Again, we respect everyone's right to free speech and expression, but please refrain from vandalizing the Comments section with "wanna see a problem with the comments section." We get it, not everyone will like the new comments section but by and large, it actually has a lot of improvements, and mainly: the majority of our audience want to comment on the video here, and not be disturbed by the spam.
Again, those kinds of comments don't harm UA-cam, they harm WatchMojo and make us have less time to create new videos as we need to spend time cleaning the comments section. We don't to block anyone, but will if it goes on as a courtesy to our viewers and respect for those who are here to enjoy the clips and comment on them. We respect you, all we ask is respect back!
stop kissing youtube's ass
Chris Lowe there not. it is a fair point because alot of people do so they are asking that they don't
You should do top 10 gay/lesbian celebrities
Chris Lowe You should sit in on our conversations or listen in to our calls and then tell us if you still think we suck up to them ;) - that said, when a viewer comes on our channel and spams the comments section, that has less to do with Google and more to do with us, so I like to think we can explain to our otherwise smart and loyal viewers why it hurts us, not Google.
Google doesn't care if X% of the users don't like the new comments section. Think about it, our videos may get 100,000 views in Day 1 and 1,000,000 by end of the first month and maybe there are 5,000-10,000 comments by then; the majority of UA-cam's viewers don't even comment. So if anything, we are SUCKING UP TO THE USERS THAT DON'T WANT TO PUT UP THE SPAM, and not Google.

Both Jimi and Kurt are from Seattle, both played guitar left handed, both were in Trio band and both died at age 27
Kurt was from Aberdeen
Both loved drugs
Both was men

Zoso' I did
Zoso' he got a guitar on his 14th birthday. He couldn’t have started at 13. You are a poser

I only knew kurt, Jimmy and janis
Kolby Taylor didn’t you know Amy Winehouse either
@@lfcforever1482 no only those 3 but ive heard of Amy whinehouse
Still BS that these idiots ranked Kurt as number 2. talk about a huge slap in the face.
Loner Phoenix Robert Johnson should have been 1
okay i was gonna complain about only giving winehouse the number seven spot but then i realized how wierd it was that we're rating peoples deaths in the first place
You did make the comment, LiarCloud
ikr
Yeah, I don't think it's a competition so to speak. Like, who had the most spectacularly tragic and lonely death at the tender age of 27. Life is hard for everyone. Some people don't make it.
Trevor Hazen I'm not complaining but why isn't 2pac on the list?
Mr Rogers Because he was 25, not 27....Top 10 musicians who died age 27? Ring any bells. It's all in the title my friend. Maybe they could do a top ten musicians who died age 25? Hey Tupac could be on it!

JIm Morrison n Brian Jones my favorite
even though Jim Morrison died nearly 50 years ago, it still makes me sad to think about the fact that he died so young. I've read and watched interviews where he discussed the future of music and it makes me really sad that he never got to see it :(
His grave in Paris is sad too...eerie and sad.
Jim was known to take drugs orally, not injected,Grace Slick once stated
Well u shouldnt be sad probably if he would witness the mumble rap nowdays he problably would ve done a mass shooting ,or just ended his life 😆😆😆
50th anniversary of his death was this month

Julian Valenzuela I agree plus if people got into it brian jones is the most mysterious because when he died he died right as his girlfriend left him alone in his pool and then minutes later she returned to find him face down and floating. It’s really sad but brian inspired me to become a musician.
Rip anyone who has ever died
Kaiser not anyone
Yknow 27 is a bad age when there's a top 10 dead at 27 list
When my cousin turned 27 she was so happy bc it was 3 to the 3rd power. I'm scared outa my mind to turn 27
Lucy Cunningham it’s evil and satanic
Although I'm Christian,it is hard to get numerology out of your system when you remember 27 is 2+7=9. 9 is a finite single number. 8 is Infinite..

Y’all have to rem these are artist who are always on the money sadden from fame and taking drugs due to being tired and etc
KURTS NOT DEAD IN THE HISTORY OF MUSIC AND HE IS NOT DEAD IN MY EARS
hes fucking dead mate

KURT RULES!!!
Nick_Master_1246 true. He never is. He's still got his teen spirit
Agree 100% with that and sorry if you weren't a LP fan but Chester Bennington was a one of a kind himself. Wish all that talent could have filled a recording studio just once. Imagine what would have come out of that bunch. And way more then 10 and Chester mentioned. All the talent that was taken too soon. All genre's!
Amy was one of a kind. Her voice and style is unheard of.
Dude, Jim Morrison Is The Lizard King, Were Is His Love. The Guy Was The Most Brilliant Writer Ever And People Just Forget About It. RIP James Douglas Morrison

Who forgot him? seriously, pay attention man.
Half of them look like they were in their 40s or 50s, holy crap.

who are you exactly talking about?:)
Maybe the reason they die too young is because they have past through too many things
The older generation always looked more mature compared to this younger generation.

^^ I agree
You're so dumb, they arent talking about how much they hate them
+Venomous Watermelon no one said they were fuckwit
***** But they're still talking about how important they were,I just think people are too sensitive
+Venomous Watermelon If there was a list of most loved people on earth, you would be in last place in the list.
I love Kurt Cobain and nirvana are one of my favourite bands but even I could admit that Jimi Hendrix deserved to be at number one and Kurt to be at number 2...yes, Kurt Cobain was an incredible musician, but he was not the best! Just because that's my opinion, doesn't mean I'm not a huge fan of his (because I am) the butt hurt nirvana fans need to realise that because they're a huge fan of nirvana, doesn't mean they have to think that Kurt Cobain should be #1
Incredible musician how? He was very talented vocally but guitar wise was very very basic.
Jared Simpkins you don't have to play an instrument to be a musician
+Jared Simpkins you do know he played the guitar upside down that's how good he was they didn't make lefty guitars then so he played it upside down
Harrington Da silva Cobain played Left handed Fender Jags. Mostly with just 4 chords. He threw them together pretty well though. He had a RH Martin and others, but strung and saddled them left. It's not like he actually played the strings upside down. Hendrix played Strats upside down but also strung left. They did have LH guitars back then. Hendrix just chose to be different.
Have you guys noticed that both Jimi and Kurt played left handed
I don’t like how nobody is talking about Amy Winehouse, she was my FAVORITE singer, she had the most perfect voice to me
EXACTLY :(
She really is the best singer🥺❤️
Kurt is 53 years old today, he always blew us away, No pun intended, Dave’s powerhouse drums, Pat’s guitar techniques, Krist’s dirty overshadowed bass and Kurt’s elegant yet moans will forever echo in our hearts. RIP KURT 20.02.1967 - 5.4.1994. ❤️

A WARNING TO ALL THOSE BRAVE OR STUPID ENOUGH TO VISIT THE COMMENT SECTION: Whenever you see somebody post a link, do not click it. However, it is human nature that our curiosity often overwhelms our instincts, so here's some steps to take in case you absolutely must know what the link leads to.
1) Turn your speakers/headphones off. Shit's most likely going to get loud, inappropriate, or both.
2) DO NOT just click the link. Right click it and hit "Open Link in New Tab." This will give you a chance to read the page title and see if your still curious.

In the lovely memory of Jim Morrison
Amazing that none of Axl, Slash, Duff, Adler, or Izzy ended up on one of these lists. Adler had a stroke from a drug overdose and Slash was found in a hotel room with a stopped heart, but somehow all 5 are around today
Niko Yochum how old was Nikki Sixx when he originally died?
Cause they gods
It was just not their turn ,it will happen to us all sooner or later
I think anyone involved in Guns N’ Roses is ok to die
Same with Ozzy
I know I'll probably get blasted for this, but Amy Winehouse was such a wasted talent. She really could sing, and early in her career was a promising, attractive young woman with a lot to give. It was really horrible to see her slowly get thinner and sicker-looking over the years and not really a surprise to hear she died. Such a shame.
I completely agree, she was a good songwriter too and it's hard to find singers who don't get others to write their music these days.
***** wait that boyband? One of them are Amy Winehouse's son? Im so confused that wouldn't even make sense
Chillin Narnia Oh boy... Not sure if being sarcastic...
Im not im so curious
No, my picture is the logo of a band called the Offspring, a punk band that has nothing to do with Amy Winehouse
Aw, Amy Winehouse. What an amazing artist, RIP.
@Christopher Bingham Can you really judge another person don't you have flaws ? Better to say nothing if you don't have nothing nice to say 😉
@Christopher Bingham you are looking to be negative so I guess your life is a bit shitty or you got beaten up by your old lady but even with that being said you don't actually know the girl or anyone she knows to comfier so grow up if you are indeed 30 hahaha 😂
Christopher Bingham
“He who is without sin, cast the first stone!”
When was she?? Violent?? Amy Winehouse was only “violent” because everyone pushed her farther and farther over the edge, and the media treated her even worse. She was angry, and needed help, but no one was there.
@Christopher Bingham watch her documentary or read stuff about her life then you know that she was an amazing, inteligent, funny old soul with a huge talent who just wanted to be understand.
My top 3 would've been:
1. Jimi Hendrix
2. Jim Morrison
3. Janis Joplin
Luis Enrique Castillo Jiménez for me (based on my musical preferences) 1. Kurt Cobain, 2. Amy Winehouse, 3. Jimi Hendrix.

Amy Winehouse's thick cat eyeliner and beehive hair are more iconic than most singers today. 💀
And she will be remembered as iconic.
Jim wasn’t a psychedelic rocker. He was a poet and always wanted to be seen as a poet.
Jimi Hendrix.. "death: 1970" few seconds later " live at Woodstock 1999" ?
I see you caught that also. He was at Woodstock 1969 though.
I think it was released in 1999

um no let's see i grew up watch Nirvana on mtv unplugged and there albums on radio. And have seen Morison and Hendrix live on youtube and tv. Besides every great artist that somebody likes or loves are dead so your point? and if you did not like any of these artist you would not be on here replying to my comment go troll somewhere else.
***** he meant he loves that they were in the top of all the 10 artists, like they were the most "important"/influential or whatever, not the fact that they are dead... Oh and it's Kurt CobAin -_- funny how you bitch about this guy having "no knowledge about rock" when you can't even spell KC's name
you sound dumb i'm the biggest Nirvana fan you will meet. Kurt Cobain is a legend in rock music. seriously kid go troll somewhere else don't insult my rock music smarts because you sound dumb doing it really.
***** Jimi Hendrix was better than Kurt Cobain. Kurt would have said Jimi was better than him. Also, you have no Rock smarts at all if you are saying Kurt was better than Jimi. Don't believe me?
"At age 14, Cobain announced to a schoolmate that he would be a superstar musician, get rich and famous, kill himself and go out in a blaze of glory like Jimi Hendrix. Neither boy realized Hendrix’s death wasn't suicide."
If anything, you are the dumb one. Especially since you don't know Jimi enough to say Kurt was better than him.

Thank you for including Pete Ham in this list. He was an amazing talent & Badfinger is often overlooked!

Sorry, Jim goes above Kurt.
Way above!!!
008Invisibleman I think even he would agree.
BubbaZen10 Jim Morrison was a poet, a true artist in every sense of that word. Cobain was a wannabe, a con-man whose importance was so overblown some idiots even claim he invented grunge. Lol
+008Invisibleman A con-man of what exactly ?How was he not a poet?Did you ready the lyrics? So silly.Kurt was playing punk rock ,people called it grunge.
Somnivers so silly?? What's silly is that people like you think his incoherent thoughts spat out as lyrics could be elevated to the level of poetry. Kurt Cocain was the male version of Taylor Swift (grosses me out to think of) with better songwriting skills. He had no real skill as a musician to speak of, couldn't sing or play an instrument for shit. If he wasn't blond or white, nobody would give shit about him. The only reason he was more popular is that he shot himself, which made some suicidal angsty prepubescent boys and rockstar wannabes identify themselves with him.

They got #1 correct. Hendrix is the ALL TIME "what if?". What more would he had done if he hadn't died so young? Of course he was an exceptional guitarist but probably an even better song writer and innovator who to this day bewilders thousand of musicians.
You got that right
Agreed Jon well put, but past his musicianship he was a very nice man indeed loved by all who came to know him. On Valentines Day 1968 he and his Women friends rolled 1400 joints and mailed them to people found in a London phone book. It is sad to realize that not 1 of those 1400 people who received a joint in 68 came to his funeral. All time great loss in the 27 Club.
ArcAudios Really? that's absolutely hilarious
Thanks for mentioning Jimi's songwriting. Most people just look upon him as a great guitar player but i also think he was one of the great underrated songwriters. One of the best.Unfortunately i'm not so sure that this is a great list to be number one in.
Danny Dine For real Danny. Jimi could write songs and innovate with the very best of ANYONE. It can't be overstated how much his music in he wrote broke the mold of much of modern music.
I don't think people understand the influence Kurt kobain has made on a lot of topics, but let's start with music, he essentially synthesized and boosted the grunge scene. On top of that he boosted, alternative, and punk, as well. He made a difference also based on his lyrics, and the deeper meaning behind theme, he had an amazing voice that was soothing when you listened to the live versions of hi

R.I.P. Amy Winehouse; an amazing young talent with a very troubled life.
Rip to all these legends who would never ever be forgotten.
They will always be forever young! Love you, Jim and Kurt
I honestly think Courtney love is kinda shady if you think about Kurt Cobains death. He told her he was leaving her, cut her out of his will, and wanted full custody of Frances. His near-death coma in Rome not long after was believed to be a murder attempt, only Courtney claimed it was a suicide attempt. She went as far as to remove him from the hospital he was at to an American hospital against advice by the doctors. Everyone who knew Kurt said he wasn't suicidal, rather optimistic about the future. Only Courtney kept making it sound like he was going crazy. The shotgun shell fell to his right arm, while most detectives believed it should've fallen to his left arm given the angle his head and body were positioned with the shotgun in his arms. The amount of heroin in his system was considered to be too much for him to function well enough to angle a shotgun towards himself and shoot it. Tom Grant, an investigator Courtney hired to find Kurt after he checked out of rehab, even states that Courtney conspired against killing Kurt. The suicide note didn't sound very suicidal. Only the final paragraph had some inkling to suicide, no direct reference of it. Most of it read more like a departure from the music industry and impending divorce from Courtney. El Duce was an acquaintance of Kurt and Courtney who said that Courtney offered him 50k to shoot Kurt. Three days later, he was found dead on a railroad track supposedly suicide after drinking. Sounds awfully suspicious.
+Alex Henson we all know man. it's ok lol. she'll be arrested soon enough and should be charged with murder of not only Kurt but even for all the kids who took their lives because of his death
Nik Blackburn na she won't get arrested because they will just say if she didn't kill him he would of died of drugs anyway the cops don't care how famious you are they don't want to wait there time investigating a story on a guy who was a drugie is a shame
10. Amy Winehouse (solo)
9. Pete Ham (Badfinger)
8. Ron McKernan (Grateful Dead)
7. Chris Bell (Big Star)
6. Kurt Cobain (Nirvana)
5. Janis Joplin (solo, Full Tilt Boogie Band, Big Brother Holding Company, etc)
4. Brian Jones (The Rolling Stones)
3. Robert Johnson (solo)
2. Jim Morrison (The Doors)
1. Jimi Hendrix (The Jimi Hendrix Experience and solo)
Amy winehouse was a much better vocalist musician than Janis Joplin. while I do love both, and pretty much everyone on the list, Amy voice and technical use of it was superb. very underrated .
You don't know how important lyrics are...kurt is absolutely no.1 lose to us... The generation X... Even if sir jimi or sir Morrison lived more 10 years they just have given us classic songs... But what dipreson is called and what mindset is that can only given by Kurt cobain...by just 3 albums he fucked all artists in this list... You all are just watching classical legendary... Not impact... Impact to generation.... So fuck your list...
Gabe Martinez but she was less impactful than janis.
jimi is number 1 every where (greatest guitarist ever lived RIP)
@Keith Clark what?
@Keith Clark wtf are u talking about
@haul shine 409 barnett who ?
@haul shine 409 barnett yes Steve ray, Robert Johnson,Slash agree with this too but there will always be the one.
They all were Goon Too Soon. R.I.P. all of you🙏🏽🕊 thank you for sharing this video 🙏🏽 we lost a lot of beautiful artists so sad 😞
Today is the 20th anniversary of the death of Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain.
rest in peace amy
First rule of any list:
Jimi Hendrix is always #1
I think everyone's forgetting the fact that this is a very sad list, the fact that some of these people, still adored by millions are life stories were just as sad as the consiquences in which they died in. we lose people like them but still keep people like bush, nixon, stalin etc to ripe old ages.
utubedestroysmytime I'm sorry man but that last comment made me laugh xD yeah no you misread me, I'm not talking about killing other people I was saying how geniuses die so young but tirants who are the cause for unessesary wars live so much longer, seems very unfair.
utubedestroysmytime apart from the one who died in a car crash...
Whoa cowboy, that is a big jump from Bush, Nixon, to Stalin. On one hand two democraticaly elected leaders, on the other hand a communist dictator. C'mon man!
I wonder if Kurt was alive if he would still be as popular, his death made him a legend forever, but if he hadn't I wonder if he would still be making music
+ViperFoe If he could be alive, he would be alive. Nothing more to say...
+ViperFoe Well, he'd be 48 now so that's hard to say. Probably not doing the grunge rock thing anymore if he were here.
he was planning on divorcing his wife and quitting music and the he just happened to "commit suicide"
+Captain Super Shart yeah funny that.
+Captain Super Shart Yep. and his wife saved him from overdosing more than 2 times all in less than 2 months before his death.
1.) Jim Morrison
2.) Jimi
3.) Kurt cobain
4.) Janis
I had one of my darkest moments a few months before age 27. I feel like psychologist need to look up the moment when one is 26 and 27 years of age. I feel like there is a commonality between behavior that could be studied and see what is triggering it.
Jimi Hendrix is the one I miss most. Just imagine he got his first guitar at the age of 15, first electric instrument at 16, and almost everything we hear from him was squeezed into his career of some five years. I think he would have given the music world an incredible lot more if he had lived on.
i liked his work a lot. but for me, he was already before i heard of him. but Amy i still want to refuse to believe is really dead.
Kurt kobain was the biggest talent of them all .. nirvana to this day is HUGE
Kurt kobain was the biggest talent of them all .. nirvana to this day is HUGE
Kurt kobain was the biggest talent of them all .. nirvana to this day is HUGE
This list makes me feel so sad :(
Nice name
Amy Winehouse was too young to die 🥺 she was so talented and gifted! She should have got help sooner. RIP Amy we love you ❤️
Blues man Robert Johnson died at 27. Put him in there. He did alot for blues and rock music. We can still here him in today's music
5:25
How long until Justin Beiber turns 27? And for that matter Miley Cyrus and Soulja Boy.
Waiting for Justin Bieber :) Hope Taylor Swift would die this year :)
+Chương Nguyễn Taylor isn't on drugs yet...
2021
Damn, what yall gotta wish death for lol yall evil
Justin biebers not good enough to be part of the 27 club
I was a little pissed that you didn't include Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson from Canned Heat on that list. He too was part of the 27 club.
+jonnytbirdzback EXACTLY!!! I notice every time a news article appears about the 27 Club, Al is consistently left out. He was actually the first of the three fall 1970 deaths (he died Sept 3rd) Thank goodness there is footage of him doing On the Road Again and Going Up the Country.
I always thought he died in between Hendrix and Janis, I may be wrong. Incredible talent. My first thought when I seen this list was of him.
Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse!!!!!!!
Rest In Peace to them all! The Story of Badfinger is heartbreaking. They had some beautiful songs!
Why waste your life at 27 whereas you can join the 100 club. Live life enjoy life. Long live everyone.
I rather die young than old
Kraneveh Kran i'd rather die when i'm not capable to take care of myself anymore than live like a demented plant untill i'm 100.
Kraneveh Kran Uh-huh. At 100 when you're basically a root vegetable that shits itself. That's a pleasure I'm not after.
"its better to burn out than to fade away" yes, if your life is great you should live long, but i guess you dont know what they felt so you cant judge them!
Dmitry Fedoseev
There's apparently still some decent years before you turn 100 actually.
Jimi has to be number one if there was no Jimi Hendrix there be no Kurt Cobain
+igotlobsterhands If there was no Robert Johnson there'd be no any of them.
+igotlobsterhands plz explain how you came to this conclusion?
+igotlobsterhands there would have not been Kurt Cobain, if at least the Sex Pistols, the Pixies, The MElvins, Mudhoney and the beatles never existed
Isn't both jimi and Kurt from Seattle ?
+Matt Ambachew Yes, they both are from Seattle and both defined music.
Kurt is alive in our heart
Bradley Nowell missed this list by less than 3 months. RIP Bradley, You're music will live on forever.
i love hendrix, but kurt deserves the number 1 spot, not only for how he changed the entire music industry and shifted the worlds thinking, but for who he was as a person...
Agree. That man was a legend.
*****
he influenced people to break down masculine and feminine stereotypes, and spoke about tolerance of homosexuality and he also spoke firmly against racism. he showed it was okay to show sensitivity (unlike today when most people have the depth of a teaspoon) what he did took a lot of courage in a time when the worlds mentality was the complete opposite.
he was also firmly against violence against women. just a great guy.
kurt is the reason the 90s were so awesome. at least in the states. it was good times because he opened peoples eyes and paved a way in the music industry to be open to people who speaking about similar issues including religious oppression, hence nine inch nails and tori amos.
*****
no he wasnt an ambassador, but when he did talk about things people listened, because he was so damn real about it and not pretentious.
I also admire deeply Kurt as the person he was despite of all the struggle he had to face to...but just take a look at the title, it's all about musicians and not just philanthropist idols, in my opinion there's no rock guitarist that can compare to Jimi by his wild bluesy style...just being honest kurt was a good of composer but a shit of guitarist
Juan Jiménez
well... thats what its all about for me... the composition.. i suck at piano, but i think i compose beautiful melodies so... everyones different... i will say tori amos amazes for her piano skill... its more of a generational gap.. i was born in 83 lol like i said i love jimi hendrix.. he broke down racial barriers and was a hell of a guitar player, but i rule on substance more than just music... its kurts empathy that gets me... he was just such a beautiful damn tragic soul... he didnt have a legendary persona.. thats whats so damn heart breaking about his death for me... i look at Kurt and i see a best friend... or an ex boyfriend... i dont see him as larger than life... many of greats were... Kurt was one of us dude...
i hate seeing his pictures and images engraved in such a way knowing that the youth only get to know his work through faded memories... its just a memorial... it fucking sucks... he was so much more than that...
his death really fucked with my head... i was young as hell and just coming into finding myself... i cried about his death for over a month... it was extremely confusing at a time when you are starting to question things and seek answers (the joy of puberty) haha... this amazing beautiful thing that was here so briefly, lit up the world and in an instant was gone... i wish i would have been a little older... maybe it would have been easier to deal with and not so confusing...
How is this a top ten ? I swear watch mojo just make top tens on everything... :/
Corgiz a lot of musicians die at 27 thats why
Kittuete & Raj but how is artists who committed suicide or just passed away... a “top ten”
Hendricks die due to toe cancer he refused to have his toe removed because he was afraid it would effect his stage performance
Rachel Alden You're mixing him up with Bob Marley!
Jeremy spoke in class today It doesn't matter how-they all died at 27-not for this list anyway. People asked for it to be made. Mojo just picked their choices for the top ten musicians who were part of the "27 Club". Like they do with every vid from a suggestion. It isn't neccessarily THE top 10 musicians of all time blahblahblah. Though it could be by some standards. Most well known who died at 27? Whatever.😬✌
Cobain's lyrics still hook me.. takes me right back to 91... but pops had me listening to Jim Morrison before I managed to wet my first diaper...so love that to
