Seriously I’m so happy I found your channel today…I could watch you all day long. Lol I’ve had a very hard year with grief, depression, anxiety etc and am just starting to feel a little better, I haven’t crocheted for several months and I feel inspired..thank you so very much 🙂❤️
ILOVE THE LAPPY BLANKETS. THE DISCRIPTION SOUNDS SO MUCH BETTER THAN LAPGAN😊 I AGREE WITH BUYING A COLOR PALLET. ILL BE GLAD TO TAKE THE SQUARES OFF YOUR HANDS ADD TO IT AND SEND IT BACK 2 U. FREE.. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND CK TO U 4BFREE
I love all of the blankets shown in this video. Laps and all. I also love the granny squares I aspen. Color blocking the washing in van dyke brown, Prussian blue or sap green would look lovely on a bed.❤❤❤
Hi, Juan. The very first yarn project in my life was a Granny Square afghan! Red, white and blue. We were so broke back then, (1970-ish) I had no money to get more yarn, so I disassemble the afghan and made it again! I was hooked (pun intended)! I’m 77 yo now, crocheting and knitting and my stash will last longer than I will. 🧶♥️🧶
My first granny square blanket, I ever made, had lots of mistakes. I was proud of myself. Because I learned from my great-grandma how to crochet a chain. Then, after she passes, I learn granny square. The 2 blankets were a rectangle granny blanket that I gifted to my mom. Then, a classic move crochet along, end up queen size. It took me years to learn crochet. So now I say I'm a tri-stitchual. I loom knit, knit, and crochet all easy mindless project.
The estate yarn granny blanket is GORGEOUS ❤❤❤the teal ombré with the pink and black LOVE💜💜💜 I see a skirt with your moms granny squares!!!!! Scrap square cardi! I will take them with joy!!
Hahaha. You’re so young, Juan! That neon takes you back to the 90’s. It takes me back to the 60’s! 🤣🤣. I agree with you so much about crystal, Bag O Day tutorials. Whenever I’m looking for a project design, that’s where I go. And she directed me to come check you out, so that’s how I got here!! 💜💜💜
Hi Juan, I love seeing all your projects. I really love the cotton blanket. 50 years ago, my grandma taught me to crochet, and it was a zigzag blanket. Green and white. I love how Crystal (bag-o-day) gave you the name Juan the enabler) lol she cracks me up. 😊 I am really enjoying your channel. I wish you continued success. 💜🌻🤗
Perseverance, Juan! Winter is coming and you’ll be home in the evenings. Take one baggie a day, turn on the TV, sit down with your feet up, and sew those ends while you watch a movie or something and sip on a mug of hot chocolate. You’ll be surprised how quickly you finish just one baggie. It’s work that I call “No Brainer”
I agree with you Mary.P77, I did the same thing with a blanket of granny squares I was making from Creative Grandma! I kept making the squares and not thinking about sewing in the ends, so that is what I did. I pulled them out while I was watching tv, and just worked on them then! I have learned my lesson and only make a few and then sew in those ends before moving on! So much easier!
Hi Juan that favorite stripe blanket and that neon yes Sir nailed it. We shall not say the P word. We should go back to that 😂. Loved this video. It made me so happy Rip AC Moore 😢 That Aspen print 🥰🙏🏽💜🫂
Love all the blankets & squares. last week bought yarn & Crystal reminded me that it's purple & guess what it has pink too.love those squares don't mind making the blanket & sewing the ends 😇 need to make granny squares blanket
OMG Juan, those afghans are all unique and different. Like yourself, I love the color purple 💜 also I love autumn 🍂 colors. I just have to tell you how much I love your video content. Keep up the great work 👍 👏
All of those blankets are beautiful!! Purple is my favorite color too. Can’t wait to see what you make with your mom’s granny squares in the Wawa bag. 💜💟🪻
Hello Juan I love your beanie and all the green square Afghan I think that's what everybody started out doing especially if you're older like my age that's all we did was granny square love it and the ones your mom made with very pretty too
LOL I just watched BOD video and Crystal heckled you about Pink you both have me laughing ! just to let you know I am not fond of pink either ! some lovely granny square pieces you have done ! sending smiles to U & Urs hugs too
😊 Juan, you have beautiful blankets that both you and your Mom have created over the years. I personally do not beat up on myself when I create something, I just do it and say to myself, ‘Well, I’m not perfect, why should you be’ 😊
When I first thing I learned and made where granny square. I made my granddaughter the buffalo blanket. Crystal is my go to for tutorials. Love the beanie. Beautiful colors and I love it. I will take your WIP of granny squares. I can tuck the tails and send them back to you ❤
Hi Juan. Catchup time again. Loved part 2 of the granny square blankets. The blankets are all so pretty. I can see what you mean about ends though. They are a real pain when you have so many to sew in. I tend to crochet over them where I can but granny squares do not lend themselves to that so much.
Hi Juan, that beauty blah granny square in light olive green would be great with the light cream. That is my colors My living room Bavarian style awesome painted furniture. Crystal taught me to crochet during Covid love that girl. I am 80 and the happiest I have ever been because of crocheting. I have made 20 of Crystals shawls that would be scarf for you
Juan, when you finish each square, hide the tails. Sure, it may take five minutes longer to make a square, but when you have forty or more, you will be glad you did. Hugs, Catie 😊
Love the squares your mom made. The colors are awesome. Juan maybe you should go on UA-cam and put in granny squares and you may get some great ideas. I have seen granny pants, cardigans, pillows, long coats, pocketbooks. I will tell you again how much I love your videos. Lol I really had planned to continue making a crocheted birthday cake for my daughter & my best friend. Both their b’days are around Turkey Day. I can’t tell you how many times I frogged that darn beginning of the cake!! Almost gave up but they will both be surprised. I know that it will help me grow. But I watched you instead lol😂. ❤gayle
Oh my Juan, if you are serious about allowing someone to finish the granny squares project with all the ends needing sewed in. Please please allow me to do this for you. I have 2 granddaughters that love to help me with crochet projects and weaving in ends is a favorite thing to do for the younger of the 2. Our crochet time together are treasured times. I have just recently discovered your channel due to our favorite crochet enthusiast, Crystal. I love watching your videos although I am attempting to watch all the ones I have missed so I'm a little behind. You are doing such a great job. 👍
I love your yarn collection behind you! I would love to see your other room of yarn. My first big yarn project was a granny square blanket at the age of 15. My dad had taught me, my sisters and even my aunt how to crochet. One summer several of us, I believe 5 all made a granny square blanket for our beds. We had so much fun doing that together. I’m 51 now and I still have the blanket I made and the one my dad made. I will always treasure the memories of that time. I’m loving your channel and those granny square projects bringing back those memories! 🫶🏻
I think the best way to tackle the ends is to grab five a day. Take them to work and sew them up. I have a friend who decided to make a knitted sweater for her future grandchild. She only worked on it during our lunch break. Within a few months it was done. It made me realize that even a few minutes a day can create wondrous things.
Love you Juan ❤ you keep it real. The blankets are gorgeous. Especially love the vintage one since I'm from the 60s and 70s.🙂 Some suggestions for the granny square wips: Imo the neutral granny would look more lively with the aran colored yarn. Then to add texture you could join them with a more saturated color using the crab stitch. I learned this join from the channel Ophelia Talks. For the colorful squares with the plethora of ends you could purchase one of those thin plushy blankets in the size you desire, make enough squares to cover it, and then back the joined granny square blanket with the plushy or flannel blanket sandwiching in the loose ends in between. Then you would only have to sew them together with the blanket stitch along the sides. Yes, some hand sewing but imo less tedious than sewing in all those ends. Or maybe you could even machine sew the sides. I don't know. Anyway just some suggestions. You do lovely work.
Hey, Juan! Don't give up on the variegated neutral colred blanket squares. One thing artists can't do without, whether you're in fine arts or textile arts, is we need a Color Wheel. You're an artist who works with colors, tones and shades daily and a color wheel is a wonderful tool and a necessity. It can help you visualize a color pallette more clearly, and help you discover color combos you might have never imagined. For example, (1) your variegated neutral colors you want to jazz up, pick out a couple of the colors from the yarn, then pick yarns in a deeper tone of these colors for a contrast border; (2) take one or two colors from the main yarn, then choose its complementary color (that's the color directly across from it on the color wheel), in this instance you have greens, beige and tan-browns - greens' complementary colors are reds and mauve; brown's complementary colors are Kelly blues, greens, red, red-orange and orange and so on. I hope this helps you a little.
There's got to be someone out there that would love that color on the solid granny square blanket. You're work looks great. I say don't scrap it, it beautifully done.
Just love watching your videos and your bubbly genuine personality is what makes people come back and subscribe, that is why your channel is exploding 💕💕By the way donate what you need to but I would like to suggest offering that cotton granny blanket to a charity or organization of your liking to use as a raffle!!!
I was so proud of myself. This year I finished a 10 year old WIP. Turned into 2 fairly substantial afghans. Jewel tone elongated hexagons edged in black with square rosettes in the gaps. Turned out like leaded stained glass. 👍
Juan, you have made me rethink granny squares. As a child of the hippie era was not fond of them. But you have shown me how unique and interesting they can be.
Juan, would you ever consider a live stream? You could bounce ideas off of people for the projects you are stumped on! The Aspen granny square that you said is 'flat" needs a bold color....I'm thinking of the red that is in the cube behind you. I think it's 7 skeins of red and with 4 skeins of yellow in the cube. That's the red that I think would make it pop!!
Those green squares...I'd love to see them bordered by a dark chocolate or hunter green color. I think that would give a nice contrast. Love your videos! I'm also drowning in hand-made blankets that need a new home 😀
Hi Juan I love sewing in ends. It’s relaxing for me. If you want to send them to me I’ll do them for you and send them back. You’ve done some really beautiful blankets. I like you showing your fails we all have them.💕Tamie in Ohio
Told u yesterday My problem with corners and now I confess it's the whole sewing thing I like your big squares afghans but I am half your size and would drown in all that yarn, maybe you can donate the smaller lap sized and nort worry about the colors and artistry to the animals since they only want warmth And comfort
I giggled when you pulled out that basket full of Aspen Print. I am currently in the middle of working with that same yarn. My Aunt chose the color for her cardigan.
Your granny afghans are gorgeous. The recipients will be very pleased. I am making Crystal's Blurred lines hat as well. Its easy and fun. Have a great evening Juan
Hi Juan!! Don't give up on the "blagh" granny squares they look great as solid squares if U wanna change it up with some texture you could alternate the variegated squares with solid colour squares with texture. It's just that I've found that variegated colours tend to take attention away from the texture and you can't see the difference in the stitches. But textured squares in a solid colour really show off the stitching then you could border it in the off white and it would look stunning!! If you want someone to finish off that other blanket for you I'd be happy to do it!! Although I live in New Zealand so I'm sure there will be someone closer to home who'd be happy to do it for you too.... Postage can be a killer. But if you don't get any other offers I'm happy to do it, and send it back for you to donate (or whatever)😊❤
As soon as I heard your voice I broke into a smile. What can I say , this is a happy space for m❤e. I’m enjoying crocheting again. You are a delight

Lol, Juan! Neon was the psychedelic 60's! I was there and had a neon green mini dress and white fishnet stockings. 😂 Anyone else?
Hi, Juan. The very first yarn project in my life was a Granny Square afghan! Red, white and blue. I was thinking the same thing but it takes me back to the 80’s ❤
I think you should name the cotton afghan Elvis. So when you donate it, you can say Elvis has left the building !! 😁
Hi Juan, I love seeing all your projects. I really love the cotton blanket. 50 years ago, my grandma taught me to crochet, and it was a zigzag blanket. Green and white. The blah squares just need to have Celt cables where the cafe latte is 🤔. You could even crochet appliqués of thistles if you wanna go crazy on it 😂.
Before I start a new project I like to organize my thoughts, both of them.
Hi, Juan - Love, love, love the purple, teal scrapghan - Lusciouis - Mimi
Rusty orange for the muted granny square would look nice I’m thinking and should help make it pop.
Such beautiful afghans. Juan you are so talented!

Another great video Juan. Maybe you could make some aubergine flowers and sew them on the center of the green squares.
Juan, all those purple granny squares make your mom a nice sweater. Join them with a shade of blue
Love the squares your mom made. The colors are awesome. Juan maybe you should go on UA-cam and put in granny squares and you may get some great ideas. I have seen granny pants, cardigans, pillows, long coats, pocketbooks. I will tell you again how much I love your videos. Juan, I can sew the ends in. It's beautiful colors. The squares that your mother made were lovely!
I love your granny square afghans!! So beautiful!! Definitely love the purple!!
Maybe you could make a striped blanket using the purple granny squares from your mom? You could use your Aran and make 6" rows in between. 😊👍🧶
Really like your hat. The colorway is perfect. Those afghans are so pretty.
I love granny. I love those blankets. They are my favorite.. But lots of other kinds of blankets. But my heart granny.
Hi Juan. I love your granny squares. You modernized it in most of your color schemes.
I’m loving your channel and those granny square projects bringing back those memories! 🫶🏻
One day you will look at those squares and have a light bulb moment. And you will know what to do. Thanks for sharing your grannies.
Hi Juan, I look forward to your videos each day. Keep them rolling!!!
Especially love the vintage one since I'm from the 60s and 70s.🙂
Some suggestions for the granny square wips:
Imo the neutral granny would look more lively with the aran colored yarn.
I love the granny color combo with the ultramarine blue, oatmeal and grass green you have there!!
Love that beanie-mainly the colors. ❤
I would love those mini squares. I would finish them and donate to a veteran in need...❤❤❤
I totally agree. The pop of a complementary color and perhaps some bobbles might give you the interest you want.
Purple. Love the colorful afghan!
Love all your videos. Yes. That beanie is gorgeous Juan
Wow, Juan, all your blankets are beautiful.
There's got to be someone out there that would love that color on the solid granny square blanket. You're work looks great. I say don't scrap it, it beautifully done.
I could watch this all day! Now I want to make granny blankets. I love that you shared you “failure” and now the success. It’s inspiring! ❤
I love your lapgans. The colors were beautiful.
I love all of the blankets! Love your moms blanket!
Juan, Your & Your Precious Mom's Blanket's & Scrappy Lappy's are all so Beautiful 💜💜💜🤗🤗🤗! You are doing a Great Job just being Yourself 😊💜!
I love the Sugar & Cream cotton afghan ! That's beautiful.
Those green squares...I'd love to see them bordered by a dark chocolate or hunter green color. I think that would give a nice contrast. Love your videos! I'm also drowning in hand-made blankets that need a new home 😀
Sew them together and if possible find flannel to sew together the side with those ends. That way the flannel covers up that end with the ends.
Hi Juan 💜😊! Love, Love, Love Your Beanie 💜💜💜!

I am making Crystal's Blurred lines hat as well. Its easy and fun. Have a great evening Juan
I love the blanket you made with the vintage yarn. It is beautiful. And yes I will admit I am of the “vintage” age. 😗😂
I loved it too, and I was raised in the 60-70s, so I think it's really pretty!
So many colorful blankets. Love that you know the history of when you made them. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
Hi Juan!! Don't give up on the "blagh" granny squares they look great as solid squares if U wanna change it up with some texture you could alternate the variegated squares with solid colour squares with texture.
