Ferns, in my humble opinion want to be kept moist not wet and don't move them around. Succulents are moody and can be tricky but soo worth it. We all have our diva plants but I enjoy the challenge. Thanks for your fun, real and upbeat content. I really enjoy your vibe.
Oh for sure! I love a good challenge lol i really want to try more ferns, maybe I'll wait until spring and give it another go! Thank you so much for hanging out!!
Palms, I am in So Cal. which qualifies as desert-are kept outside, direct sunlight. planted in the ground. Ferns, indirect sunlight, humidity. Succulents desert plant, usually. Its for the person who doesn't water often. They are fleshy and store water in their leaves. Fiddle leaf figs, never owned one but it's reputation precedes it, but I have heard some are able to grow it outdoors in my area. My guess as to why your pink princess "reverted" is that it's compensating for the reduction in light with a chlorophyll laden leaf; it's all about energy production. It is still a nice plant. Put it back in the light. The genetics are still there; you will get the variegated pattern back.
It definitely depends on where you live. I have no humidifier, humidity can get pretty low, but my Palms still do well, they even thrive, pushing out new growth. Mine tend to like lower lighting. Cacti/succulents do pretty well with me, I don't struggle at all with them. I agree with Ferns. Haven't had the other ones. Great video!
Dang dude you have quite the green thumb! That's awesome! What area to you live in?? That's mindblowing your palms like lower light! Thank you so much for sharing your experience!
@@planttherapii Thanks, but I don't think it has much to do with me. Other plants struggle in my care. I live in PA. I guess they just like that area lol
I still can't grow an echevaria but if you get a bag of Bonsai Jack cactus soil and mix half that and soil I've grown several aloe, gasteria, crassula, sedum and haworthia
A lot of these are definitely situational, for me learning from them is a challenge I gladly accept. I reserve the right to change my tune when I have as many plantys as you lol 🙃
Haha oh you're definitely right! It's so dependent on you, your environment and your habits. The more plants I get the lazier I get with some plants and I'll get more intense with others!
From my experience with the pink princess is that the more i let mine grow the more pink I get. I want to chop one just to start over since it was stretched out a bit, but the pink on the newer leaves is beautiful. My problem with them is that their leaves can burn so easily.. I have one under a LED grow light but a bit way and the leaves still burn and get those brown scratch looking marks on it. I do agree with succulents, but because I cannot provide them with enough light so they get very stretched out. I may try the Euphorbia tirucalli 'Sticks on Fire'. Ferns have really hurt me. I bought a beautiful heart leaf fern and I have to keep it in a tote since it wants such high humidity. It's a shame..I have a rabbits foot fern that I love since the legs remind me of my tarantulas lol but she's kept in a greenhouse with some begonias. As always, thank you for the videos!
I know exactly what you mean with the streaking on the ppp, some of my other dark philos do it too, it's so annoying! The rabbits foot fern is one of my favorites. Those legs are so cute! Lol Thank you so much for hanging out!
There are some succulents that are easy, sedum, ghost plant and Kalanchoe in my opinion. But Calathea are just looking for a place to crisp up and die.
Yuss! I haven't had any get stuck on mine (yet) but it's still soo small so that may be helping lol I feel like those types of philos are just a little extra picky 😅
I'm in kansas, I had a majestic palm for a few months... then I sold her because I didn't have space. I'll never do ivy or ferns because they're spider mite magnets. Every single succulent I've had...I've successfully killed 🤪🤣 I'm an over-waterer/helicopter mom.... I do better with needy plants 😉
I don’t understand where all these spider mites come from! I lost two of my cilantro plants to them! 😡 I managed to save the rest of my plants. Somehow all of my plants were infested with them!
Hardly anyone can grow majesty palm! They only last a short time. I have a parlor palm that I have had for over 20yrs and I live in Ohio!
Oh dang! That's impressive!! 👏

I love all of your tips!! You rock! Thank you so much for sharing 🥰 you're totally right about the ppp, it's already starting to look better!
The Asparagus Fern and the Crocodile Fern are the easiest ferns i tried, they continued to grow even in winter and 30% humidity.
Oo that's really goo to know! I've always loved the look of an asparagus fern.

Either way lol it's so cool you can keep them alive!

Omg, you're so prettyyyy✨
It has nothing to do with plants but your face is just so cute and beautiful 💕✨✨
Omg owww my heart!! 🥹 thank you!
New to your channel and enjoyed this....there are definitely enough tricky plants out there for a part two!
Hey! Thanks for hanging out 🥰 you are not wrong lol a part 2 may be in order!
I completely agree ! I would add string of pearls too 😅
Ohhh yeah I've killed one of those! I want to try again tho!!

I agree with you on the fiddle leaf fig. She was beautiful until I moved her. then the struggle began until she went up yonder....never again... 😆
Haha seriously! The pickiest plant around! We live and we learn lol
Perhaps you should try the Chamaedorea palm. I have mine now for 5 years and it is growing non stop. It bloomed several times.
Oo that's so cool!! I just googled it and it's beautiful 😍 thank you for the suggestion
Yes, you can't rely on the pink princess, I just chopped mine down to the pink and waiting to see what happens.
Also mine is under a Barrina light.
Also, I absolutely love watching you. Your planty knowledgeable, pretty, animated and very upbeat.
Ooo I hope your ppp grows back beautifully! You'll have to keep me posted. Thank you so much for that! You're so kind 🥰

Thank you for the tips!! I'm going to have to look those guys up and see if I've killed any of them yet 😅 calathea are for sure picky brats!
Hello sunshine 😊. I’ve had succulents and I killed them. I will never own a succulent again 😢. Thank you for sharing 💚🪴
Hey lovely! You're soo not alone there haha there are so many other plants that will be happy with us so the succulents can be for someone else lol 😅
I never owned a ppp because everyone says the leaves ALWAYS get stuck

Haha I totally agree!! I want to love my plants too much. I will of mice and men a succulent way too quick!
Great video and pretty spot on. I would include string of things to this list for me 🫣🤭
Hahaha i couldn't agree more! But they're so cute, I still want to try agai!
I don’t understand where all these spider mites come from! I lost two of my cilantro plants to them! 😡 I managed to save the rest of my plants. Somehow all of my plants were infested with them!
Oh no!! I honestly don't understand either..just when I think I have it under control, BAM! They're back with a vengeance!
Fed up . I’m giving you away to a friend I hate !!!
Oh nooo!!
Palms are meant to be grown outdoors in tropical locales only. They shouldn’t be sold as houseplants.
I think you're right! They are never happy with me
RIP to all the ferns ive tried to re purchase. Also Mimosa Pudica aka "The Sensitive Plant" LOL its my. favorite plant, yet I can't keep one alive.
Haha yess!! I've killed one of those too!! They're a little too sensitive for me 😅
@@planttherapii Little bitchy if you ask me lmaooo
For real!! 😂
