The recent episode of The Expanse plays on this trope brilliantly - so much so that only your comment made me realise this Sadly I cannot quote it as it would be a big big spoiler
Or the bit where the bad guy ties the hero up to a elaberoate death trap and leaves him there rather than just shooting him in the head or slitting his throat while he's restrained.
I thought Jurassic world was very bland. I wasn’t invested in any of the characters and the action scenes ultimately just lacked any sort of tension or excitement. From what Mark said this one sounds slightly more interesting but still not that bothered about it
Brilliant Give it a chance. I had no interest and the trailers did not help me. But I LOVED it. I thought it was super fun! It is not meant to be shakespeare. Look at it as a monster B movie.
I just saw it and I thought it was awful. Jurassic World is Oscar worthy compared to it. Terrible characters and terrible story. I thought about walking out to be honest.
Ruined by the marketing... The first trailer was perfect, dinosaurs escpaing the island, people assuming that this was the main crux of the film... Shoulda left it there, but no! Show all the second act in the house, even giving away potential thrilling scenes in the 2nd and 3rd trailers! Plus showing literally the last scene of the movie! -
I hated the first Jurassic World. The scene where the raptor is on the t rex's back fighting the dinosaur mutant near the end was the one bright spot, because it was hilariously stupid.
Could someone explain what the 'Nosferatu' moment or reference was in the film? I have no interest in watching Jurassic World:Fallen Kingdom, but I do love Nosferatu and don't mind this being spoiled.
I have seen it and haven't got a clue what he's on about. Perhaps Mark needs to understand that some of us have lives that extend outside movies and we don't all see the World as a series of 'easter eggs', back references and inside jokes.
The problem with the film is that everything you can really say with this concept was said in Jurassic park 25 years ago. What else can you do? You have to come up with increasingly contrived ways to make dinosaurs escape and attack people, and at the end of it you only have what happened in the first film, but in a more overblown way.
You don’t need to say anything. Telling a good story doesn’t need grand ambitions. Looks at tremors. Tremors is how it should have gone, small stories told well.
I saw Jurassic Park when I was 12 years old. I remember two things vividly even now - all I really saw before seeing the film was the poster which was the most iconic thing I had ever seen and the film was one of the darkest I had seen at that time. Jump to Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, and it is not just the park that is in the past - it is films being made like Jurassic Park was. I love the film, from the action of the first half to the gothic horror of the second. I don't get scared by films so i never expect that - ask a ten year old how scary this is and you might get a different answer. The opening of the film could possibly have come from the original - but look at it, rain at night...lots and lots of rain. It is sometimes the setting of a scene that is just as important as what happens in it and this is a case in point. For me there wasn't really any drag in the film, the 2 hours plus passed very quickly, and for people who have said " where are the dinosaurs" and "there's too much talking", go and look up how much dino footage is actually in Jurassic Park. If you just go from dino scene to dino scene, you end up with JP3. Does it have it's flaws, of course it does, just like every other film. **** Spoiler alert **** For example, why didn't Claire notice the ladder hanging down when in the control room before being faced with the Baronyx when it was clear to see? Why did Toby Jones' auctioneer have to have that flying Trump hair screaming moment which was so cheesy? Why did the Indoraptor death have to be in slow motion? It's not dramatic and is nothing more than a cliche. The fact that around a dozen or so dinosaurs being released into the real world seemingly means they cannot be taken back out of it and the world is going to change - but with such a small number why is it such a big thing. They've tranquilized them once, so why not again. But in the grand scheme of things, do I care? Not at all. There is a massive difference between how films are made and marketed now compared to 25 years ago. One disappointment I had was that the Mosasaurus scene with the surfers was no more in the film than was seen in the trailer, the same for the Rex with the lion. It's like showing you the horse race then asking you to bet on it. The original JP trailer showed pieces of dinosaurs but never actually shows much more. You had to see the film to get the spectacle. i even remember promo clips of the Rex escape were edited to cut out much of the scene (you see the claw on the wire and the Rex stomping towards the car but you never saw the actual moment it steps out of the paddock and roars for the first time until you saw it in the cinema). The other trailer issue was the scene that made it look like Owen and Blue were conversing "You thinking what I'm thinking" followed by a smirking Blue. Naff as hell, but these are from two different scenes in the film and works much better than the trailer makes it appear. Why damage your film with a trailer that does that? Misguiding like the Infinity War trailer I love the idea of - show what the hell you want except what actually happens which leaves you to find out in the cinema - I personally think this is the way trailers need to go if they are intent on showing so much, but don't show it in a way that makes your film look more cheesy than it needs to be. What this film does that I love, in the same was as JW, is the throwbacks. The certain way the Rex stands for that triumphant roar - where have i seen that before? - the stance of the brachiosaurus as it meets its fiery end, Maisy desperately attempting to pull down a sliding door as the dinosaur pelts towards her, the upturned car when Blue first appears and so many more references that link back to JP. And we also have the thing that quite a few people thought they were going to see the first time, a Jurassic World where dinosaurs are no longer confined to an island. Bring on one last hurrah in 2021 for me.
Saw it last night, enjoyed it overall. There were some cheesy moments. Kinda like how they got the big epic stuff outta the way in the first half, and the second half being a b-movie, haunted house mash-up with elements of Taken and the Hostel flicks. Plus, that pier scene when the boat leaves, made my Missus genuinely cry.
The person I was sat next to reacted in the same way and let out a cry of "the poor dinosaur" where as I thought, "oh well, it's not real anyway". Maybe I am dead inside and have no soul...
wiseguy100 ok I think I see what you're saying. I haven't watched the movie yet do that comparison just took me by surprise. Probably going to see it once it's out in the States.
Oh yes, I heard you guys in the States have to wait a couple of weeks for release. I'd deffo recommend the film. If you like the last film, you'd like this one. I'd rank Fallen Kingdom as the 2nd best JP film, behind the original flick.
That climax encapsulated, for me, everything wrong with the film. Oh awesome! The dino's are teaming up to take down the big evil dino! It looked cool but they don't feel like animals anymore.
The problem with the story is that it was just a holding pattern for third film in this trilogy The Indoraptor's rather feeble death was a bit a bum note tbh. Bit strange in a movie about Dinosaurs that the human characters most at the forefront. The chemistry between the human characters was better this time around though. Jeff Goldblum was basically used a marketing tool which is a shame as I quite like the Dr Malcolm character. I thought it was a 7/10
It reminded me of Back to the Future II, in the sense it was purely there to get from the premise of the first movie, to the set up of the third movie.
I agree so much. They really didn't use the mansion to its full potential, heck, it was so filled with fossils and replicas it felt more like scenes in older films.
Just watched this. I have to say, as someone who works in genetics with a strong interest in emerging technologies in science that this film really made me think. A summer blockbuster. Madness. The hammering home of the idea that we can't just put our discoveries back in the box is very potent. Designer babies, cloning, the ending of conventional aging, or the reviving of lost species. When we can do it, we will do it and reality is changed. I never expected this from a dinosaur blockbuster
I think it falls apart when you compare it to its counterpart in the Park trilogy. The Lost World had its flaws but the story and the villains were vastly more compelling than in Fallen Kingdom. I feel like Fallen Kingdom would have been better had it not gone with the ulterior motive story and just spent the whole time trying to save the dinosaurs while the island was erupting around them.
I liked it, not as much as Jurassic World, but I liked it. That said, it's very much a set up movie for the next film. It felt like they had a point they wanted to get to, some themes they wanted to introduce, but it was too much to do in one movie so they split a script in two and slowed some things down, padded it out, and made it the middle of a trilogy. The next film has a lot of interesting set up and things to explore, but it kind of compromised this movie a bit.
Yes, I think they could have truncated the second half and had more of what happens next in this film. There's so much potential that's gone wasted really, we have no idea what the next one is about, only that there's some dinos in the wild, some with billionaires and some DNA still kicking around, presumably in Wu's possession. The filmmakers talked previously about all the applications the dinos could have, so it's disappointing that instead of exploring one of those in this film, this was just the setup. The second half could have been set at one of the places the dinos were sent to, a military base or who knows what, but instead they set it in a house, essentially a miniature version of the island. I don't know why the Indoraptor would stalk them around the house, and not flee into the woods at the first opportunity!
You could say the exact same thing for Jurrasic World. Quite a bit of set up for this movie. Where they are getting to in 3 is what the first film was going to be about but unless you make everything a 10 part netflix series you just can't do it all
It's pretty interesting how people are divided on which half of the movie they enjoyed, I wasn't that much of a fan of this film but I enjoyed the rescue operation part of the film and was disappointed about where the film went after that personally.
Just came back from a viewing. I didn’t like the pacing, I think the previous one was a bit more linier and sleek, this one plods at times. Nothing really made me jump in this one, the ending, which I will not give away, I did not like, it just verged into the zone of too ridiculous, even for this franchise, and the final line was wincingly corny. As Mark says, it’s silly but at least the dialogue between Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard is not the cringe fest that it was in the previous film.
God! Mark this was the worst installment of the 5 and one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. You cannot really say it was alright. It was AWFUL.
I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. It's better than the last one and the gothic part Mark refers to is really great. Worth a trip to the flix imo.
@@TheRowlandstone73 There’s an awesome chase on the rooftops which has a kind of Hunchback of Notre Dame look and feel about it. It’s not a perfect movie but it really has some great sequences in it, this one being the standout.
I hate to say this since I am no fan of reboots, but I wouldn't be against one for this franchise. Besides, it would give them the chance to upgrade the dinosaurs' look to match all the findings that have been done since JP (ex. feathers).
ZemplinTemplar what rights they can make as many of these movies as they want, next one coming out in 2021, and bet they’re going to have a third trilogy, it’s Universal’s highest grossing franchise
yakuza01 You miss a key plot point in both the book and the movies. The dinosaurs are engineered to look how guests expected them to look. The theme is playing god and exploitation. Marketing over reality
The lead characters are in the exact same place they were in Jurassic world it’s almost the exact same arc for their characters it’s like what’s the point
I saw this yesterday and came out feeling flat. The idea of evolution of the Dinosaurs and capitalism was good but didn't we cover that last time around? To me it felt like it was just a recycled film that brought nothing new to the franchise. But maybe I am not the target audience for these films anymore.
] ginock [ exactly the idea of using dinosaurs as weapons was covered last time. I like the fact that John Woo came back but aside from that, pretty much recycled stuff.
DanClarky1 I saw his most recent film Manhunt and it was unfortunately laughably bad. He had dubbed over 70% of the dialogue leaving the majority of the actors' performances on the cutting room floor. Particularly with one actress, it was glaringly obvious her entire performance had been dubbed by a completely different person. I actually think it might be the worst film I have ever seen, but I suppose it's one of those bad films which you could watch purely for entertainment purposes like 'The Room'.
It is not a bad movie, but it is not a great movie either. It is light entertainment, a summer holiday movie, do not expect examination of deep moral issues. There are huge plot holes, Toby Jones had a definite Peter Lorre feel about his performance. I enjoyed it but something like Rampage is a far better movie
Personally, because it was so over the top and ridiculous, I found this to be the most enjoyable film of the franchise. Perhaps the best B-Movie of all time. If you want to have fun, give it a watch. Just don't expect it to be good cinema.
I think calling this a franchise movie slightly misrepresents it. It’s more like a nonsense dinosaur B-movie with extraordinary production values. Toby Jones sets the tone well. A dinosaur practically winks at the camera!
The reason I hated this movie is that I didn't support the objective of the main characters because they're going out of their way to get more people killed by saving the dinosaurs and yet the movie wants me to root for them
I think Kermode is being a bit harsh here. The film easily bests the previous movie in the franchise and JA Bayona is the first director of a Jurassic sequel who really puts his own stamp on it. Add in set pieces Spielberg would be proud of and this is arguably the third (maybe second?) best movie in the franchise
For all the talk of Sicario not needing a sequel (which I happened to like) this was completely unnecessary and way too long to the point of testing patience. Oh, and Jeff Goldblum is only in the film for a total of maybe 3 minutes.
I loved fallen kingdom...its an entertaining dinosaur film that is for once heading in a different direction compared to all the others. I like kermode but feel he just wanted an arthouse gothic horror film....which it was never going to be.
It's a film about dinosaurs, not Citizen Kane. I went in was entertained for a couple of hours, it had some funny moments and some decent scares, characters to love and hate, and did broadly what I expected it to. My one gripe is that if you are going to include a post credits scene, make it worth it.
Yeah but the first Jurassic Park is about dinosaurs, and the reason it's still watchable today is because all the elements work so well. Just because a film is about "monsters" or something make-believe doesn't mean it has to be mindless entertainment. Hell, The Land Before Time is an animated children's film about dinosaurs and yet it's gut-wrenching storytelling at its finest.
Star Wars is brilliant and that’s about an old man with an unnatural interest in a teenager encouraging him to join a cult, commit acts of galaxy wide terrorism and kill his dad.
I agree, it doesn't have to be mindless entertainment, but there has to be an element of the suspension of disbelief involved. That aside, derivative as it is, I enjoyed it. The two leads have a great chemistry and for me they bring a lot to the story. Toby Jones is fantastic as well, effects are fantastic, and overall I'm happy with it. It's not groundbreaking by any means, but it that's not a bad thing.
Whilst the film maybe well acted, terrifically directed & visually stylish, the film’s slow, muddled & underwritten in parts. (43%) (2/5 stars) (mixed)
I enjoyed most of the film as a B Action adventure movie, but then the ending happened. I can see what they were going for, but the execution was awful
Jurassic World felt very lazy to me, enjoyable enough at the cinema but I'll never watch it again. Having dinosaurs in the movie doesn't give the script, direction, etc a free pass like some people seem to suggest. Shape of Water was about a woman banging a fish, and look at that. If they can't come up with a better story then they should just leave the JP name alone in my opinion. They can do a lot better.
When I see this I just want to watch some dinosaurs chase and eat people. If you want a great story and an edgy script with deeper meanings watch a Michael Mann film or something.
So the thing is.......its absolutely terrible! Badly directed, badly edited and overall just badly done! From the misplaced humour ( a raptor smirking all Tom & Jerry esque at a hunter) to a dinosaur headbutting a wall and shaking its head whilst i almost expected to see little dinosaurs twirl around it.... the whole stagnated sequences that are pieced so incoherently together ( the comedy side kick "your a deck crew" who returns 20 minutes later to save the fay convincingly) From the laws of physics rewritten ( I'm pretty sure a gun does not fire in water or an entire human being swalled in one gulp with no trace of blood) hey lets not get started about the fact that we now clone humans too 100% accurately, i half expected sir Dickie to walk back on screen all cgi. The fact that a dinosaur can shake off molten lava like its water even the fact that it can fit into a man hole size container when its the size of a.. well a bloody big dinosaur! It just made no sense! Lets take an idea for a story add a little of what works, simmer with special effects a pinch of A listing and a dash of Goldblum cameo, sautee with bad exposition and your left with a terrible mess of a film! AVOID AT ALL COST.
Jurassic park will never be recreated. These sequels are what tjey are. I enjoyed the last movie but this one was far better imo. It's an action sequel. It's a popcorn blockbuster. But the darkness and graphic nature of this movie and the acting and characters were far better. This was a great sequel imo.
I didn't like Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The script was embarrassing, the characters were drawn with the artistry of a toddler inspired by The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and I was nerdily disappointed at the absence of Sam Neil. I absolutely hated the mess of the second half of the film. I mean why is it that there has to be this negative twist. Jurassic Park was nice because it was about chaos, the unpredictability of life, but this was boring, predictable and lazy. Meh with moments is about right.
This guy is a snob, he only saw this movie thinking of the director's resume. There're excellent films that go from point A to B and there's nothing wrong with that. And if this guy thinks the plot really really really makes no sense (for whatever reason that he doesn't explain) pardon me but he's an idiot. Here's the plot: A group of guys rescue a dinosaurs from an island that's about to explode and afterwards they wanted to sell them. This makes no sense? ok. It's not rocket science. If he wanted to see a complete horror film the go see Nosferatus. This guy's opinion si like his name spelled backwards. It makes no sense.
"It's meh...with moments." Pretty much describes 98% of all summer blockbuster movies.
Good to know that the trope of the smart guy saying something sciency and then another dude saying "In English Please" is alive and well in 2018
The recent episode of The Expanse plays on this trope brilliantly - so much so that only your comment made me realise this
Sadly I cannot quote it as it would be a big big spoiler
Woah, slow down Poindexter!
up there with 'I could tell you, but I'd have to kill you"
Up there with the bullet gets removed put in a metal tin and the patient magically recovers
Or the bit where the bad guy ties the hero up to a elaberoate death trap and leaves him there rather than just shooting him in the head or slitting his throat while he's restrained.
Here's a film concept Mark will love: The T-Rexorcist.
“Meh with moments” should become an official phrase to describe movies these days.
I thought Jurassic world was very bland. I wasn’t invested in any of the characters and the action scenes ultimately just lacked any sort of tension or excitement. From what Mark said this one sounds slightly more interesting but still not that bothered about it
The problem with this, as with the first movie, is that Colin Trevorrow is one of the writers (he also directed the first one).
Brilliant you didnt see jw. the scene when the kids are attakrd inside the ball was the best sequence of any jp movie. just stop
The kid in this one is a much better character. I wanted the boys to get eaten in the last movie
Harpy Eagle I was wanting the girl to die in this one too lol
Brilliant Give it a chance. I had no interest and the trailers did not help me. But I LOVED it. I thought it was super fun! It is not meant to be shakespeare. Look at it as a monster B movie.
Mark: "Enter Toby Jones, with-"
Simon: "Hooray!"
TJ Petty The correct response to Toby Jones!
TheAnduril666x He needs to be in more things
"I want to be sinister from the teeth up"
I just saw it and I thought it was awful. Jurassic World is Oscar worthy compared to it. Terrible characters and terrible story. I thought about walking out to be honest.
In 2018 why is it easier to create seemingly realistic dinosaurs but moviemakers can't come up with a plot that makes sense?
"Hang on, what?"
Mark Kermode's review of Jurassic World, Fallen Kingdom (2018)
"it's a kind of a meh, with moments"
Also him
Brachiosaur on the dock of the bay :'(
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh
I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time
Don't forget burning to death
Indeed. Stupid thing forgot it could swim.
Euan Smith yes I was wondering that.. perhaps she jumped in after the clouds surrounded her.. 😔
I like your positive view.
Ruined by the marketing... The first trailer was perfect, dinosaurs escpaing the island, people assuming that this was the main crux of the film... Shoulda left it there, but no! I thought there would be a dinosaurs attacking surfers scene but was disappointed to find out I´d already seen all of that in the trailer!
You hate them surfers so that much? 😂
When you have to genetically up gun dinosaurs you have lost the plot they are bleedin dinosaurs
richard murphy One of the comments of Jurassic World. It's so normalised, we are generally always looking for the newest thing
It is the moment when the Indoraptor is reaching for Maisey in the bed which mirror's a similar moment in Nosferatu
Aah, thanks. Got it now.
TV As We See It Thank you!! I wasn’t entirely sure which scene he meant, thanks for clearing that up

what was the Nosferatu moment? the Indo reaching for the little girl?
Jurassic World:Fallen Kingdom reviewed by Mark Kermode..."It's fine." Lol!
+Nicole Willaims (and if you see the altered citation under it) *no it wasn't fine* :P

Agreed. Jurassic Park scared me to the core as a child... and 25 years later as an adult.
As a long term JP fan: this was the shittiest movie I've seen in the last few years.
Right there with you my man.
"It's a kind of mueh, with moments"
Put it on the poster.

Gavin Felan Yes, the whole auction thing.

This is far too kind.
I thought the first Jurassic World was rubbish but with a great climax.
That climax encapsulated, for me, everything wrong with the film. Oh awesome! The dino's are teaming up to take down the big evil dino! It looked cool but they don't feel like animals anymore.
I though indominous Rex was already half raptor in first film??
is it just me or is the camera slightly out of focus?
I largely think everything Mark's saying here is right. But I still hated it.
Toby Jones certainly didnt seem to enjoy himself on set. Considering he was also massively struggling with his lines.
The problem with the story is that it was just a holding pattern for third film in this trilogy The Indoraptor's rather feeble death was a bit a bum note tbh. Mark as spoiler alerts PLEASE
It reminded me of Back to the Future II, in the sense it was purely there to get from the premise of the first movie, to the set up of the third movie.
Wasn’t The Lost World also about preserving and conserving the dinosaurs’ way of living - to a degree? So what is really new?
the mansion act
Which was the nosferatu moment again??? I'm so lost -_-"
I agree so much. They really didn't use the mansion to its full potential, heck, it was so filled with fossils and replicas it felt more like scenes in older films.

The Jurassic movies are popcorn movies. Just use them for popcorn and some fun. I love them.
Alright Mark you thought this was just aight but you gave DAMN. a 7?

The DORUK whut?
The DORUK not sure what your point was?
The DORUK ???

Where they are getting to in 3 is what the first film was going to be about but unless you make everything a 10 part netflix series you just can't do it all
I don't agree, Jurassic World was very self contained, the only bit that hinted at a sequel was when Wu went off with the DNA.
The first three movies look more real than jurassic world
I found this film to be tremendously lazy.
God! Mark this was the worst installment of the 5 and one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. You cannot really say it was alright. It was AWFUL.
i LOVED it.
I wonder if this is the last one for awhile.
I hate to say this since I am no fan of reboots, but I wouldn't be against one for this franchise. Besides, it would give them the chance to upgrade the dinosaurs' look to match all the findings that have been done since JP (ex. feathers).
JW3 comes out in 2021
Trevarrow is directing
This was all announced a couple of months ago
If it makes money, I doubt it....it's so depressingly familiar isn't it....
They should call the last one 'Jurassic World - Armageddon (2021)'
The lead characters are in the exact same place they were in Jurassic world it’s almost the exact same arc for their characters it’s like what’s the point
Is it better than Alien: Covenant?
I saw this yesterday and came out feeling flat. The idea of evolution of the Dinosaurs and capitalism was good but didn't we cover that last time around? To me it felt like it was just a recycled film that brought nothing new to the franchise. But maybe I am not the target audience for these films anymore.
] ginock [ exactly the idea of using dinosaurs as weapons was covered last time. I like the fact that John Woo came back but aside from that, pretty much recycled stuff.
Sakura ThornSickle John Woo?
Sorry Henry Wu haha!
+] ginock [ wait untill cult of fanboii's create a defensive molf over it
DanClarky1 I saw his most recent film Manhunt and it was unfortunately laughably bad. He had dubbed over 70% of the dialogue leaving the majority of the actors' performances on the cutting room floor. Particularly with one actress, it was glaringly obvious her entire performance had been dubbed by a completely different person. I actually think it might be the worst film I have ever seen, but I suppose it's one of those bad films which you could watch purely for entertainment purposes like 'The Room'.
the plot synopsis outlined in the trailer made zippy sense,
It is not a bad movie, but it is not a great movie either. It is light entertainment, a summer holiday movie, do not expect examination of deep moral issues. There are huge plot holes, Toby Jones had a definite Peter Lorre feel about his performance. I enjoyed it but something like Rampage is a far better movie
Mark "Its kinda Meh, with moments" Kermode
I also enjoyed the 'Alien' moment.
Personally, because it was so over the top and ridiculous, I found this to be the most enjoyable film of the franchise. Perhaps the best B-Movie of all time. If you want to have fun, give it a watch. Just don't expect it to be good cinema.
i know it's a silly movie but i bloody loved it anyway
Beautifully-shot and designed movie but the jokes are dumb and the plot is predictable and really silly...
It actually as childish as Bayona's last movie...
30% director and 70% franchine, tbh is not a bad ratio for hollywood
I think calling this a franchise movie slightly misrepresents it. It’s more like a nonsense dinosaur B-movie with extraordinary production values. Toby Jones sets the tone well. A dinosaur practically winks at the camera!
The reason I hated this movie is that I didn't support the objective of the main characters because they're going out of their way to get more people killed by saving the dinosaurs and yet the movie wants me to root for them
Soooo true
3:33 Ravishing lives~!
He has a pet dinosaur. Says everything.
D Strachan Bayona is a terrible, terrible director.
I'll stick with the original trilogy - not interested in the JW franchise.
"Meh, -with moments.", hmmm..
We are now in a world where "shoes" need addressing
Who cares whether the dinosaurs are cgi or animatronic? If that's all you care about, then that's why movies like this get made.
JP 3 begins to feel better and better compared to these ...
I can't say I liked this film at all which is a shame as I really enjoy the franchise. Thought the first Jurassic World film was much better.
For all the talk of Sicario not needing a sequel (which I happened to like) this was completely unnecessary and way too long to the point of testing patience. Oh, and Jeff Goldblum is only in the film for a total of maybe 3 minutes.
Am I the only person who bloody loved it lmao
Laura Mars
nope..... I loved it, too ❤
Laura Mars
I thought it was great fun! Ridiculous, pacey fun!
I loved it too. Very entertainig, fast paced and scary at moments. Great cinematography and that old fashioned music score? AMAZING.
Ted levine was the best bit
I knew this was going to be bad by just watching the trailer
I loved fallen kingdom...its an entertaining dinosaur film that is for once heading in a different direction compared to all the others. I like kermode but feel he just wanted an arthouse gothic horror film....which it was never going to be.
Boooooring! Hollywood is overrated.... time to stop making sequel's and come up with an original thought.
Good popcorn movie, lots of action.
Never liked any of them after the first one personally.
So, bad story.... And no characters... With visual effects you'd expect from the computer age ..
Why both?
Rage of the Turnip The Story, at least Concept Wise, is pretty interesting and Characters are ok, but sometimes the Screenplay overdoes itself
Dinosaurs meet Scooby doo.......................
I enjoyed most of the film as a B Action adventure movie, but then the ending happened. I can see what they were going for, but the execution was awful
I hated Jurassic world. The movie had no heart, it felt like 2 hour super bowl commercial
I dont get why he said it didnt make sense? What about it didnt make sense?
Jurassic World felt very lazy to me, enjoyable enough at the cinema but I'll never watch it again. Having dinosaurs in the movie doesn't give the script, direction, etc a free pass like some people seem to suggest. Shape of Water was about a woman banging a fish, and look at that. If they can't come up with a better story then they should just leave the JP name alone in my opinion. They can do a lot better.
When I see this I just want to watch some dinosaurs chase and eat people. If you want a great story and an edgy script with deeper meanings watch a Michael Mann film or something.
All I have to say is dino auction... and that should be enough to say no
So the thing is.......its absolutely terrible! Badly directed, badly edited and overall just badly done! From the misplaced humour ( a raptor smirking all Tom & Jerry esque at a hunter) to a dinosaur headbutting a wall and shaking its head whilst i almost expected to see little dinosaurs twirl around it.... the whole stagnated sequences that are pieced so incoherently together ( the comedy side kick "your a deck crew" who returns 20 minutes later to save the fay convincingly)
From the laws of physics rewritten ( I'm pretty sure a gun does not fire in water or an entire human being swalled in one gulp with no trace of blood) hey lets not get started about the fact that we now clone humans too 100% accurately, i half expected sir Dickie to walk back on screen all cgi.
Hello! So ..this Jurassic thing is still a thing...?
It was terrible, bad characters and a stupid plot and no heart. To be fair you could say that about 99.9% of blockbusters now.
Chris Harris Now and for the last 30-40 years. When exactly were the 'good old days'?
I went into this film thinking it was going to be horrible and a train wreck but I was so surprised to find that I actually really loved it.
Do we blame the directors or studio executives wanting just big sfx for these dumb summer blockbusters?
so.. is that where we're at... remaking Nosferatu with dinosaurs lol ;)
Jurassic Park made in 1993 was good but the rest are rubbish. Nothing else could really compete including the Jurassic World films.
The caricters where much beter than jurassic world
