Thanks for the video. I just found a GP100 6in. used. A very fine shooter. I did change the grips out on it, and yes i saved the grips with the wood in them. I feel like i shoots even better with them on it. Better to get a grip on it with rubber ones. Have a great day and stay 2A strong.
Love this gun, but my long eye relief scope that I bought was heavy, and cumbersome. Looking forward to getting a simple lightweight red dot.
I have the 6” for target and hunting looking to add a scope already added a big butt wooden grip. Also have the 4” for my CCW.

my gp100 still has factory trigger, got it used would like to get more 357 to shoot, good video I like your setup
Thanks, I really appreciate it. The factory gp100 isn’t bad. All I did was use an India stone to slick up the parts.

When I first held and shot a GP 100 , I said to my self, now this is REAL gun.
You could shoot the 357 magnum shells first, or you could just load everything into 357 cases.
True enough, I think I even mentioned something like that the video. I have so many thousands of 38 brass though and not nearly as many 357 mag, plus I know at a glance what I’m grabbing.
Ruger makes a Solid revolver. Some knock them for using MIM parts, but it only matters IF the manufacturer doesn't have their metallurgy down. Ruger has theirs dialed in, so it's not an issue. They don't produce potmetal Saturday Night Specials. 👍🏻
Yeah because everybody knows Ruger makes fragile, delicate revolvers. For some crazy reason, I plan to keep mine. The only problem I have with Ruger is who should I pass them down to?
@@timothyprice9064 EXACTLY! I'm a Smith&Wesson fan (especially the Old S&W's) but Ruger is a Very close 2nd for me. 👍🏻
@@SierraBravo347 I have owned only 3 S&W in my life the revolvers are a 7 shot 686 357 and now an 8 shot 627 357 and yes they are both fine guns. But there is just something about Ruger that says, I'll shoot anything you can load in me, I'll be here shooting those full house loads long after you are gone, and if you ever need to use me like a hammer or a club, "Hold my beer". Your mileage may vary
@@timothyprice9064 Lol!! Hell Yeah...it would make a Great hammer! 🤣 I LOVE my 3" GP100, it's just awesome shooting. She looks good Too...I got a set of maple wood grip inserts for the factory rubber grips that have Celtic Crosses laser etched on them. My favorite S&W is a model 28-2 Highway Patrolman that was built in '72. She's an Old Skool Beast, and still spitting fire and brimstone. 🔥☄👍🏻

I havent yet took a deer with mine yet but i dont get to go much anymore. But i love to fish at night off the bank for flathead catfish
And around 1 am when the fish start to bite it gets a little spooky in the kentucky bush. My Ruger GP 100 is my security blanket lol
This has me wanting to put a scope on my GP100. I’ve never shot a scoped handgun. Do you keep both eyes open?

I love it! The pistol scope is kinda hard to get use to, but not bad once you get the hang of it.

Awsome gp100 Rob love the look but then agin I'm a ruger Fan. Not sure about the scope where I hunt but then agin would work for put that shot at on mark at say 50 to 100 yards on a deer. When u said powder for reloading I was waiting for u to say h110

Also what kind of spring kit did you use for the trigger job or do you have a video on how you did it?
I honestly can’t remember where I got the spring kit but it was more than springs that got the trigger where it is. There was a lot of honing work to smooth it out.
Whear did you say that you got the scope mount from and how much do they cost? I have a GP100 and would love to put a scope on it. It's a great pistol to shoot.
The scope Mount is weigatinny. Google it. I don’t remember the cost, but it works great.
I have a 4.2 inch Ruger model 1771. Would you share a little information on if I need a special scope (or are they pretty universal), and what scope you would put on it?
Any long eye relief scope should work, however with that short of a barrel I’d consider a red dot sight.

Me too! My favorite pistol caliber.
Other than a shotgun a 357 just might be the do-everything round for Revolvers and carbines. They are not perfect, but they can get the job done in most cases.
