well said dude. stoked about life describes Jason's enthusiasm very well, i couldn't put my finger on it myself. dealing with addictions myself too, and wishing i could be as stoked about my life one day. i started to go to the gym and started eating well and regularly, that has gotten me pretty stoked compared what i was even in the beginning of the year. it's pretty awesome to see positive changes in your body, through hard work. we can do this bro!! much love from Finland 🇫🇮🤘🏻

Easy Gridraw: Here’s a simple curriculum outline for teaching logo design using grid paper as a guide. This approach emphasizes structure, balance, and precision, making it ideal for beginners or even intermediate designers.
      ---
      ### **Module 1: Introduction to Logo Design Principles**
      - **Objective**: Understand the basics of logo design.
      **Key Topics**:
      - Purpose of logos
      - Types of logos (symbol, wordmark, combination mark, etc.)
      - Importance of simplicity, memorability, versatility, and scalability
**Activity**: Analyze famous logos and their designs. Discuss why grid systems might have been used.
      ---
      ### **Module 2: The Grid System in Design**
      - **Objective**: Learn how grids support alignment, proportion, and symmetry in logos.
      **Key Topics**:
      - History and significance of grid systems in design (e.g., Swiss design)
      - Types of grids (square, isometric, circular)
      - How grids aid in creating geometric, balanced logos
**Activity**: Study grid-based logos, like Apple's and Twitter’s logos, and deconstruct their designs using grid paper.
      ---
      ### **Module 3: Drawing Basic Shapes on Grid Paper**
      - **Objective**: Develop an understanding of how to use grid paper for drawing symmetrical shapes.
      **Key Topics**:
      - Drawing basic geometric shapes (squares, triangles, circles)
      - Using the grid to maintain proportions and symmetry
      - How combining basic shapes creates complex forms
**Activity**: Practice drawing logos from basic shapes on grid paper, using the grid as a guide for precision.
      ---
      ### **Module 4: Logo Composition Using Grids**
      - **Objective**: Create your first logo using grid systems to guide proportions and alignment.
      **Key Topics**:
      - Composition techniques (balance, negative space)
      - Symmetry vs. asymmetry in logo design
      - Designing logos that fit into grid constraints
**Activity**: Create 3 different logo concepts using only geometric shapes and grid paper as a guide.
      ---
      ### **Module 5: Typography and Grids in Logo Design**
      - **Objective**: Integrate text into logos using grids to maintain proportion and alignment.
      **Key Topics**:
      - Typography in logos (serif, sans-serif, custom type)
      - How to align typography with geometric logos
      - Maintaining legibility and balance with grids
**Activity**: Add a wordmark or custom type to one of the logos created in Module 4, using the grid to ensure balance and alignment.
      ---
      ### **Module 6: Refining Logo Designs Using Grids**
      - **Objective**: Refine and iterate on logo designs, paying attention to details.
      **Key Topics**:
      - Refining shapes for smoothness, consistency, and visual appeal
      - Iterating designs for better balance, harmony, and proportions
      - Finalizing grid-based designs
**Activity**: Pick one logo and refine it into a final version, ensuring that the design elements are perfectly aligned and proportionate using the grid.
      ---
      ### **Module 7: Final Logo Project**
      - **Objective**: Create a professional-level logo design using a grid system.
      **Key Topics**:
      - Bringing together all elements of the course into one final logo project
      - Ensuring the logo follows the principles of simplicity, scalability, and balance
      - Presentation of the final design with an explanation of the design process
**Activity**: Design a logo for a hypothetical brand, with the grid paper serving as a foundation. Present the final logo with a breakdown of how the grid helped guide the design.
      ---
      ### **Tools & Materials**:
      - Grid paper
      - Pencils, rulers, and erasers
      - Design software (optional for digital versions, like Adobe Illustrator or Figma)
      - Reference logos and designs for inspiration
      ---
This curriculum offers a structured, hands-on approach to designing logos with the support of a grid, making it easier for learners to grasp the concepts of balance and precision. ( ai)

Jason, I'm a 39 year old dad from Australia and I have to say I've been watching you and Tony on and off for most of my life and very much appreciate you guys. I was disappointed to find I couldn't order a kit from father grind to get me back on a board. I've never had much talent for skateboarding but now I have a 4 year old who loves to go to the skate park, I figured I owed it to myself and him to learn enough to bmb around with him and maybe film his progress as he learns the freedom of it all. If you have any good suggestions for a way for me to get into some old man appropriate gear here in Australia, please let me know. Thanks for everything boys. Keep up the inspirational work. ❤

Several times in recent years, when putting my skateboard in the overhead, people have asked me if I'm Tony Hawk. First time it happened, thinking it was a joke, I said "Yeah!" and they got stoked. So I had to come clean but they didn't seem to believe me. Then I pointed out that Tony Hawk would not be flying coach.

Showing all the attempts for the shuv feeble grind...most people still couldn't possibly know how much crazier this is to do on vert... but it shows the repetition, disappointment, perseverance, and success cycle. Perhaps more than a master of tricks, Tony is a master of the mind. Most people--if they could even muster the courage and time to build the skills to be on a vert ramp--would get angry and give up by the 3rd try. Jason might have one of the best FS 5-0 grinds out there. Perhaps his Smith is better, It can't be denied, Jason has good style. Love all the shop talk.
