when I'm anxious or trying to pay attention
12:30 I see an underwater orchestra, mainly filled with Octopus and dolphins. After taking more time to look at it I started seeing some sort dance circle comprised of dinosaurs. Like they were having a tribal ceremony... idk :P
@ 1:42 the Magenta/Orange page. As soon as I saw it I thought about the cartoon Disenchantment. Specifically, the door in the room that the creepy picture of "high priestess Bean" was/disapeared from. Building off that design would really lend itself to that picture.
Ok back to the video. . .
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS! Like you, I sometimes struggle with creative block and I have tried all kinds of ways to deal with it. I am definitely going to try this. It seems like a serious block breaker, as well as a nice warm-up to day of creating. Can’t wait to order one.
Left-Handed coloring books are books that open on the left side of the book or from the bottom.
I sometimes do something like this in my sketchbook and it’s so much fun! I will just do blobs of watercolour and then draw over it with pen
I don't know if you ever got an answer for it but that pen is a "sign pen". The writing on it (if its the one I think it is) is:
筆文字が手軽に書けるサインペン
Fudemoji ga tegaru ni kakeru sain pen
"Sign pen that can write brush characters with ease!"
宛名書き用サインペン
Atenagakiyou sain pen
"Sign pen for addressing"
筆サイン
Fude sain
"Sign brush"
極細
Gokuboso
"Extra fine"
I've seen this a lot on twitter recently and honestly, I think it's the first of its kind! Love how you did yours and would love to see you do more pages!!
12:33 coral reeef with goldfish!
The fish page had be rolling. I saw Fish and Fox as well. But you talking about your fish got me. Sounds like they were being overfed, but the inspo was top tier
on that page i see lots of gold fish
and i do agree i saw a dog on the first page u did
I love your nails Chloe. You should complete this entire coloring book because I enjoy watching you test out new products like this.
So Ima be honest, the page you asked us about, i had the same thought. Some Goldfish or Koi in a small pond but with an underwater view. It's so cool ^-^
What would be cool is taking a bunch of fan submissions of pictures they did for this book in their ways and ideas to draw on it and make a collage video on it or something. It'd be so cool to see everyone's different ideas for the same thing since there's no real limit to this since we're making the lines.
There are so many reverse coloring books people animals flowers ect very fun and creative!!
The duck with the beehive is also my favorite 😂❤👍
I like to do psychadelic type coloring where it'll look like the whole page is the dyed or even color parts just random insane colors. So this would be right up my alley. I wouldn't draw the appropriate outlines I would maybe draw a teddy bear or something over what is clearly a picture of flowers. Stuff like that.
Hey, Chloe. I am part of an art group and we actually did the exercise where we put in blobs of color then outlined what we saw. Very fun! I need this coloring book though.
This looks really interesting to try! As a lover of colouringbooks (Something I used to do all the time as a child, I guess I never grew out of it 😅😅) I would like to give this a go. I really like how both pages turned out and I also saw goldfish for the 2nd page you did 😆
who else wants Moriah to try this? Btw u did an amazing job❤️✨
I love how your pages came out. I liked the goldfish one the best. It intriged me so much I bought a similar one. I can't draw with my right hand at the moment (I had a stroke, so my arm and hand are useless) and I really can't draw with my left hand so I thought it would be great stroke therapy. Practicing drawing with my left hand. I've been drawing since I was five and I miss creating images from my imagination. Besides it looks fun and relaxing.
Yes, please complete the whole book.
12:37 What I see is a sunset overlooking either a coral reef peeking out of the ocean or a flower covered beach
I love the lining process I want thissss
I saw Goldfish on that page you did, too. First thing that came to my mind 😊
This could be so cool to use in mixed media projects and collages. ❤
In other news, "I don't know flowers, I just kill them!" 🤣😂 Me too, sister!
I would love to see you who think the whole book perhaps several of us will be able to get a copy and follow along. I think it would be very interesting to see how many variations one particular page could look like. Thanks for adding smiles to my day. Blessings.
I love making these with watercolor and then using pens to outline these. Maybe I should make my own reverse coloring book
this is so cool! i found it on amazon and bought it right away! i’m super excited :D
I have been obsessed with Reverse coloring books for the last few months!!
@hit-me-up-officialChloeRoseArt really
Goldfish and a coral reef!
You’re fish looked better than I pictured in my mind though😅
this book is a really cool idea 😍 I love how you saw the fishes in those colours, I feel like my imagination wouldn’t be great for this 😂
I do what I call blob art. When I hit creative road block. Just take some markers and draw some blobs all over the page and make things out of the random shapes. Just let them be as they are. It really helps to break from being a perfectionist by creating something loose and carefree. Love it. Wish I could attach a pic.
And I'm absolutely getting one of these coloring books because my favorite part of the art process is the line work. Love it.
Also it's not weird at all to have a favorite liner. I absolutely do. Zebra btw for any new artists out there is a really good cheap art brand. Highly recommend their markers and fine liners.
I would love to see you complete this!!! It gets challenging. Got to be 1 of the best series you do.
I absolutely love the way you talk!!! ❤️ such a cool book!!!
I love this idea your flower doodles remind me of Dr Seuss drawings
My friend got me the reverse coloring book for Christmas. It is fun.
i thought of doing something like this at 3 in the morning, when the best ideas come.
15:22 You were overfeeding the fish, and that's why they pooped all the time.
This did happen to me as well in my first tank, now that I am a bit more experienced in fishkeeping and drop much less food into my tank, there are no poopstrings to be seen!
Not just this but long stringy poop can mean they have a parasite or poor diet. I hope they were just being overfed though and weren't suffering too much 🥺
Wow your hair is absolutely GLORIOUS! Great video, can't wait to see what else you have on your channel. Subscribed! ♥
You should get one of your art friends to draw blobs and then you switch with them your blobs then you guys can fine line each other’s pieces.
2:50 Omg I use those pens too, but I use the double ended brush pen. :)
YO!!!! This is .... What! ... I want it!
WAIITTTTTT LEFT handed coloring book??????? Chlo... Thank you
I will probably now buy one of these books as it will save me doing watercolour washes before sketching.
Plz make a whole series out of this
omg i love to doodle while i'm on the phone so this would be absolutely perfect for me
The beehive also looks like a rose!!! It’s perfect!
On that one page I saw flowers right away but thought birds might be a nice twist!
Look up a lupine (flower) it is a purple/blue flower that is a stem of ball shaped flowers. Plus grapes.
On that page I see goldfishes swimming over a flower garden but not underwater as I also see mountains:D
Thanks for this eye opening coloring book tour. Your pics were lovely.
“Well I see gold fish what do you see?”
me: umm corgis raining out of the sky onto dinosaurs-
Very nice. Fun video.
Yes i sah golfish on the page as well.
I probably would not know what to do with some of the pages. Most of them might be underwater scenes
If you want a challenge element with the blotches of color, you could have your boyfriend throw together a bunch of random colors and shapes and then turn his art into art of your own :)
A whole book please!
I got that book a while ago and I love it I try to be as creative as I can like making small animal heads
Initially didn't think I was going to like this, but I watched you do it &... well, who among us hasn't turned a stray blob of pigment into a figment? Makes perfect sense! As someone who generally finds coloring books dumb, I really appreciated this as it reminds me of creativity exercises from art classes taken long ago. Maybe I appreciate the opportunity to apply my creativity & ability in drawing as it comes to me more readily than trying to "color in" an existing outline? Dunno, but I give this a thumbs up! Found it inspirational, because we can all see something different in these if we really want to! I also saw fish; maybe not your exact fish... but that's the challenge; right? To see what everyone comes up with in their own style given a vague guideline?
the glodie fish are so cute
Yeah, I saw Sarah’s video… it looks like a really neat book. 😊👍🏻
You did a great job on both pages. 💐 I saw fish, too. 🐟
thats a great idea for a book, can create any shape you see😀
Coming back to this video after the Moriah Elizabeth shout out today - I’m LOLing because I watched 1:51 of this when you posted it but I clearly bounced and bought the book and forgot what I was doing -and never came back 😂 better late than never I guess
Yes! Would love to see you complete the book!
Looks like a bouquet from wonderland!
This idea is amazing I get so bored from colouring but I like drawing and you did it so well
I’d love to try this, it’s a great idea!
this is the coolest coloring book ever!
12:36 I see a bunch of goldfish swimming around in a pond :)
This concept would be great app idea to draw on a tablet with a pen. This way you can erase and do multiple things on the same page
Hi Chloe!
Question: have you made a part 2 following this book? I thought in that one you made a pretty starfish but I looked on your channel and I couldn't find it.
Always love your videos Chloe! You asked what we thought the second page you were going to do looked like to is and I think it looks like a volcano erupting
I love this! Being left handed, I'm interested an learning about the lefthanded coloring book?
12:34 goldfish😅 edit: OMG YAY!😂
12:30 I see an underwater scene with fancy goldfish. Now to find out what YOU see....😁
Lol, great minds 💖
I saw several gold fish and some coral, maybe rock. My brain also took a Pokémon route with Corsala and Goldeen.
Would love to see you finish this book. That would be an awesome video. ❤
Love this concept!
I dont usually like goldfish but those are so s seriously cute goldfish.
Love your art you inspire me😊
