Esben Willems - Cabaret Street

Cabaret Street’is the first single from ‘Glowing Darkness ‘ the solo project from Esben Willems of Monolord, supergroup SLOWER and owner/operator of Studio Berserk, Sweden.
Inspired by “Assorted reflections on how we all seem trapped in playing the futile game of perpetually trying to display what superhumanly successful and interesting lives we lead. In spite of us all being aware of this, we still manically persist,” ‘Cabaret Street’ is the perfect lead in to the album which is the fruition of many years of songwriting, conceptual exploration and expression. A decidedly humble and multifaceted release full of texturally varied composition and irreverent lyricism, ‘Glowing Darkness’ reflects the struggle and absurdity of the human condition through Esben’s personal lens, and though largely autobiographical, at no point does the album take itself too seriously. Exuding endless amounts of catchy, foot tapping hooks and a healthy dose of anthemic raging, ‘Glowing Darkness’ is an inspiringly raucous ode to creating regardless of one’s limitations and includes nine tracks of hook rich, punk spirited alternative rock.

I half-expected there to be a song called Satanic Feminist on this album. Song is fun and obviously doesn't take itself too seriously, makes me expect one hit on the album but instead it will be full of fun, interesting and kinda unique songs.
